They were dinner guests Friday evening o! his mother, Mrs. Winifred Shaw and his grand mother, Mrs. Alletha Uhley. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bigs visited her mother, Mrs. Emma Vonas'k in Wymore over the weekend. On Sunday they drove to Manhattan, Kansas to see the Tuttle Creek Dam. Eighteen members of the Louisville Federated Women's Club attended a Farewell Coffee at the home of Mrs. Richard Streeter honoring Mrs. Larry Sehiessler. The Schiesslers and their three sons, Dan, Mike and Dave have moved from Louis ville to Arlington where Mr. Sehiessler has been promoted to local manager for Omaha Pub lic Power District. Friday afternoon callers of Mrs. Adam Rentschler were Miss Grace Hoover, Mrs. Emll Heier, Miss Laura Schoeman and Mrs. Leora Westfall of Sid ney, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sprague ar.d sons moved Sunday, May 30 to Kansas City, Mo., where Mr. Sprague is employed. Carol Schroeder of Syracuse and Clifford Koch of Dunbar were Tuesday evening callers of Miss Schroeder s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tennant. Friday through Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stander of Murdock were Mrs. Augusta Price of the Lutheran Old Peoples Home in Omaha and Mrs. Minnie Hanson of Ben kleman, Nebraska. They also celebrated Mrs. Price's 82nd birthday while she was there. Leonard Vogler and son LaMar found a buffalo skull at a depth of ten feet In a creek bank and donated It to the Nebraska State Historical 8oclety. Mrs. Anna Stiffler and Mrs. Mary Amelang of Louisville were among those attending the District meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Society Of ficers at Peru, Nebr., on Wed nesday. Miss Evelyn Isaac spent Wed nesday and Thursday with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Eager and sons in Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Whaley of Powell, Wyoming were Wednes day overnight guests of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Whaley. They were enroute to Callaway, Nebraska for a fam ily reunion of Whaley's which will be held Sunday. The Lynn Whaley's will leave Saturday to spend the weekend in Callaway. They will also attend the family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Christian Stohl mann entertained Sunday, June 23 honoring the birthday of their son, David, who is home on leave. Those attending besides his parents, and brother, Ronald were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edgerton and ion Robert, Jr., Ivan Benedict and son, Monte of Lincoln, Stephen Stohlmann and Bryce Kraft. In the afternoon home made ice cream and cake were served. David plans on leaving June 30 driving back to Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina where he has been stationed the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grell and sons, Larry and Terry were Tuesday evening callers at the Calvin Grell home. Mr. and Mrs. John Bogard left Saturday morning to spend a few days fishing at New London, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Meyer and family of Garden Grove, Calif, and Mrs. George Meyer of Nebraska City were supper guests Thursday of the Merle Meyer family. Kathy Meyer is spending this week with Jolene and Marlene Meyer. Sunday the Merle Meyer family Joined a family reunion at the Carrol Meyer home near Avoca honor ing the Hubert Meyer family. Debbie and Nancy Ross and Lois Hansen were guests at a slumber party Thursday night at the home of their cousin, Marion Ross near Nebraska City. 4-11 ORIOLES The 4-H Orioles met at the home of Wayne Bockelman June 22 at 8 p.m. The older members discussed the possibilities of going to the State 4-H Camp at Halsey. Members also discussed "Share the Fun Night." Wayne Bockelman gave a re port on feeding and breeding of swine. The livestock group and the rope group held separate discus sions. Mrs. Bockelman served lunch after the meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be July 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Art Roeloz's. Raymond G. Nixon of Nehawka. was recently promoted to his present rate, while serving aboard the coastal nonmagnetic minesweeper USS Phoebe, oper ating out of Sasebo, Japan. The Phoebe is a unit of the Seventh Fleet and the Pacific Mine Force. Nixon entered the service in June, 1957. T o m m y Ahrens, reporter. j Charg e Now for Dog Disposal Disposal of unlicensed, un claimed, unwanted dogs is now costing the city $2 per (log. In past years, the Nebraska Humane Society, Omaha, has disposed of dogs for the city without charge bu; said this week in a letter to the Mayor and City Council that rising costs of operation make a charge necessary. Last year, the city took 162 dogs to the Society for disposal. The City Council passed a mo tion to continue to take un claimed oogs to the Society.
