Mr. and Mrs. Forest Hard ' nock and Patty visited gardens and fields at Shenandoah, Iowa, Sunday, July 21, with a picnic at the park in Shenandoah. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ayers spent Sunday, July 28, at the Dr. & Mrs. Deppen Ranch with Dr. and wife at Cushing and stopped at Beaver Crossing to attend a baseball tournament. Their son, Kent, was on the team that played Elmwood in the tournament. - Mrs. Lloyd Mickle and Mrs. Ray Schweitzer had ear surgery at the Bryan Memorial Hospital, Friday, July 26. They returned ' home, Sunday, July 28. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Cook were with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook at Weeping Water, Sunday. July 28 for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ganz attended the Cass County T Bone supper at Plattsmouth, . Thursday evening, July 25. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dreamer, Chip and Terrel attended the baseball tournament at Beaver Crossing, Sunday evening. Chip , and Terrel play on the Elmwood team which beat Eagle. Rob E Rosenow seems to have received no serious Injuries from being run over by his parents car Sunday evening, July 21, at their home at Lincoln. Chip and Terrel Dreamer and Wayne Erlckson with their lead er Arthur Roelofsz attended the 4-H camp at the Halsey Camp last week they left by bos Mon day, July 22 and were gone all week. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lee Clark of Lincoln are the parents of a daughter, Myra Jeanine, born Sunday, July 28, Mrs. Easter Clark is the mother of Karl Lee Clark. Mrs. Ruth Taylor left the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vinson the fir.it of the week and is at the home of her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Taylor at Lincoln. Mrs. Elmer Haas fell in the bath tub and cracked a rib, she had xrays at the doctor's office to determine her Injuries. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hasa at tended a family shower for a nephew of Mr. Haas at Lincoln, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Howe, Ardith and Marva drove to Spalding, Nebraska, Sunday, July 28 to the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. McManaman and Becky. Ardith stayed at the home of her sister and family for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Odell were greeters at church July 28. Gall Boettner and Judy Dimmitt were candle lighters and Lori Odell was soloist, Mrs. Vera Sutton. Organist. James Vincent was home on leave from Charlottesville, Vir ginia this week, he drove the 12 miles alone. He left Alv0 Sat urday, July 27. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vinson expected a call Sunday evening to tell of his arrival at Charlottesville. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vinson, James Vinson and Jean Rieck man were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Trunkenbolz at Eagle Thursday, evening, July 25. The First Quarterly Confer ence was held at Prairie Home Sunday evening, July 28. Those attending from Alvo were: Carl Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dimmitt. Mrs. Harold Tlmblin, Edith Braun, Arthur Roelofsz, Lee Copple, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haas. Mrs. Marion Kellogg, Mrs. Walter Vinson and Mrs. Carl Sutton. The Rev. Terry Cain of Green wood preached at Alvo, July 28. The Rev. Carl Spencer of Alvo had the Sunday morning Servi ces at Prairie Home July 28. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Caln lived at Alva In the Alvo Parsonage last summer while the Spencer family was at Lynch, Nebraska. Mrs. Cain and seven weeks old son were with Mr. Cain Sunday morning at church. Skippy Kinney, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Kinney and Tim my Kinney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Kinney of Lincoln visited their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinney of Palmyra this past week. Friday morning, Skippy was bike riding on the road, he hit a rock and fell from the bike, he received a skinned and bruised face and a broken left arm, Just above the wrist. Summer vacation Is the time for relatives to visit. David and Pamela Stickney of Lincoln, children of Mrs. Kindall Dim mitt's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stickney of Lin coln came to the Dimmitt home Friday, July 26, they attended the Stir-Up at Ashland Saturday evening with the Dimmitt family. W. Y. Byers of Lincoln, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sut ton, was with the Ed Hammond fishing party to go trout fish ing to Point Lake in North West Territory of Canada. Byers was successful in landing a 29 lb. lake trout. On their return trip home the fishing party had an extra bonus in viewing the total eclipse of the sun at one of the best vantage points In North Amerlea. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Printz of Lincoln are the parents of a son, Edward Albert, born at the Bryan Memorial Hospital, July 26. The couple have 3 girls. The Printz family lived at Alvo and Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Printz are the grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hermann visited their daughter and son-in-law and family. Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Reimer at Beatrice, Sun day, July 28. The afternoon was spent sight seeing, visiting places of interest in and around Beatrice. The occasion was to celebrate the eighth birthday of their granddaughter, Christ 1 Reimer. -SCOUTS (Continued from Page 1) of Time'' will be shown Aug. 6 at 8; 30 a.m. on Channel 7. This was filmed at the Philmont Scout Ranch In Cimarron, N.M. and is especially Interesting for Scouting families. A family picnic was planned at Steinhart Park at Nebraska City Aug. 25, with dinner start ing at 1 p.m. The Den Mother gave the Secretary and Treasurers re ports. Isaac gave a thunderblrd tie slide to each Scout and Cub as a souvenir from the Philmont Scout Ranch before presenting the following awards: One year service star to Den Chief Ray mond Stander; Identification card to Bobby Masxoth and a hearty welcome to Bobby and his parents Into the Scouting Program; Larry Colbert, Wolf badge; Larry Donovan, Wolf badge; and 1 year service stars to Tommy Stander, Micheal Lau and Dennis Erhart. Refreshments were served by the mothers. Cub Scouts Dennis Erhart, Tommy Stander, Larry Donovan, Steve Massoth and Mike Isaac, Den Chief Raymond Stander and Den Mother. Mrs. E 1 w 1 n Isaac went on the Cub Scout Train Ride to Minden, June 8. The Cub Scouts, Cubmaster El win Isaac and Mrs. Isaac and guests Mrs. Ted Donovan and Kathy spent the afternoon of June 19 at the home of Ray mond and Tommy Stander. Af ter several hours of fishing, everyone enjoyed a picnic din ner. Tommy Stander and Bobby Massoths Birthdays were celebrated. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bower ob served their 46th wedding anni versary and Mr. Bowers birth day Sunday. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Grebe and Russell of Lincoln, Mrs. Everett Bower, Lance, Maria and Car liss, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pol lard, Kim, Kevin, Tammy and Gregg. They spent the remainder ol the afternoon at the Sandy home at York. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Weston and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Proctor attended their Square Dance pic nic in Bethany Park at Lincoln Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farmer returned home Thursday from a vacation spent in western Ne braska and Wyoming. They vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frahm at Lyman and attended church services with the Frahms, also visited Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Dugger, at Broadwater. Enroute there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wilson at Palmer. While at Palmer they called at the home of Rev. and Mrs. H. H. Ut terback but found the Utter back's were vacationing In the Black Hills. Mr. and Mrs. Farm er went to Wray, Colo., to visit cousin's, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bower and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bower. They also visited Mrs. Farmer's sister Mrs. Elmer Rishel and Mr. Rlshel at Chey enne. Enroute home they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Keiser and family at Nelson, Neb. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lambert went to York Sunday and were guests of cousins, Mr .and Mrs. Victor Junge. They were honor- , ing Mrs. Junge's brother Mr. and Mrs. Lorea Carlson and family who are visiting here, coming from Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Pearce of El Cajon, Calif., arrived Thurs day evening for a visit with Mrs. ; Pearce's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bachman and other rela tives. Mrs. Pearce Is the former Iola Bachman. Mrs. R. V. Critchfield came from Baldwin City, Kan., for a stay with her mother, Mrs. Emma Jones at the Bachman home during the Stir-up and rodeo. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cook and sons and Mr. Cook's father. Lawson Cook of Nebraska City, ! were visitors at the Karl Ham mer home Thursday. This Field Laboratory Is a Dark of the old Nebraska Ord' nance Plant. There were several other men from the South Ash land vicinity who attended the tractor meet. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bailey went to Holdrege Saturday for an overnight and Sunday visit with Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Frltzea. MORE Plattsmouth's American Le gion Midget baseball team blew a five-run lead and lost to Syra cuse, (Ml, Wednesday night in the championship game of the District 12 Legion Midget Tourn ament. Playing for a state meet berth. Plattsmouth tallied six runs tn the second for a 6-1 lead. Four hits In the Inning Included Pitcher Jim Wuelling's two run triple and a two-run single by Roger Lanum. Others were singles by Carl Glup and Bill Farrell. Then though, Plattsmouth yielded a run in the last of the second and six In the fourth whan Syracuse Iced the game. Five bits, three errors and a stolen base did the damage. After that. Plattsmouth had only two baserunners and didn't threaten. Syracuse added its last run In the fifth. The District title was the sec ond straight for Syracuse which took almost the same team to second place in the state meet last year. Plattsmouth had won its finals berth Monday night by defeating Hallam. 4-3, behind Roger Hee dum's five-hit pitching. Plattsmouth counter-rallied In the fifth for the winning run after Hallam had scored two in the first of the Inning to tie 3-3. Manlcy To Play in Tourney Next Week MANLEY Jim Dietl, man ager of Manley's Little League baseball team, reports that the team, sponsored by the busi ness men of Manley. will play In the tournament at Nehawka next week.
