Saturday was well attended despite the rain and a number of good papers were read and the meet ing was pronounced a success In the evening a large crowd gathered at the MEChurch to hear the lecture by Prof Davisson which was excel lent The Prof told us how a child should be taught to respect old peo ple and in a very able manner illus trated how much good could be wrought by giving encouragement to the unfortunate and down trodden And further that boys should be taught to respect the law as well as to educate the mind and that no ed ucation is valuable that enlightens the mind at the expense of
