Pierce Plioto by Steward Studio Hubbell-Pierce Wedding In Holy Rosary Church Here Karen Kathleen, Hubbell daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Galen Edgar Hubbell of Geary, Gkla., was married to Donnie Joe Pierce in the Holy Rosary Church, Plattsmouth. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clayton C. Pierce of this city. The Rev. Walter F. Banach of ficiated at the July 21 wedding at eleven in the morning in the presence of 100 guests. White gladiolus and light blue carnation.s decorated the church for the wedding. Mickey Boyle was soloist and Dorothy Pilny, organist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta. The sculptured bodice of the lace featured long pointed sleeves, and square neckline, defined by a jewelled collar. The full flow ing skirt was fashioned with a cascade of ruffles of the tulle, edged In lace; and a back panel of lace, dipping into a brush train. Her bouffant triple veil was caught by a half-hat of 111 lies of the valley. She carried a white orchid on a Bible. Shirley Lutz of this city; Pat Hamilton, als0 of Plattsmouth and Marlene Pritchard of Om aha attended the bride. They -ere gowned in blue dresses and carried matching bouquets. Bill Brink was best man. Sam my Pierce, Donald Neal usher ed and groomsmen were Dwayne Hamilton and Kenneth Pritch ard. The bride's mother wore a white silk jersey with white ac- c e s s o r i e s. The bridegroom's mother was gowned in a blue lace dress, a blue net hat with bow trim. Her accessories were white with gold trim. The ladies' corsages were red roses. A reception in the church parlors was held following the wedding ceremony. Assisting were Mrs. John Foster, Mrs. Paul Malcom, Mrs. Mildred New ton, Mrs. Larry Pierce, Mrs. Clarence Ham, Pat Konfrst and Nancy Konfrst. The wedding cake was baked by Mrs. Sam Hummel, aunt of the bridegroom. The couple took a trip to the Ozarks and Oklahoma. They wiU live in Plattsmouth. The bridegroom attended Plattsmouth High School and is an independent metal welder. The bride attended North High School in Omaha and the Nebraska Beauty Aademy, Omaha. Dickman-Turrc Reunion Held NEHAWKA (Special i Forty five attended the Dickman Turre annual picnic at Steinhart Park Sunday noon. The youngest child present at the noon dinner was Cindy Renee Schreiner, daughter of Mr. ar.d Mrs. Allen Schreiner of Dunbar, and the youngest for the atternoon social hour was Reglna Stirling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Koy Sterling of San Diego. Calif. The oldest member present was Mrs. Lydia Sporhuse of Ne braska City. The Roy Sterlings were from the greatest distance. Mrs. Cecil Garrett and Mrs. Leonard Garrett of Nehawka were the committee in charge. The committee for 1963 is Mrs. Eva Sporha.se and Mrs. Ed Turre. The annual picnic is held the first week of August. Present were the Cecil and Leonard Garrett families and George Dickman of Nehawka; the Paul Schreiner and Allen Schreiner families, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Turre, Dunbar; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dickman and Joan, Otoe; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dick man and Dennis, Union; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Goering, Unadilla; Mrs. Bertha Shields, Mrs. Lydia Sporhase, Eva and Harry, Ne braska City; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Carlson and Julie Kay, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turre, Syra cuse; Mrs. Ruth Cassen, Mrs. Stuart, Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dickman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cook, Esther Ford, Plattsmouth; Mrs. Lavonne Ster ling, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Roy S'erling and daughter, Calif.; Mrs. Marilyn White and son. Mrs. Crecn Home From Trip East Mrs. C. M. Green is home from the eastern states. She had motored to North Adams, Mass. with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Del bert Green and family to visit Mrs. Dtlbert Green's mother and family for a week. I Mrs. Green left by bus from North Adams for Oscoda, Mich. I to visit with another son, S-Sgt. Franklin Green and family for eleven days. While enroute to Michigan she saw Niagara Falls; I crossed the rainbow bridge into Canada; went under the Detroit River and through the tunnel. ' She saw much of the country- : side. Another son, Wayne Green and family, was on vaca tion. They came to Oscoda and Mrs. Green accompanied them home. They stopped at Marsh alltown, Iowa to visit another son, Robert Green and family! and spent some time there ar riving In Plattsmouth Sunday evening. Hi Id Family Picnic At Park The family of Mrs. P. A. Hild picnicked at Plattsmouth's Gar field Park, Sunday, to greet Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Hild and sons from Littleton, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. James H. Pollard and children from San Diego, Calif. Also at the picnic were Mrs. P. A. Hild; Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Hild; Mr. and Mrs. John L. Hild and Shirley; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hild, Rolland and Richard and grandson Randy Gray from Flagstaff, Ariz.; and Mr. and Mrs. Verner Hild. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hild and children, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meisinger and children, Mrs. Leonard Hild, Mr. and Mrs. Ern est Bond and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hild and daughter, Dale Hild and Mrs. Verna Pol lard attended too. Navy Mothers Have Club Picnic Navy Mothers Club held their annual family picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kubicka. There were twelve members and seven guests present. After supper the ladies held a short business meeting. Letters wer read from the National Commander also the National Adjutant. Judy Seid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fran cis Seid of Auburn, was selected national 1982 Hampshire Queen from among all the state en tries. In the men's judging division Walt Briggs won first place and a wrist wa'ch. Harry Knabe tied with four others and won a trav eling clock. The bred sow sales 'averaeed $17 and the top sow, $400; the boars averageci $557 and the top boar, $2,000. Bob and Connie Green of Alns worth, Iowa, had the champion hoof carcas barrow worth $22.23 a pound, when cut for retail sales. Henry Waltz of Crook, Colo., and Gorton Hurley of Brighton, Colo., were recent overnight guests of the Knabes. Mrs. Tritsch Back From Norfolk Trip Mrs. Jake Tritsch returned Wednesday from a vacation trip to the Norfolk area. She visited cousins of the Volk family, Mr. Tritsch's family. From Norfolk, she went north to Ewing In the hay country, saw Big Goose Lake and visited friends from the WOW 1951 Eastern Tour. CALENDAR Thursday, Aug. 9 Sunbonnet Garden Club will hold their annual picnic at the home of Mrs. Lee Eastridge Thursday, Aug. 9 at one o'clock. Friday, Aug. 10 The Junior Unit of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a meet ing, and picnic Aug. 10 instead of Aug. 8. The picnic will take place at 6 p.m. at City Park and families may attend. Each is to bring covered dish and utensils. Sunday, Aug. 12 Wiles Reunion at Garfield Park, Plattsmouth, Aug. 12. A Classified Ad in The Journal cost as little as 50 cents. Classy Cooks ALVO (Special) The Classy Cooks 4-H Club met with Clau dette Wlsmer. Merri Ann Kinney and Jane Beckman made ban ana cream pie at the meeting. Bobby and Rosetta Rains made snlckeredoodle as their demonstration. President, Bonnie Timblin called the meeting to order. Ros etta Rains called roll, each mem ber answered with their favor ite vegetabe or fruit. The Classy Cooks took a sight seeing trip to Lincoln Aug. 7. Those going were Lori Odell, Claudette Wismer, Donna Vande Hoef, Bobby and Rosetta Rains, Bonnie Timblin, Jane Beckman, Merrl Ann Kinney. Mrs. Harold Timblin and Mrs. Don Elliott were drivers. Ladies Croup At Burcham Home The Women's Department of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Sain's held their July meeting Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Howard Burcham. There were ten members and two guests present. Minerva Cool man led the group In devotions. An interesting lesson of family consideration of success was pre sented by Janice Pratt. After the meeting all joined In for a food sale. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Burcham. Next meeting will be Aug. 23, 7:15 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Herman Steeby.
