Frankie May Lockwood beloved
wife of Howard S Lockwood and lov
ing daughter of A F and Hulda
Reece was born in Andrew county
Missouri May 9 1875 and departed
this life after a few weeks of patient
suffering at her late residence in this
city April 16 1900 at 3 oclock p m
Age 24 years 11 months and 7 days
She was the voungest child of her
fathers family and moved with them
from Missouri to Kansas wnen she
was about 11 years old From thence
she came with them to Nebraska in
1889 and settled in Cherry county
Was united in marriage to her now
bereft husband October 30 1892 In
to this happy union were born four
children all of whom are living
In the spring of 1896 she was con
verted land unitetL with the M E
Church in which relation she was an
earnestdevoted Christian worker and
led an upright exemplary lite A
year ago in May she came with her
husband and children to Valentine
where they have- since resided On
the 18th of December last she was re
ceived by letter into the M IS Church
of this place
In the home she was kind and af
fectionate true and loving as a com
panion and mother and by her wom
anly traits and genial bearings in the
communities where she lived won for
herself the esteem and good will of
all who knew her
During her sickness she was kind
and patient amid it all seemingly as
if waiting to hear the welcome words
from the Master saying fCome ye
blessed of my Father and she was
not for God took her
She leaves a husbandfour children
a mother three brothers and three
sisters to mourn her departure
The funeral services took place
from the M E Church in the midst of
a large concourse of sympathizing
people The remains were escorted
to the church by the Modern Wood
men of America Royal Neighbors
and the Epworth League beside
many of the county officials The
services were in charge of the pastor
assisted by Rev Oastler of the Pres
byterian Church The sermon was
preached from I John 32 after
which the body was laid to its quiet
rest in the cemetery west of town
The husband children and relatives
have the tender sympathy of the en
tire community in the hour of their
sore trial and bereavement
But she has crossed the river
She is with the angels now
She has laid aside earths crosses
And the Crown is on her brow
She is clothed in clean white linen
And she walks tie streets of gold
