It was voted that the church would sponsor the sending cf the Nebraska Christian into all .he church homes for another year. A balloon birthday tree and candles that refused to .stay blown out along with many lovely gifts and the traditional birthday cakes and ice cream helped to ake a happy birthday for Barbara Gayle Meeske of Omaha on her third birthday. One had trick candles which kept re lighting, and after much blow ing a perplexed little girl said to her grandmother, "You blow them out." Mr. and Mrs. Harold Domingo attended the Athletic banquet Thursday evening in the Cass County Auditorium. Randall Ratliff of Omaha spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Haroid Domingo and sons. Sunday afternoon a new com bination game of baseball was played at the Domingo home with a short round gourd as the bat and a volleyball as the baseball, with the wierdest re fere ring. Sunday lunch guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Boiler were Mr. Royal Neighbors Of State Meet LOUISVILLE (Special i Mrs. Vesta Urwin, district deputy of the Royal Neighbors of America and Mrs. Mary T h e i 1, Sr. of Murdock accompanied Mrs. Mary Larson of Lincoln to Al liance, Thursday morning to at tend the Royal Neighbors State Convention Thursday through Saturday. They returned home Sunday. The convention was held at the City Auditorium and was opened by a lariat drill put on by the various camps in north west Nebraska. Performing were 214 ladies dressed in identical checked gingham dresses of twelve different colors. Friday nocn luncheon was served by the Eagles Club with 220 members in attendance. A barbershop quartet provided the entertainment. Friday afternoon and evening sessions were highlighted by a drill by the American Legion Junior Drill team in "Presenta tion of the Flag." The banquet held Friday eve ning at the Elk's Club was at tended by 319 members of the Royal Neighbors. After the breakfasts on Sat urday, the election of new of ficers for the net state conven tion was held. It will be held in Broken Bow. Also held was the election of delegates to the Sup reme Camp which will convene in Denver, late in June of this year. Saturday's luncheo n was given by the Elk's club and was attended by 128 members. BOOT AND SPUR ! The Boot and Spur 4-H Club met April 14 at the home of Leader Mrs. Wayne Meisinger. I Meeting was called to order by President Harry Spangler. , Clarence Schmadeke, Coun ty Extension Agent, explained how to fill out our 0-10-2's. ; Mrs. Meisinger explained the: rules for riding and showing horses. Mary Ann Spangler gave a: talk on "Care of Horses." Jimmy Meisinger showed the equipment necessary to care for a horse. Due to schedule difficulties, it will be necessary to hold the I'lay School from 10 to 12 this , year. Girls will call for the youngsters who live wi'h'tn walk ing distance. The Play School will be dismissed at 12 and the girls will again return those youngsters who live within walk ing distance. ' Obituary Mrs. Anna Catherine Braack LOUISVILLE (Special i Mrs ; Anna Ca herine Braack died : Sunday, April 15 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lester Mumm. 4324 Ohio St., Omaha, at the age of 7Q years. She had been in poor health for several months. Her husband preceded her in death in 10.55. She was also pre ceded in death by three sons. Survivors are three daughters. Mrs. Lester Mumm and Miss Gladys Braack both of Omaha , and Mrs. Arthur i Delia i Kuhr. Blair: four sons.. Herman, Albu querque, N. Mex., Loyd of Louisville, ILirky and Henry of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Holline and Mrs. Louise Nolte both of Omaha; two brothers. John Logemann, Bennington, and George Locemann of Mil lard; six een grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were Thursday at 1:33 p.m. from the Kremer Fu neral Home with interment at the riower Hill Cemetery, Om aha. PPrayer services were held. Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the mortuary. AKESON Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Cald-well-Linder Chapel for Francis R. Akeson, who died April 13 at an Omaha hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1907 at Weeping Water, son of the late Thomas and Edith Gilmore Ak eson, where he lived the earlier part of his life. On Nov. 20, 1937 he was mar ried to Emma Tigner at Union. He and his wife made their home in Plattsmouth the past 30 years. lie had worked for the Tum pa.ve Co. at Olfutt, until two ars ago when he started work at Soennichsen's. Because of ill health he retired in November. Mr. Akeson was member of the Christian Church. Survivors are the wdfe of Plattsmouth; son, Thomas E. Akeson, Omaha, two grandchil dren; three brothers, Clarence Akeson of IMatLmouh, Thomas Akeson of Weeping Wa ter and James Akeson of Lin coln; sister, Mrs. Ellen Wallick, Davenport, la., several nieces and nephews. Rev, J. W. Taenzler, pastor of the Christian Church, officiated at the services. Mrs. Twyla j jn appreciation .. .
