Graves re ceived a letter and a memorial card from an old friend, Frank Churchill of Yakima, Wash., ad vising of the death of his broth er, Charles L. Churchill, from a stroke. Charles was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Churchill, former residents of the Rock Bluff vicinity before they mov ed to Bickelton, Wash. Mr. Churchill was born in April, 1880. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harvey and Linda were Sunday evening callers of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Worthan. The Bob Spangler family were Saturday evening callers of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Scudder of Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Havley Sayers attended the regular monthly meeting of their Pinochle Club group at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hanika of Omaha Sat urday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farls feel deeply grateful and thankful to their neighbors, Jim Sampson, and the Murray Fire Dept. for their quick action and help in averting a fire tragedy at their home last Thursday afternoon. The smoke fumes were bad, but Mrs. Faris reports they have Just about rid the house and cleaned their clothing of that. Mr. and Mrs. Art Uhe enter tained Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Ackern to a delicious oyster stew dinner Friday evening af terwards they played several games of Wa-Hoo than Mrs. Uhe served a lunch. Kim Bell was an overnight guest of Tom Spangler last Fri day night. The Rev. Joseph Barr attend ed a business meeting at Cedar Creek Sunday evening. The Crusaders Class of the Christian Church held a covered dish luncheon Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Nickles. Mrs. Fred Campbell is the teacher of the class. Leslie Potts of Plattsmouth and Charles Mead attended the Masonic Lodge meeting at Ne braska City last Friday evening. It was an installation of offic ers. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Ackern were Monday evening supper guests of the Ardon Ruhmann's. Junior Fairlanders SOUTH ASHLAND (Special) The Junior Fairlanders Exten sion Club held their January meeting at the home of Mrs. Orie Sowards. All but two mem bers were present.
