Parsons Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Parson Sr.. has been accepted by the Amer ican Legion, Department ot Ne braska, as Weeping Water's dele gate to the 1962 Cornhusker Boys State. John Meeske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meeske, was se lected as alternate. Both of the bovs are Juniors at Weeping Water high school. A committee from the Amer ican Legion Post 237 selected these two bovs from a list of seven recommended by the local school faculty. Neal transferred to Weeping Water high school from the Shu bert High when he was a Fresh man. He was a server at the junior-senior banquet. He was elected to the National Honor Society in 1962, was the sophomore attendant at the homecoming ceremony in 1960, took part in the Junior Class play, Neal has been active in ill sports at the Weeping Water high school, including basketball, foot ball and track. John won the American Legion Citizenship award when he Grad uated from the eighth grade. He was a freshman attendant to the homecoming King in 1959, was a server at the Junior-Senior ban quet. He is a junior class represen tative on the Student Council. He plays the trumpet in the Senior band, and was in the Junior Class play. John has been active in basketball, football and track. ed the meeting. The VFW Auxiliary meeting for February was held with eight members present. Mrs. Lyle Thomassen will be acting treasurer until election of of ficers in March. Mrs. John Beck was treasurer but moved to Noel, Missouri. A farewell supper was . held by the Auxiliary for Mr. and Mrs. Beck before they mov ed. A report was given on the Beck farm sale.
