Degins at 5 p.m. Mariners Meet At- Murray Park MURRAY (Special) Twenty Mariners of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Council Bluffs convened at the Murray Park Sunday for a picnic supper as a means of visiting with the John Collins family who were former members when they lived in Council Bluffs. The members also extended an invitation to the Murray Pres byterian congregation. From this group Rev. and Mrs. Joe Barr and L. B. Hutchman attended. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Potter of Council Bluffs former neighbors of the Collins' called to visit so Joined the group as did Mrs. ClaV Potter who was returning her sister Carol Collins home. The Church School picnic will be held July 29. Evangelical United Brethren The Schroeder family are on vacation and Rev. Knosp sup plied as pastor. The Junior choir sang. Sermon title "As the Seed, so the Harvest." Christian Rev. Bavis' sermon title was "Man in a Mysterious ; Universe." The senior choir sang. The Sunday School ar,- tendence is holding up except ionally well. WSCS Meets at Weeping Water WEEPING WATER (Special) The WSCS held its meeting Tuesday afternoon in the church parlors of the Methodist Church. There were 18 members present and two guests, Mrs. Eva Svens son of Sinncrbo, Sweden, and Edith Helding of Chicago. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Willis Loren- sen. Roll call was answered by a Bible verse. Mrs. John Norris presented the devotions and Mrs. Herbert Petersen the lesson on the topic, "Youth". Linda Schmadeke at tended the Junior camp and Sandra Jameson the Senior camp of the MYF and these two girls gave an interesting report on their week at camp. Mrs. John Norris presented an adult life membership pin and certificate to the past president, Mrs. John Groesser. Plans were discussed for the County Fair as the ladies of the church will serve meals during the Fair in the church parlors. President Mrs. Gail McDonald opened the meeting. Mrs. Swain Neilsen read the names of ladies honored for perfect attendance the past year, as follows: Mrs. Frances Pratt, Mrs. Earl Horton, Mrs. Eric Charling and Mrs. Chas. Fleischman. Mrs. V. G. Clements sang "Faith, only Faith." Mrs. Harry Lannin gave the devotions and introduced the speaker Roger Ghormley, a lay member of the Presbyterian Church of Lincoln. He is a mem ber of the community Council Committee on Alcoholism in Lin coln. America was sung.
