IOOF At Weeping Water Have Installation WEEPING WATER (Special) A Joint installation service was held on Wednesday evening In the IOOF Lodge hall for the Installing of the new officers of the Rebekah and Odd Fellow Lodges. The Nehawka Lodge were the Installing officers. The officers Installed for the Rebekah Lodge were: Noble Grand, Mrs. Laurence House man; vice-grand, Mrs. Ross Klnton; secretary, Mrs. Emery Hansen; treasurer, Mrs. A. H. Jacobsen. Odd Fellow officers Installed were Rasmus Lauritzen, Jr., Noble Grand; Mogcns Johnson, vice-grand; Rasmus Lauritzen, Sr. secretary and Ross Klnton, treasurer. Other offices In both lodges are appointed. Guests from the Nehawka and Louisville lodges were present. Refreshments were served at the close of the installation ser vice. Mother's Afternoon Out Extension Club With Mrs. Finley WEEPING WATER (Special) Mother's Afternoon Out Ex tension Club met on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. William Finley. There were nine members ad five children pre sent. Mrs. Owen Burger, the new president, presided at the meet ing. Mrs. Robert Schlosser is the new secretary. Mrs. Burger gave a safety article on "Facts In Emergency, such as heart at tack, etc. Mrs. Willis Lorensen presented the lesson on "How to Read Bargain Ads." She gave a prize for the one knowing and identifying Well Known com mercials. Mrs. Burger won this prize. Roll call was answered by "A favorite Commercial. Mrs. Kenneth Boyd led in the group singing of "Smiles." The members discussed the goals for the new year and yearbooks were given out. The goals are to help the City Library and the County Retarded School. The Feb. 20 meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Ken neth Boyd. Mrs. Finley served a tasty lunch. CWF Has Meeting WEEPING WATER (Special) The general meeting of the Christian Women's Fellowship met la the church parlors. Mrs. Ralph Hyde, president, opened the meeting with group singing and prayer. Mrs. Henry Irons accompanied for the sing ing. Roll call was answered by the 14 members on what will hap pen in the CWF in 1963-64. Mrs. Hyde conducted a mem orial service for Mrs. Louis Bur bee. Thank you cards were read from ones who received the Christmas boxes of fruit and cookies. Mrs. Harold Cummlngs pre sented the missionary lesson on I the topic, "Growing Up or Grow ! Ing Old." She was ln charge of a play with Mrs. Irons, Mrs. David Baxter, Mrs. William Klemme, Mrs. Henry Knaup and , Mrs. Cyrus Livingston taking parts. Mrs. Leon Bond present ed the worship service, using the same topic. Mrs. Victor Schwarz led ln the lesson on "Paul's Roman Sandals." The meeting closed ' with the CWF benediction. Host 1 esses were Mrs. John Rleke, Mrs. Victor Plunkett, Jr. and Mrs. Eanos Plunkett. Center Extension j The Center Extension Club met Jan. 24 at the home of Mrs. F.ldon Panska with Mrs. Paul Stander as Co-hostess. Ten , members answered roll call by naming the biggest bargain they : had purchased. Mrs. Roy Steln- kamp was a guest. Mrs. L. Herbert Stander was appointed Health and Safety Leader, and read an article on health and medicine. CIIA-MAV-KI-YA The Cha-May-Ki-Ya Camp Fire group held their meeting at the home of their leader, Mrs. Richard Jones. Officers were elected for the second half of the year. They are as follows: president, Mary Brink; vice president, Linda .Dillon; secretary, Diane Jones; treasurer, Mary Mcuiananan; scribe, Judith Ohnoutka. AVOCA (Special) A 4-H Club meeting was held at the Elvin Emsholf home Saturday. Officers elected: Janice Bruns, president; Suellen Emshoff, vice president; Shirley Meyer, secretary-treasurer. Behrns an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara Ann, to Da vid Roger Kendall, son of Mrs. Myrtle Kendall and the late Da vid F. Kendall of Union. Miss Behrns, a 1961 graduate of Nehawka High School, has attnded Peru State Teachers College and is now enrolled 'n Fairbury College, majoring in Elementary Education. Mr. Kendall, a 1959 graduate of Nehawka High School, at tended the University of Ne braska and is now farming near Union. A late summer wedding Is planned. Barbara Ann Behrns South Bend Mrs. (ess Fidler Mrs. Roy Richards, 70, died Thursday evening, Jan. 24, In the Lutheran Hospital at Omaha where she had been a patient for several weeks following a stroke. Funeral services were held Mon day afternoon at the Ashland Methodist Church. Burial was ln the Ashland Cemetery. The annual meeting of the Cass County Cooperative Coun cil was held Jan. 23 at the EUB Church at Elmwood. The din ner meeting was for all direc tors, managers, employees and their wives. Gordon Bushboom, Council Secretary gave a report on the Council activities. A re presentative of the Omaha Bank of Co-operatives gave a talk on public relations for co-operatives.
