' Happy Birthday Club LOUISVILLE (Special) The Happy Birthday Club met at the home of Lizzie Wlldrick June 12. No birthdays were celebrated. Pinochle was played with high prize going to Elsie Tennant; second high, Norma Faubton; low, Alyce Shyrock, and travel ing, Lizzie Wlldrick. There will be no more meet ings until September when one will be held at the home of Alyce Shyrock with the cele bration of Julia Garrison and Lizzie Wildrlck's birthdays. Ed Bierl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bierl, left this morning by car for Modesto, Calif., where he has accepted a posi tion as an accountant for Mara thon Paper Company. Robert Painter was pleasantly surprised on Father's Day by a call from his daughter, Mrs. Richard Dykmann of Scottsbluff. Mr. and Mrs. Dykmann are members of Calvary Lutheran Church of 8cottsbluff. A new church was dedicated Sunday. Mrs. Dykmann directed the choir numbers for the dedication service. About 500 members and friends were in attendance. 95 Complete VBS At Louisville LOUISVILLE (special) 95 children completed a two weeks Vacation Bible School program at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Louisville June 7. The Rev. Theodore V o g e 1 com mented that "Learning About the Bible and that Jesus Christ is Our Savior from sin can be in teresting and fun at the same time." Sessions began with . opening devotions, with the Pastor In traditional vestments, so that the children get the idea of wor ship in the House of God. Pastor Vogel explained, "Our Experi ence with Vacation Bible School is that the children eat It up!" A closing program was given Friday evening by the children and the staff with over 200 k) at tendance. The following were on the staff: Nursery Dept., Mrs. Wayne Wendt, Mrs. James Mc Clun, Mrs. Verle Vogler; Kin dergarten Dept.; Elaine Stohl mann, Mrs. Marvin Wendt, Lllo Sender, Mrs. Francis Neumann; Primary Dept.; Mrs. Paul Luken, Mrs. Verle Brunkow; Junior Dept.: Mrs. Walter Mc Grew, Jr., Mrs. Lee Rau Oaebel, Shirley Cordes, Carol Schlueter, Mrs. Arnold Hell, Charlene Vog ler; Junior High Dept.: Mrs. Clarence Stohlmann, Susan Stohlmann, Janet Schllefert. Besides the regular teachers and helpers some 20 other ladies gave service by providing re freshments each day for the en tire Vacation Bible School and staff. Lutes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer I.utes, last year's Miss Sweet Sixteen. The three-week contest was sponsored by the Mrs. Jaycees. Contributions, a penny a vole for the candidates, will be applied to the Mrs. Jaycee Scholarship Fund. Presbyterian Bible School Presbyterian Vacation Church School met June 3-7 and 10-14. The theme for the year was "The Church." The Kindergarten department teachers were Mrs. Bruce Gold, Jr. and Mrs. John J. Glaze. The helpers were Mrs. George K. Clark, Mellssa'Toman and Mary Ann Dingman. Nineteen children were en- l rolled. The main project was a play church large enough to walk in. The other activities centered around the theme of "The Church." The Primary department teachers were Mrs. Bill How land, Mrs. Beryle Shanholtz, Mrs. John Donan, Mrs. James Heard and Mrs. Inar Jensen. The helpers were Linda Balllng er, Connie Richards, Connie Rhylander, Patsy Schmidt; Yvonne Jochlmsen and Pam Brookhouser. There were 34 pupils enrolled. There were picture studies, Bible studies, stories, memory verses and songs each morn ing. The handwork showed dif ferent ways of spreading the good news of Jesus. The last day the Primary de partment shared songs and memory verses with two shut ins from the congregation. The Junior department had 22 pupils enrolled. During the two weeks the Juniors visited five churches and on the final day visited the Masonic Home and presented two plays and sang several songs. The Juniors ate a sack lunch on the Masonic Home grounds. Teachers were Mrs. Mllo Perry, Mrs. Don Miller, Mrs. Bill Babbitt and Mrs. Dennis Eddy. Helpers were Judy Baum gart and Alice Bober.moyer. Nursery helpers were Linda Arends, Ida Bobenmoyer and Joye McLeod. A short program and dessert picnic followed by an open house Friday, June 14, to close Vaca tion Church School.
