H THE PLATTSmOUTH, NEBRASKA, SENII-WEEKLY JOURNAL PAGE FOUR Thursday, June 6, 1963 Piano, Accordion Recital Tuesday Piano and accordion students of Mrs. Arnold Melsinger pre sented a recital at the Platts mouth Lions Building Tuesday evening, June 4. The program consisted of so los, duets and accordion band numbers. Piano students are Pennl Lee and Vicki Moore. Joyce Puis, Vicki Lynn Mole It and Linda Jones. Accordion students are Jack ie Hunter, Jeannette and Dor othy Lepert, Douglas Stander Cathy and Angelo Holman, San dra Payton, Michael Stastka, John Aschenbrenner, Linda Her re and Larry Jones. Oroup numbers were played by Cathy and Angelo Holman, Douglas Stander, Sandra Pay ton, Jeannette and Dorothy Le pert. The Happy Harmony Accord ion Band from Omaha, direct ed by Mrs. Meisinger, played several numbers. Members ot this group are Linda Johnson, Carol Peterson, Marikay Poll cello, Linda Herre, John Han non, Jack and Terry Lawless and Larry Jones. Mrs. Meisinger received a pink carnation corsage from her students. A A - V A ( . ENGAGED Mr. and Mrs. Lester Felton of Plattsmouth have announced the engage ment of their daughter, Bar bara Lynn, to A-lc Larry Gene Krueger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Krueger, Lincoln, Illinois. A June lfith wedding is planned to be held at the First Methodist Church. NIFTY NELLIES The Nifty Nellies 4-H Club met at the home of their lead er, Mr?. Ted Ohnoutka. Rita Berlett presided at the meeting. The girls cut out their blouse patterns. It was decided to have a picnic June 6. Smith announces the engagement of her daughter. Miss Mary Gertrude Smith to Mr. Ronald L. Gillespie. He Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gillespie, Danville, Illinois. No definite date has been set for the wedding. AVOCA Mrs. Henry Masemsn Gloria Dangler of Lincoln, former Avocan, along with five other teenagers will compete for the title of Queen of the Lincoln Chapter of Merican G. T. Forum. The veterans organ ization of people of Mexican and Spanish descent will compete for the state title at the state convention June 22-23 at North Platte. Wayne Wcssel was at Fort Riley over the weekend. He was separated from the Army. He and his wife and son Scott mov ed to Wayne where he will prac tice dentistry. ' "Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bartels Deshler, Mrs. John Ahrens, Davenport, spent Saturday and Sunday at the Eldon Ahrens home and attended the confirm ation of David Ahrens at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Weep ing Water, Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. John Stubben dick went to Clatonia to help John Reikers observe his 90th birthday and also the 67th wed ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Reikers. Those helping Mrs. Harold Staack celebrate her birthday were Mr. ar.d Mrs. Clarence Staack and son, Mrs. Christine Staack, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Neu meister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Geschke and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ludwlg and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Doden hof. Piano Recital By Mrs. Lutz' Students Th2 piano students of Mrs. Glenn E. Lutz presented a re cital t the Plattsmouth Hlt;h S-.'hool Auditorium June 4. Deborah Steward presented Mrs. Lutz with floral arrange ment of pink gladiolas and pur ple asters, a gift from the stu dents. Oiher stage decorations were, yellow chrysanthemums and pink peonies. Dennis Bernhardt, Lyle Muss man, John Cloidt, Jr., Stephen Miller, John Bernnardt and Galen Mussman ushered, and during the performance took turns in escorting each student to the piano. Pupils participating In the re cital were Ann and Bill Knorr, Marty and Donny Ogg, Oalen iand Lyle Mussman, Ruth, Joye and Kathryn McLeod, John, Alan and Dennis Bernhardt, Tommy and Stephen Miller, Susan Ofe, Diborah Steward, Kathy Austin, Ricky Kaffenber gcr, Sheri Hopkins, Brent Shan holtz, Cheryl Wilson, Caroline Hazen, John and Monica Cloidt, Marilyn and Keith Edwards, Susan Lutz, Kiley Armstrong, and Kathy Taylor. Also Ronald Hutchinson, Em my Lu Love, Rebecca and Christine Bruns, Leslie Nettel mann, Kevin Case, Cynthia Bog ley, Virginia Smock, Kathy Os trom, and Victoria Lepert. Duets were played by Kevin Case and Stephen Miller; Bill Knorr and Donny Ogg: Cynthia Begley and Monica Cloidt. A piano trio was rendered by Ann Knorr, Tommy Miller and Marty Ogg. In closing, a duo-piano ar rangement was played by Oalen and Lyle Mussman. Keep In Touch Mrs. Marguerite Smith and son Dennis left Sunday for a vacation in California. Weeping Water High School Has Alumni Banquet WEEPING WATER (Special) The annual Weeping Water High School Alumni Banquet was held on Saturday evening in the basement of the Cass County Agricultural Building with 309 in attendance. ' The banquet was served by the members of the WSCS There were 275 places set for the banquet and with 309 turn ing out, an emergency arose for a short time. The extra places were set in everyone was served a tasty dinner.
