They went on to Ogalalla and Dalton where they visited a 95-year-old sister-in-law of Mrs. Neumels ter. Sunday they attended a Schiller iamily reunion where there were 76 attending. They returned home Monday evening. Mrs. Pearl Kilbourne of Beli, California and Mrs. William Kunz were caller of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baker, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rhodes and family of Kearney visited on Monday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stratton, Monty and Susan. . Mr. and Mrs. Peter Garner of Blue Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Lyal Fleming were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Fleming and family of Paplllion honoring Steven on his 9th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Akeson were hosts to a picnic dinner on Sunday. The guests were their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Buskirk of San Ra fael, California, Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen and Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harmon and girls and Mrs. Carl Tefft. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lane, Linda and Nick moved to Lin coln on Saturday where Mr. and Mrs. Lane are employed. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holscher of Cook and Mrs. Ed Freeman were Wednesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Free man and family honoring Paula Freeman on her twelfth birth day. Mrs. Frank Nickels and Velda and Patricia Jordan of Platts mouth were Friday afternoon guests of Mrs. Edward Van Horn and Carol and their house guest, Carol Stewart. Mrs. Wayne Pederson enter tained ten members of the Jun ior Woman's Club to a coffee. Mrs. W. N. Roberts and Mrs. Neil Fitzpatrick and children were extra guests. Mrs. Laura Kelly and Miss Myrtle John of Kearney and Mrs. Ray Hill of Arcadia spent from Monday night until.Wed-. nesday with Mr. and Mrs'Jo seph John to help their brother, Mr. John celebrate his birthday on Tuesday. They brought two decorated birthday cakes for the celebration. His granddaughter, Patricia K o e n 1 g of Lincoln called to wish him "Happy Birthday." Mrs. Ha'tie Sperry celebrated her 85th birthday on Saturday at the Rest Haven Home. Mr. Kenneth Dokter baked and dec orated a cake lor her in the shape of an open Bible. Callers to wish her a happy birthday were Mrs. Henry Knaup, Mrs. Gordon Willcoxen, Mrs. H. I. Rookstool, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Sperry of Lincoln and Mrs. James Power and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hollen berger entertained at a dinner the past Sunday honoring Mr. and Mrs. Harold Blaikie on their 37th wedding anniversary. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Elton Blaikie and family, John Sweenie of Springfield and Lynn Sweenie of Broken Bow. Mr. and Mrs. David Olive and Mark of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Emily Olive. Shirley Upton and Carol Nick els took John Van Horn and Tim Michelsen swimming at Syra cuse Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Baxter of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. David Baxter, Ronald and Kenneth and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bond and Ricky of Louisville were gone over two weeks on a trip to the World's Fair, Canada and many places of Interest. They returned home Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Baxter of Chickasha, Oklahoma are visit ing with Mr. and Mrs. Buster Baxter and boys of Avoca. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bond and Ricky of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. David Baxter and boys. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Van Horn were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Horn and family. Mr. and Mrs. Al Bickford and girls of Lincoln were Friday eve ning guests of Mrs. Al Bickford. Mrs. William Klemme was a Friday guest of Mrs. August Klemme. Charles Gibson was able to be down town during the fair after being hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Burger and children and their house guests. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bortz of Bellaire, Kansas were in Om aha on Tuesday. Mrs. Merle Davison and Mrs. L. J. Lane visited on Monday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Reed. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bruns of Dunbar were Friday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bruns and family. Gail, Karen and Carolyn Bruns sang a song at the Friday evening program at the County Fair. Carolyn also sang a solo accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Freeman. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stelnkamp and family of Louisville were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stelnkamp. Cathy Callahan of Platts mouth spent the weekend with Mrs. Helen Callahan and Ann. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hinch of Burlington, Kansas visited with his two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Ren ner and Mrs. Al Bickford. They were all Friday supper guests of Mrs. Bickford. Friday afternoon and supper guests of Miss Lola Allen were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Woechel of Alvo. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Woitzel recently joined a family picnic at Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller of Kansas City and Mrs. Ronald Manbeck and children of Lin coln spent Saturday evening at the C. W. Osburn home, Mrs. Miller will be remembered as Janice Manbeck formerly of Greenwood. A weiner roast picnic was held at the Glen Boiler home In Lin coln recently in honor of 3 birth days. Those honored were Mrs. Glen Boiler, Richard Rodeasla ben and Fred Pallas. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ferdie Radenslaben and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pallas, Mrs. Mar tha Anderson and Tim Pallas all of Ceresco, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Radenslaben and family of Ash land, Mr. and Mrs. Charles An derson and baby of Wahoo, Mr. and Mrs. Frank V. Anderson of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Radenslaben and family and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Boiler and Ro bert of Greenwood and Glen Boiler of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ajena and family were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Vest of Lincoln. Mrs. Harry Maughan spent a week visiting at Chicago and Algona, Wis. and Mr. and Mrs. Maughan returned recently from a weeks vacation spent at the Lake of Ozarks. Gary Maughan has finished his army service and is employ ed at the American Stores of Lincoln. Gary and his wife are at the Harry Maughan home at present. Sunday visitors at the C. W. Osburn home were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Osburn and family of Gretna and Mrs. Ted Bulling and children of Lincoln. Addi tional afternoon visitos were Mrs. Lassie Billings and Ramona of Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Woitzel called on Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Abbott Sunday afternoon. LeRoy Tinnean and Leroy Love have returned to their school at Milford. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kirk were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fitzgerald and Susan Lloyd To State Fair NEHAWKA (Special) Mary Llndsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lindsey, received a purple ribbon at the Cass Coun ty fair at Weeping Water for her winter ensemble and will represent the county at the State Fair In Lincoln at the Style Review. Mary's dress was of avacado! green wool flannel, tailored, with a shaped yoke outlined with stitching, the yoke formed a drop shoulder with below el bow sleeves. Large buttons trim med the front of the waist. Her accessories were of brown. Mary received a second purple on a. dress up dress, which was a sheath dress with a Jacket, a purple on her entomology exhi bit and also on her home living unit, storage in your room. She placed first In clothing judging and will compete in the state judging contest. All of her exhi bits will be entered in the State Fair. The Goering family have moved to Omaha. Mrs. J. Brennan and family of Michigan are visiting her sister and family and father, Mr. Fred Rueter this week. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Lewis left Saturday morning,, to return home to Tehachapi, California, where Mr. Lewis teaches. Mrs. Mildred Comstock at tended a dessert luncheon at the home of Mrs. Feme Stege, pre ceding the Executive Board meeting of American Legion Auxiliary of District 12. Mrs. Kathryn Wehr, District Presi dent was in charge of business meeting where plans were made for District Convention in Platts mouth Sept. 29. Mrs. Comstock is Cass County President. Mrs. Wehr also assisted the hostess. Mrs. Mildred Comstock at tended the Golden Wedding open house for Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ulstrup at Legion Hall in Ash land Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Bates and daughters of Lincoln spent Fri day evening at the Comstock home in observance of Mrs. Comstock's birthday. The Ruth Circle met Tuesday at the Methodist Church with 9 members present. Mrs. John Downing gave the lesson. Mrs. Clara Pershing and Mrs. Dora Miller were hostesses. The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service will have a guest day at the Methodist Church September 4, 2 p.m. The Society from Waverly, Ashland, Alvo and Cedar Hill are Invited guests. Frank Hurlbut entered Bryan Memorial Hospital Saturday for observation and treatments. Mr. and Mrs. William Buck moved from their country home to the home they bought in Greenwood which was formerly occupied by Mrs. Louise Ander son, deceased. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Bucking ham spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cooper of Crete. They attended the Sa line Co. fair that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper just recently moved to Crete. Weekend guests of Mrs. Norma McNurlin , were Mrs. George Brandes and Carolyn Shook of Wichita. Additional Sunday dinner guests were Mrs. Nell Anderson cf Lincoln and Mrs. NeUie McDonald.
