The Board of Education of the Nehawka Consolidated Schools met in regular session on June 4, 1962. All members were pre sent. The minutes of the pre vious meeting were approved. Supt. Everrett reported on the status of the Hot Lunch and Activities accounts for the year. The Board accepted the con tract for Mr. Joel Ernesti for the coming school year. Produced by the National Space Authority and released by the government for showing to groups, the film tells the story of America's space pro gram from experimentation and training of the Astronauts, to Col. John Glenn's initial or bital flight by an American. OrviUe Julian of the Rotary Club procured and Introduced the film. The club decided to meet at noon July 31 because of an extra Rotary Ann meeting In June (the last Wednesday this month as a joint-picnic at Ne braska City with the Nebraska City Rotary Club. The said improvements shall consist of grading, paving, curb ing, guttering, and such other work as may be Incidental thereto in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by Henningson, Dur ham & Richardson, Inc., Special Engineer, employed by the City, and to be approved by the City Council. Said improvements shall be made at public cost, but the City will levy special assess ments on the property within the district especially benefited thereby proportionate to the benefits. If the owners of the record title representing more than fifty percent of the foot front age of the property abutting or adjoining the street to be im proved in the district file with the City Clerk within twenty (20) days after the first pub lication of this notice written objections to the creation of said district, said improvements shall not be made and the or dinance creating the said dis trict shall be repealed. If said objections are not filed in the time and manner aforesaid, the governing body shall forthwith cause the work to be done and such improvements to be made in said district.
