ORDINANCE NO. 1026 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS AND AMENDING SECTION 5 OF OR DINANCE NO. 885; FIXING THE OCCUPATION TAX UPON LI QUOR LICENSEES IN THE CITY OF PLATTSMOUTH AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1002. REPEALING THE ORIGINAL SECTION 5 GF ORDINANCE NO. 885 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLATTS MOUTH, NEBRASKA: SECTION 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 885 be and same Ls hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 5. For the purpose of raising revenue within said City, there is hereby levied upon the following described busi nesses, including clubs, conduct ed in said City, the following oc cupation taxes: Beer distributor, the sum of $150.00 per annum; Retailer of beer, (on sale) the sum cf $50.00 per an num; Retailer of beer, (off sale only i the sum of $25.00 per annum; Retailer of beer, (on and off sale i the sum of $150.00 per annum; Retailer of alcoholic liquor for con sumption off the premises (sale in original package only) the sum of $225.00 per annum; Retailer of alcoholic liquor for consumption on the pre mises and off the premises, where the licensee is a club limited to m embers and guests only, the sum of $100.00 per annum; Retailer of alcoholic li quor for consumption on the premises, and off the pre mises ( sales in original packages only) where li censee is not a club limited to members and guests, the sum of $375.00 per annum; The occupation tax shall com mence on the first day of May of each year and end on the 30th day of April next succeed ing. No occupation tax in an amount less than the sum pro vided in this Section for yearly period shall be accepted regard less of the time within the tax ing period when such business is commenced and no portion of any tax shall be refunded in the event such licensee ceases the operation of said business after the first clay of May nor shall any part thereof be trans ferable or assignable. The tax levied and imposed by this Sec tion shall in no case exceed twice the amount required to be paid for license for the same period of time under the provi sions of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act. The amount of such occupation tax shall be de posited with the City Clerk at the time the application is made for the probate of an mstru or within twenty-four hoursiment purporting to be the last after such application has been I will and testament of said de filed with the Nebraska Liquor j ceased, and for the appoint Control Commission. The afternoon was spent visiting and after Mrs. Cox opened her many gifts, a lunch of cake and coffee were served. The school children and their teacher, Mrs. Dill, were also treated to birthday cake and punch. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Fidler, ac companied by Mrs. Oscar Laughlin and Clark Bushnell of Ashland, attended the 40th wed ding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ben Jenny at Columbus Sunday. Mrs. Ronald Hostetter of Mur ray and Mrs. Tom Robbins of Louisville were Wednesday lunch guests with their sister, Mrs. Larry Carnicle. That after noon the ladies visited Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Morris at Warm. ATTEND SCOUT FETE WEEPING WATER (Special) The four Brownie Troops and the two Girl Scout Troops in Weeping Water, their leaders and parents attended the 50. h anniversary party of Girl Scout ing Saturday in Pershing Audi torium, in Lincoln. The girls danced their square dances with other troops at the party which they learned from Carol Nickels. Shirley Upton and Linda Lane. They enjoyed a pro gram and refreshments and the Art Festival and display booths at the Auditorium. A large num ber of people attended from Weeping Water. Trailer House Burns WEEPING WATER iSpeclali The Weeping Water Volunteer Fire Department was called the past week to the Guy Cle ments property, west of Weeping Water. The fire destroyed a trailer house and damaged out buildings on the abondoned farm. A strong wind fanned the blaze and the firemen were busy for quite some time. This made four fires in the Weeping Water rural area with in the past two weeks.
