Mrs. Ra.smus Lauritzen gave the toast for the class. She in troduced the class. Hazel Pool of Lincoln, Marie Fitzpatrick Dun can of Nebraska City, Ruth Ranney Lingo of Blair, Richard Spohn of Lincoln, Florence Spangler Coon of Mason City. Iowa, Doris Ambler Coppinger of Lincoln and Mrs. Lauritzen. Following the banquet the members of the class went to the Rasmus Lauritzen home for an evening of visiting. The hus bands of the women were also guests and Eloise Pool of Lin coln. Each member of the class biouiiht nictures of their fam ilies and told of events of their lives. Mrs. Lauritzen brought out the yearbook of 1922 (the first yearbook published at the Weeping Water high school). Lunch was served but everyone was visiting so much that very little was eaten. Mrs. Lauritzen was the editor-in-chief of the first annual. Graduate Honored Mrs. Paul Meyer entertained a group of relatives and friends Thursday night after the grad uation of the son Terry. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sheehan and Marjorie, Mrs. Russel Campbell, Kathy and Joyce of South Bend, Mrs. Mike Sheehan, Mrs. Lou Erhart and Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Zoz and 'Donnle, Mr. and Mrs. Dwane Gansemer and Carol Ann Mickie Woods, Alice and Mari lyn Massoth, Mike Thorns, Ron nie Gansemer, Kenny Clark and Miss Judy Sheehan, Papillion. Phyllis Miller gave the devO' Hons. Sadie Burcham presented the third lesson on "Considerations for Family Living." A bake sale was planned for June. Mrs. Wayne Green will be the June hostess. 1927 Class Reunion At 40 Cr 8 Club The class of 1927 had their class reunion at the 40 & 8 Club Rooms on Saturday evening with 32 attending. After the banquet, Ralph Wehrbein, serv ing as toastmaster, gave a run through of some of the High' lights of high school days. Helen Smetana added much to clear the memories of class mates of the good old days. Letters and telegrams were read from those unable to be present. George Rebal, who at the last minute, was unable to be here, called from Iowa City and talk ed to the class members. The committee for the next reunion to be held in 1967 are Edith Vandervoort, Richard Liv ingston and Ralph Wehrbein. Out-of-towners attending were Mr. and Mrs. Justus Lillie, Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson, Mrs. Kathleen von Gillern, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Livings ton, Louisville; Jerry Adams, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bridgewater, Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Hill, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Thomas of Gales burg, 111. and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Stone, Nehawka. Celebrate 47th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pratt of Elmwood were honored with a surprise picnic luncheon at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Pratt of Gretna. Present were more than 6C friends and relatives from Elm wood, Weeping Wateri-Murdock, Eagle, vOrete, Tobias, Omaha York, Fairbury, Firth, Hickman, Lincoln and Gretna. Boardman, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Boardman of Union Miss Ross is a 1962 graduate of Nehawka High School and plans to attend a school or cosmo tology. Mr. Boardman is a 1961 rraduate of Plattsmouth High School. He is presently employed at Allied Chemical at LaPlatte, Nebr. The wedding date has not been set. Busy Homemakers The meeting of the Busy Homemakers 4-H Club was call ed to order by Janice Meisinger Songs were led by Mrs. Wayne Hendrik, after the flag salute. Roll call was, "Why we would be glad for school to be out." Marilyn Vinduska gave a jun ior leader's report on "judging containers for freezing." Pat Meisinger gave a report on "dealing wun courtesies with you and me." Mrs;. Henry Vinduska told the eirls about the workshop May 2ti. They were to start In Weep ing Wate:- and then go to Syra cuse after lunch for the rest of the workshop. Next meeting will be June 14 at 1:30. Roll caii will be "What we are going to do this summer." The 4-H girls attended church cn Rural Life Sunday. They, also invitsd other clubs to attend with them. Demonstrations were: Carol and Janice Cole, How to make an apron; Ellyn Meisinger, Foods Needed in Our Dally Diet; Mary Lochman, Facilities for Trash Disposal. The older girls prepared as paragus and. rhubarb foxJreez- ing. The younger girls judged flower arrangements. Mrs. Vinduska showed the girls how to make pictures out of figurative cloth or drapery material. Mary and Mrs. Joe Lochman and Nancy and Mrs. C. A. Tilson served lunch. Mrs. Kathleen von Gillern Of Lincoln was here to attend her class reunion and visited, her mother, Mrs. R. A. Troop. Other guests at the Troop home dur ing her visit here were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Troop and family. Mrs. von Gillern stopped in Ne braska City to visit her grand mother, Mrs. Julia Troop at St. Mary's Hospital. 1912 Graduates Reunion Here The Plattsmouth High School graduates, class of 1912, had 33 graduates. Nine have died leav ing 24 of which 18 were present here Memorial Day Week for a three-day reunion. Here were Alma Holly Logs don and husband of Omaha; Vance Todd and wife of Van couver, Wash.; Edna Shopp Mc Grew of McCook; Belle Speck Seney, Indianola, la.;. Barbara Clements Hulse and husband of Des Moines, Iowa; Conrad Sch later and wife of Oshkosh; Major A. Arries, Denver, Colo.; Sophia Siezkowskl Leddy and husband of Ashland; Rue H. Frans and wife of Nebraska City; Mildred Stewart Pollard Kansas City, Mo. Also Wayne and Mildred John son Prapst, Guy Wiles and wife, Goldie Noble Wiles, Lester B Dalton and wife, Elizabeth Campbell Thomassen and hus band, all of Plattsmouth; Adelia White Kuhns and husband, Ha waiian Gardens, Calif.; Elmer Hallstrom and wife, Avoca. On May 29, an open house was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Propst, and in the evening, all attended the 1962 Graduation Ceremonies of the Plattsmouth High School. The next afternoon, open house was again held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Propst at which time 75 from Platts mouth, Omaha and Avoca greet ed the 1912 graduates. That eve ning a family style banquet was held at Steinhart Park Lodge in Nebraska City. Mr. Dalton acted as Master of Ceremonies. All members were called on and re sponded. Letters were read from tne ioiiowing graduates who were unable to be present: Dor othy Britt Keller of New York City; Opal Fitzgerald Will ol Eagle Rock, Calif.; Kate Foster Randell, Seattle, Wash.; Dear Cummins, Pottsboro, Texas; Frank Hlber, Riverton, Wyo.; Florence Rummel Hall of Lin coln. An impressive memorial serv ice was held for the following uepaneu mempers: Ralph R. Larson, Elmer Frans, Charles Gradoville, Mollye Godwin, Bun ita Porter, Anna Hinrich Kaffen berger, Mabel Cook Glock, Ever ett Ward and Willa Moore Han sen. On Thursday evening those who were able to stay over had dinner at an Omaha cafe. Guests of the graduates at this dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Propst, Omaha and Mrs. R. J. Case Plattsmouth. Two former teachers were also guests, Mrs. Pearl Nichols Mann and Mrs. Genevieve How ard Hayes, both of Plattsmouth Mich igan Guests Depart For Home Staff Sergeant and Mrs. Franklin M. Green and family left for their home in Oscoda, Mich., Tuesday. Sergeant Green had a month leave from duty. They stayed at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green of Plattsmouth. While they were here they visited his sister In Wichita Kan., and other friends; in Iowa with his grandfather who will be 90 years old in November; and with Robert Craig of Malvern. Iowa, another grandfather. Call Your News And Social Items to 2141 TOUCH Dr. and Mrs. A. V. Hunter of Boulder, Colo., stopped for a brief visit Friday with the W. L Heinrichs. The Hunters were enroute to attend a 50th anni versary graduation observance at Nebraska Wesleyan Univer sity. They are former residents of Plattsmouth. Dr. Hunter served First Methodist Church here. He officiated at the wed ding of Mr. and Mrs. Helnricb 42 years ago this month. Oscar Mussman returned Sunday evening from a fishing trip to the Lake of the Ozarks In Missouri. He took his two sons, Gaylen and Lyle, Billy Rishel and Eddy Johnson with him on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. James A. War ren of New York City came Sat urday by plane and were guests until today in the home of Mr, and Mrs. Richard Beverage. They left here by plane for Oklahoma City. Mr. Warren is a brother of Mrs. Beverage and Mrs. Edna Boynton of this city. Helen Lessman entered Me thodist Hospital Sunday evening for a check-up. She la in room 972. Earl (Junior) Arnold was tak en to the University Hospital May 29 seriously 111. His con dition is still serious, and he would appreciate cards. . Mrs. Dale Philpot and Mrs. Mollie C. Gobelman attended a luncheon Saturday given In the penthouse of the Blackstone Hotel in Omaha by the National Society of the United States Daughters of 1812, State of Ne braska. Mrs. Philpot is a past president of the organization. The program was given by Lloyd and Leila Whitney, showing colored slides and an explana tion of all flags used in the 13 colonies and the United States. Family Picnic At Lyle Hi Id Home , Sunday, May 27, a family pic nic was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hild and Christine in honor of Dixie Burk, Mrs. Phyllis Burk, Everett Rozell, Mrs. Lyle Hild, Sharon Porter and Denny Burk, who all had May Birthdays. Also in honor of Mrs. Larry Meisinger who will make her home in Texas where her husband, Larry, is sta tioned. Attending the picnic were Mrs. Leota Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Rozell and girls, Mrs. Phyllis Burk and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Porter and boys; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hild and Christine, Mrs. Larry Meisinger. Sharon Porter and Dennis Smith all of Plattsmouth. Also Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sta pleton and Paul Jr. of Louis ville, Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Staple ton and Mrs. Ralph Liddick and Penny of La Platte, Mr. and Mrs. Max Porter and girls ol Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. George Porter and Randy of Bellevue. The afternoon was spent vis iting, playing cards, playing baseball, going fishing and play ing badminton. All enjoyed the event very much. Sunnyside Club With Mrs. Ryherd MURRAY Mrs. Fred Ryherd was hostess to the Sunnyside Ex tension Club May 23. Nine members answered roll call, naming a book or article read during Library Week. Further planning by the mem bers on the Fair window display was discussed. The health topic "Sabin Oral Vaccine" was given by Mrs.Den nison Price. Mrs. Ryherd gave the lesson on "Honey" and later served re freshments utilizing honey in all the recipes. Social hour and games followed with Mrs. Donna Tritsch winning the prize, "a jar of honey." The next meeting will be the picnic held at Murray Park on June 28; commencing at 12:30. Each member is to bring a cov ered dish. Mrs. Havley Sayers and Mrs. John Collins will be hostesses. Ambulance Phone 41 11 702 Ave. B CALDWELL FUNERAL HOME Lady Attendant Brennan-Cook Wedding At Methodist Church NEHAWKA (Special) Miss Phyllis Jean Brennan of Platts mouth, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Brennan, was married May 26 to Mr. Robert LeRoy Cook of Nehawka, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwlght K. Cook also of Nehawka. The wedding took place at the First Methodist Church in Plattsmouth at 7:30 p.m. in the presence of 100 guests. The Rev. Milton E. Scott, pastor of the church, officiated. Baskets of white and red carnations dec orated the church altar. Mrs. Milton E. Scott was or ganist and Mrs. Karl D. Ogg was soloist. Mrs. Ogg sang "Be cause" and "The Lord's Prayer." Dean R. Brennan, brother of the bride, gave his sister's hand in marriage. She chose a white net over taffeta ballerina gown for her wedding. Her tiara veil was shoulder length and was ornate with baby pearls. She carried a bouquet of red roses Barbara June Brennan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a navy blue sheath dress and carried white carna tions. Mrs. Dale A. Bruns of Plattsmouth, the bridegroom's sister, also attended the bride. She was gowned In a light blue brocaded taffeta and carried an arrangement of white carna tlons. Charles T. Cook of Nehawka, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Gary L Brennan, brother of the bride, and Dale A. Bruns, brother-in-law ol the bridegroom. Ronald H. Dickman was groomsman. Donnle and Jimmie Brennan, brothers of the bride, were can dlellghters. Shirley Brennan, sister of the bride, was flower girl; Lyle Brennan, brother of the bride, was rlngbearer. A reception was held in the church parlors following the wedding service. A white bell and streamers and flowers were used for decorations. Mrs. John Schreiner, chair man of a church circle, served at the reception. Mrs. Ronald H. Dickman, was in charge of gifts. Miss Shirley Johnson of Fremont was receptionist. Mrs. Hans Naaykins cut the cake and Miss Shirley Lutz served coffee and punch. For her going-away costume the bride chose a red faille dress. A corsage of blue and white flowers complimented her costume. They are living at 2017 Chi cago St., Apt. 2, Omaha. She is a graduate of the Plattsmouth Schools, class of 1960, and is attending compto meter School in Omaha. Mr. Cook is a 1957 graduate of the Nehawka Schools; served four years in the US Navy as Elec tronics Technician Third Class, and is now employed at Armour and Co., Omaha. Bates Family Has Plattsmouh Picnic WEEPING WATER (Special) A Bates family picnic was held on Sunday at the Platts mouth City Park. The family all met at the Horning Cemetery before the picnic dinner. Attending were Mrs. Minnie Sammons, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sammons, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kruger of Nebraska City, Mrs. Goldie Grindle, Curt Grlndle of Malvern, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Grindle of Imogene, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hedden and family of Greenwood, Ed Kruger of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Sammons and fam ily of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. George Bates. BIRTHS Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Kelsey are parents of a 7 pound 5'2 ounce daughter, Rhonda Lyn, born at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebras ka City, May 31. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Jorn, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kelsey of Platts mouth. Great grandmother is Mrs. Mary Gardner of Nebras ka City. The couple has another daughter, Kimberly, who Is 11 months old. : Piano Students Of Mrs. Capwell Present Recital Students of Mrs. J. A. Cap well presented their piano recit al June 3 at the Plattsmouth High School Auditorium. Baskets of red peonies made a lovely stage setting for the re cital.
