Game time Is 8 o'clock after the Reserves of the schools have played at 6:30. Like the Devils, Blair has been on vacation since before Christmas. Word was received here of the death of Mrs. Myrtle Ogden. She was the wife of Orvllle Ogden " of Holyoke, Colo., and were for-i mer residents here. Yelick Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec 29 at Cald well Mortuary for James V. Ye lick, Sr. 1120 Ave. A, who died at his home Dec. 27. The Rev. J. W. Scott of the First Methodist Church offici ated at the service. Organ music was furnished during the service by Mildred Hall, a niece of Mr. Yelick. Pallbearers were Donald Ye lick, Hurless Yelick, Ronald Ye lick, Larry Yelick, Darrell Lea cock, and John Carr, all grand sons of Mr. Yelick. James V. Yelick was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Oct. 28, 1882. He came to Plattsmouth at the age of seven with his par ents and brothers and sister in the year 1890 where he has since resided. He was married In 1902 at Plattsmouth to Alma Rishel. Surviving are his wife, Alma; Sons, Raymond of San Bruno, Calif., Robert of Fresno, Calif., Floyd of Glendale, Calif., Rich ard of Kansas City, Mo., Theo dore and James Jr. of Platts mouth, Edward of Des Moines. Ia., and Frank of Omaha, Nebr. Daughters; Mrs. J. H. (Edithi Leacock of Lincoln. Mrs. Earl 'Margaret) Carr of Plattsmouth, Mrs. Oeorge ( Florence I Dor land of Greely, Colo. Also 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. While serving as a machinist for L. C. Sharpe he patented a mail service device which is in use by the railroads today. He iUo assembled and perfected the first Ice Cream Cone mach ine and the first Seamless Can machine. Mr. Yelick was also a carpenter and master mechanic, employed at the Burlington Shops for a number of years. He was preceded In death by one son, Thomas, who died in in fancy; his parents and two bro thers and a sister. Burial was in Oak Hill Ceme tery. Rainbow Cirls WEEPING WATER (Special) The Rainbow Girls met on Friday night in the Odd Fel lows Lodge for the annual Christmas party, Susie Nichols, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols and Vicky Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Baker Jr. were initiated into the Rainbow Girls. Mary Alice Wood, Worthy Ad visor, presided at the meeting. Following the Initiation the girls had a gift exchange. Mrs. Eugene Domingo, mother advis or, gave each girl a gift and Oscar Domingo, Rainbow Dad passed out candy. Alice Laurltzen and Bevely Lee presided at the serving table where refreshments of cookies, sandwiches and punch were served. Latest reports from the bed side of Bobby Harrah are that he Is now able to be on crutches! a little each day. Bobby had the misfortune of Injuring his kneej nearly two weeks ago and was taken to the Orthopedic Hos pital at Lincoln, where he un derwent surgery last Wednes day, Dec. 26th. Mrs. Sarah Rich and twin daughters were guests- of Mr. and Mrs. Donald McQuin on Christmas Eve. On the follow ing Wednesday evening they drove to Weeping Water where they visited Rev. Clayton Severn and family and on Saturday evening they were eests of Mr. and Mrs. R. 8. Harris where they enjoyed a Chili 8upper. Journal Want Ads Pay Former Nehawka Couple, Children Injured in Crash NEHAWKA (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Melvln Sturm, former Nehawka residents, and their two granchildren, Jackie and Billy Reece, all of Ashland, suf fered serious injuries when their car was hit broadside by an other car at a rural Intersec tion near Ashland Monday noon. It was necessary to take off the car door and cut the dash board to release Mrs. Sturm. She has two broken arms and a broken leg. Mr. Sturm has a double frac ture of the pelvic bone. Jackie Reece had severe face lacerations and was released from Bryan hospital Tuesday. Billy Reece is Improved fol lowing shock and an attack of asthma, which made his condi tion serious for a time. j All were taken to the Bryan hospital in Lincoln. !
