Paid the Bet
Previous to the election a two-to-one
election bet was made between E J

Wallace Craigie our affable
er If Bryau was elected Craigie
was to wheel Dolan around both

Dolan was to wheel Craigie just
around the lower parade It is a for

On Friday morning at 1145 the
election bet was carried out Jfromin
front of the post office the procession
started out in the following order At

and a low hanging snow cloud carry
ing a banner bearing the inscription

E crack trumpheter of the regiment
came next sounding the McKinley
march in stentorian notes Dolan
poor Dolan then came next his eyes
and cheeks bulged out caused by the
exertion of wheeling the precious 145
pounds of our sainted postmasters
exaggerated weight Edwin Boat
left our eminent saxaphone soloist
brought up the rear playing a very
difficult though inspiring two step of
his own composition but which was
evidently not fully appreciated by the
small dogs or H ana v companies
