Elmwood Churches ELMWOOD (Special (-Church notes: Evangelical United Brethren: The special anthem by the choir was "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus." The Rev. Mr. Schroe cler's sermon was "Look F'lease, God's Children." The Schroe der family are attending the Senior High Camp this week at Riverside Park at Mllfortl. The WSWS meeting was Wednesday and Jackie Kou'sky and Marie Rosenow gave reports. Mrs. Elda Lenz, vice president, had charge of the business meeting. The Sen ior MYF spent Sunday after noon at Nebraska City for swim ming and picnic supper. Christian: The Missionary Bd. had charce of the services. Da la Hall sang "I Heard the Voice of Jesus." They cooked three camp-out meals for passing of rank. This year's officers were president, Alvin Backemeyer, Greenwood;' vice president, Hen ry Knaup, Weeping Water; sec retary, William Klemme. Ne hawka; treasurer, Maynnrd Brummer, Lincoln. While in Ill inois, they visited at the home of her brother, the Don Myer family of Chicago. Little Mark stayed with his grandparents, the Everett Spanglers of Omaha. Friday night, the Murray Mav ericks went to Weeping Water where they participated in the Share-the-Fun Contest and won a blue ribbon. Members who attended were Chris Spangler, Bill Spangler, Tom Schlichte meier, David Morris, Allen Wohl fanh, Dale Nickles, Lonnie Hos char and Jesse James. Overnight guests of the Char les Spangler family were Mrs. Spangler's cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Searl, Bob and Tom of Gaithersburg, Md. They were enroute to Denver where Mr. Searl was to represent the At omic Energy Commission at a Western Resources meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thompson were Sunday dinner guests of their son, Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson. In the afternoon, they visited Mrs. Thompson's mother, Mrs. Metta Ray who is a patient at Clarkson Hospital. A birthday picnic supper was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Havley Sayers in honor of Leann's third birthday. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Har old Sayers, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoschar and Dana, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Everett, Danny, Tim, and Todd. Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Gerdes of Union and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sayers of Platts mouth. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker and Billy of Plattsmouth were Sun day afternoon callers of the Havley Sayers. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Ackern were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cundall. Sunday dinner and lunch gu ests of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rog ers were her cousins Mr. and Mrs. Dale Moon, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Klingman of Winterset, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Rogers and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Rogers and family. Small fry Leann Sayers spent Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Van Ackern of Plattsmouth. In the evening her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Havley Sayers, joined the Van Ackerns and they all went to Omaha for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Tilson and family were Sunday after noon callers at the Delmer Fra is home. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Ferry of Cashmere, Wash., visited a few days last week wi'h Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Leyda. Mrs. Henry Seir and her dau ghter, Mrs. Ed Kucera and boys of Bassett were guests of Mrs. Seir's brother and family, the Delmar Farise6, Saturday night and Sunday. They had partici pated in the Horse Show at Lin coln Sa'urday sponsored by the American Legion. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Campbell were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Buehler and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Beuhler, all of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rakisitf and family of Glendale, Calif., arrived Saturday morning at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Will Rice for a 10-day visit with relatives. Mrs. Sheldon Smith and Carol and Mrs. Donna Campbell were in Lincoln Thursday. Dorothy, ' Karen and Sharon Farls visited friends at Arlington Saturday and stayed overnightj Mr. and Mrs. Will Minford left Sunday morning on a Here ford Tour of the Sand Hills area of Nebraska. Mrs. Otto Puis, mother of Charles Martin, was taken from the Riverview Nursing Home to St. Mary's Hospital Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fitzpat rick and family visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hi ley and sons of Glen wood, Iowa. Cindy Fitzpatrick stayed there to visit and Timmy Hiley re turned with the Fitzpatricks to spend the nght. Stohlmann Family Has Reunion LOUISVILLE (Srjecial) The oiujiimaiin lawny a oiai, aiutuni reunion was held Aug. 12 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church basement with about 100 attend ing. Following a basket dinner, a short business meeting was held. August Stohlmann Sr., honorary president, gave a short talk. The current officers were re elected for the year: Martin Stohlmann of Lincoln, president; Mrs. Harold Dumke of Avoca, secretary, Herman Kupke of Greeley, Colo., treasurer. In the absence of Mr. Kupke, Ells worth Stohlmann was acting treasurer. It was decided to give the memorial this year to the Luth eran Old Peoples Home, in mem ory of the late Herman Stohl mann. Several letters were read from those unable to attend. Martin Stohlmann showed pic tures he had taken in past years at reunions.
