Alt, Special ....... $144 .33c I VFW Auxiliary Has Initiation Tuesday Night Initiation marked the meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars held Tuesday night at the VFW Club. Norma Wilson, president, con ducted the business session. Serving pro-tem was Pearl Myers, patriotic Instructor, De loma Kaffenberger, Stella Quin- nett and Mary Hennings, color bearers and Margaret Fitch, secretary. Initiation ceremonies were conducted Dy the omcers ana Helen Steeby was accepted as a member of the Auxiliary. Several thank you notes were read, from Charles Ault in be half of the Cub Scout troop 399 and their parents for assistance given them by Auxiliary and Junior members at their dinner held recently, from Edith Hell wig and Tommie Ayior for gifts received. Other communications acted upon and filed. In the reports of committees, membership chairman Sophia Wolever announced 10 members as delinquent but would be con tacted again. Mary Nelson, poppy chair man, announced Poppy Day would be held In May, and plans were forming for the sale of Buddy Popnies. Leonard Lutz is chairman of the Veterans Poppy sales. Youth activities chair man, Pearl Myers, reported to the Auxiliary of the slumber party held at her home for the Junior girls, of Juniors assisting at a dinner, and plans for a band to be formed in the near future. Charlotte O'Donnell reported on gifts and cards sent to ill members. Lillian Dasher, on National Home, and Margaret Fitch on rehabilitation gave their re ports. Announcement made of the Aluminum adjustable crutches, and childs wheel chair with brakes that was recently pur chased by the Junior unit with proceeds from sales of maga zines. Department convention will be held June 23 through the 25th at Grand Island. Election of officers will be held in April, Installation in May and new officers to fill their re spective stations following de partment convention. Discussions ' held on several projects tnat are scheduled on the Auxiliary program, with final plans to be completed at the next meeting. Meeting adjourned, with the retiring of the colors, and a so cial hour followed. Cookies and coffee were served from a table arrar.ged in the Easter motif. An Easter Bunny centered the table. Hostesses were Margaret Fitch, Deloma Kaffenberger, Alpha Muncie, Helen Vroman, Mary Hennings and Blanche Sutton. Bingo was played and prizes awarded to Milada Uher, Mary Barnard, Stella Quinnett, Lillian Dasher, Norma Wilson, Mar garet Fitch and Alpha Muncie. Circle One Meets At St. Paul's Circle One of St. Paul's United Church of Christ met at the church parlors for their one o'clock luncheon and meeting. Hostesses were Mrs. Ford Helm, Mrs. Anna Meisinger and Mrs. Alvin Meisinger. There were 16 members and two vis itors present. Mrs. P. A. Meisinger gave the devotional and Scripture Verse's by Mrs. Muller. The business meeting was led by the chairman, Mrs. Otto Pitz, and Mrs. Carl Kraeger. Plans were made for the luncheon and bake sale at the church April 6. Door prize was drawn by Mrs. P. A. Hild. Meeting closed by all repeating the Lord's Prayer. The lesson was given by Mrs. Enno Ahrens and Mrs. Carl Kraeger. Next meeting will be April 16 with Mrs. P. A. Hild. Mrs. Entio Ahrens and Mrs. Clara Fornoff as hostesses. Social Security Man Here March 27 The social security representa tive from Lincoln, A. J. Piccolo, will visit Plattsmouth March 27. He will be at St. John's Hall on Main Street from 9 to 1 p.m. Piccolo, reminds Social Secur ity beneficiaries who have total earnings in excess of $1,200 for 1962 to file an annual report with the social security office before April 15, 1963. If you earned less than $1,200 last year and did not receive all your Social Security checks you must file a report to get the checks due you. You do not have to file a re port if ynu did not earn over $1,200 in 1962, or you were ove; age 72 the entire year. A Classified Ad in The Journal cost as little as 50 cents.
