Their children, Mrs. Yvonne Fairfield and Mrs. Sherry Keil, both of Omaha and Bob were the hosts. The affair was an open house celebration from two to five. Guests were from Nebras ka City," Crete, Hallam, Lincoln, Omaha, Louisville, Plattsmouth and Syracuse. The three-tiered cake, punch, coffee, mints and nuts were served. Many lovely gifts and cards were received by the couple. They were married at Tapillion July 31, 1937. They have lived in plattsmouth eight years. Lewiston Club At Albin Home The Lewiston Social Circle Club met at the home of Beulah Albin with Minnie Schriber as co-hostess. There were 12 mem bers and three guests present. Meeting opened with the flag salute and closed with the Lord's Prayer. ClaralCampbell gave the de votions. - Members each brought two dozen cookies, and Mary Gobel man took them to the Nursing Home Ui Union. The hostesses served lunch. Next -meeting will be at the home of Mary Gobelman Sept. 10 with Mable Wolf as co-hostess. K. Schroeder home. Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder and Carol have just returned from a visit with their soft" Ronald at the naval base at New Iberia, La. He accompanied them on to Florida then visited New Orleans and back to the base. Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder stop ped in Kansas City and were overnight guests at the Arnold Dakon home. Christian Church Ladies Meet MURRAY (SpecU a 1) The Murray Christian Church CWF group met at the home of Mrs. Bob Spangler Tuesday evening. Nine members were present. Kearns Post 56 when they met in regular session In the 40 Si 8 Club Rooms. Mrs. Russell Schalk, presi dent, presided. Mrs. Sophia Wolever served as color bearer in the absence of Mrs. John Schutz. Committee reports were as follows: Americanism chairman, Mr3. Carl Zimmerman, asked the members to nolce how the pop ular magazines are presenting so many good articles on Flag Etiquette. As a patriotic organ ization, Mrs. Zimmerman urged all to display the flag often, and suggested the unit send a letter to WOW radio station In appre-j ciation for the flag salute given each morning. Courtesy chairman, Mrs. Eu gene Vroman, reported sending 8 cards, 2 cards and hankies to members In the hospital. Mrs. Vroman also reported on the volunteer hospital workers who work at the hospital twice each month. Junior Chairman, Mrs. Donald Warga, reported the juniors will have a. meeting next week to se lect officers and change of meet ing date. Membership co-chairman, Mrs. Sophia Wolever, re ported 34 senior dues and 4 jun ior dues paid to date. Music chairman, Mrs. James Drennen, will use the Auxiliary song and hymns of the month at each meeting. A bulletin on the Department Convention was read from Dis trict President, Mrs. A. C. Wehr, District 12 won a membership trophy. Plattsmouth won an ex cellent award. The Executive Committee of the district made a resolution that any person attending the district convention not paying registration will not be allowed to vote. A thank-you note was read from Mrs. Merle Dean Meising er. Mrs. Schalk announced the committee working on the Queen Candidates Reception to be held Saturday, Sept. 1, will be Mrs. Milton Muncie, chairman. Assisting her will be Mrs. Schalk, Mrs. Eugene Krings, Mrs. Karl Grosshans, Mrs. Mel vin Moritz, Mrs. John Kalasek and Mrs. Eugene Vroman. General orders were read and filed. Thank you notes were, re ceived from Gladys Kemp, Lil lian Alkire and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Troop. In the reports of chairman of the various projects: Ruth Bobenmoyer announced that several more activities would be held for the cancer fund. One dollar per member Is the quota needed. Sophia Wolever, membership chairman reported 21 members were f aid up for 1963 and that dues are now due and payable, and may be sent to her, or a member may call, and they will be picked up at their home. Patricia B a b u r e k, hospital chairman, reported on the pic nic held at the VA hospital, of the escort service conducted, and that the bingo party would be held August 30, at the VA Hospital in Omaha. Mary Nelson announced no plans were completed for Poppy day In November, and announ cement would be made later. Charlotte O'Donnell gave the courtesy report, and announced Helen Vroman had been 111. Marge Willis made a report on the entertainment activity, and Sophia Wolever announced the remodeling of the kitchen had been started by a member of the Post. The auxiliary will sponsor the reception for the King and Queen following the Kornation at the King Korn Karnival. Discussion was held concern ing purchasing a flag for a group organization in the com munity. The project was tabled for further details in purchas ing the flag, for the price quot ed with discussion continued for new flags needed for the aux iliary and the Junior unit. The group voted to award a years dues at meetings, by con ducting a drawing. The member must be present to win, and only one drawing held at each meeting. Blanche Sutton contributed $5 and Clara Price $2 to the Cancer Fund. Margaret Fitch department community service chairman the past year was awarded a charm bracelet from national for participation In the commu nity service program. Lorna Rains was presented to the new members In attend ance. Mrs. Rains has been In England for the past four years. Meeting adjourned with the retiring of the colors, and a social evening was spent with games conducted by Sophia Wol ever and Marge Willis, prizes awarded to Lorna Rains, Maxlne Bowman. Pearl Myers, Norma Wilson and Marge Willis. Hostesses Maxine Bowman, Edith Akeson Evelyn Piper, Elizabeth Bruns, June Bowman and Rachel Groves served ice cream and Iced tea, from a table centered with flowers. lAnion The La-Ta-Ha-Ma Camp Fire girls and their leader, Mrs. George Stine held their camp- out Tuesday and Wednesday on the Clarence Beccard farm. Mrs. Beccard was an overnight guest on Tuesday when Cheryl Hartman passed from Trail Seeker to Wood Gatherer Rank. Linda Gannaway and Peggy Surface, new members of the group, received neckerchiefs and slides at the same ceremony. The group returned to their homes Thursday morning. The Everett Family Reunion was held on Sunday. Aug. 19 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gobleman with 99 attending this happy event of relatives and friends. Guests were from Union Avoca, Plattsmouth, Omaha, Lincoln, Nebraska City, Howe; Murray, Lexington and from Iowa; Souix City, Hamburg and Shelby. George Edmisten of Ne braska City, who is 82 years old, was the oldest guest present The youngest guest was Todd Eugene Everett 11 days old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Everet Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lechner and family attended the Kansas City, New York Yankee ball game at Kansas City last Satur day. They spent the weekend visiting relatives in Kansas City Mrs. Todd received a call from Mrs. E. M. Rathe of Omaha that she has another great-grand daughter who was bcrn to Mr. and Mrs. Norma Hen.lrix (Wil ma Rathe) at the Methodist Hospital Aug. 21. t Shower Honors Jay D. Druecker And Miss Hall MURRAY (Special) A mis cellaneous bridal shower was given the evening of Aug. 16 at the Murray Christian Chiurch parlors for Jay Dee Druecker and Miss Jane Hall of Scotts bluff. Sixty guests were present A mock wedding was held as entertainment for the evening. The little folks who participated in it were Roger Rice as bride groom; Pam Rogers the bride; Roddy Beil the bridesmaid; Jeff Fitzpatrick the bridegroom's at tendant; Tim Spangler, ring bearer; Leann Sayers, flowergirl. and George Gruber the minister. Ellen Sack and Cindy Rogers sang "Let Me Call You Sweet heart" accompanied by Cindy Fitzpatrick at the piano. After the "wedding ceremony" the bride and groom Roger Rice and Pam Rogers returned ap propriately attired as a couple celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss. They were seated in rock ing chairs and rocked as Mrs. Mildred Chriswisser sang "Silver Threads Among the Gold," ac companied on the piano by her daughter. Refreshments of jello, cake, punch and coffee were served. Mr. Druecker and Miss Hall were married Sunday in the Methodist Church, Scottsbluff. dlvD Mrs. Wilson Howe THE MAIiLETIERS A quartet from Westmar College, Le Mars, Iowa, the Marleliers, will sing at Mynard El'B Church Aug. ! 31 at 8 p.m. The boys, selected from the college chorus of Westmar, have traveled through 13 states this summer. They will sing an thems, hymns, Negro spirituals and folk songs as well as popular n rid old favorite numbers. Missouri are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nickel this week during Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nickel's vacation. Sgt. Rains And Family Home -After Five-Year-Tour Sgt. and Mrs. Donald Rains and daughters Susan and Vir ginia are houseguests of his mo ther Mrs. Pearl Myers, Platts mouth. The visitors will be here until Thursday. His new assign ment is Communication Elect ronics School, Lackland AFB. Texas. They left Plattsmouth July, 1957; have been stationed in Naples, Italy with headquarters Allied Forces Southern Europe until 1960. They saw many tour ist attractions such as Rome. The Vatican, American Ceme tery at Anzio, Italy, The Lean ing Tower of Pisa, Capri. While in Naples they met M Sgt. Glen White and family, also from Plattsmouth. In February 1960 Srt. Rains was transferred to RAF Sta tion Lakeheath, England. Here they visited London, American Cemetery at Cambridge, Eng land and many other places of interest. Countries visited during their five-year tour included the A zores, Spain, Casablanca, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany and England Sgt. and Rains and family also visited his brother, the Art Rains family at Alvo.
