Johnson Miss Beverly Bookman :mc' Airman First Class Charles R. Johnson of Oroville, Md,, wore, married Feb. 10. The ceremony 1 took place at the St. Peter.1-' Church in Omaha with the Rev. Joseph Oertli officiating at the one o'clock ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr and Mrs. John Beckman of Plattsniouth, and Mr. and Mrs Charles Johnson of Mechanics-, villo, Md. , The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a ballerina length gown of white lace and satin. The fitted b .dice featured -a princess waistline' with ;i scalloped neckline trimmed in sequins. The skirt was fashioned with white lace pane's over net and satin. A .se quin crown held the bridal veil. Her semi-cascade bouquet was of white baby carnations. Jane Goblirsch was the bride's maid of honor, gowned in a Co penhagen rjiue taffeta gown de signed wilh a tier-drop skirt fea turing a self-side bow and round ed neckline with elbow length sleeves. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Fred Bourck and Mrs. Beverly Sutton. Meeting was opened with the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Paul Long gave the devo tions and Mrs. Bourck the lesson on the "Mission of the Church in South America." Chairman Mrs. K. W. Gross hans conducted the business meeting. March 9 was announced as World Day of Prayer with moot ing to be held in the Methodist Church. Also the WSCS will hold a rummage sale at the church April 4. Mrs Scott will begin her Lent en Study Class Monday, Feb. 11). Mrs. Robert Humiston con ducted a game which was won by Mrs. William Heinrich. Lunch was served by the host esses. FIRST QUALITY - FULL FASHIONED HY KLAS - RED PITTED Valentine Decor At Bridal Shower Before her marriage on Feb. 17, Mrs. Duane Ileim, nee Rox anne McGill, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous bridal shower Feb. 11 at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church. The valentine theme was car ried out for the decorations. The table was decorated with a large heart which was emphasized with net and electric lights. Mrs. Leonard Reincke and daughters Christine and Pa tricia entertained with songs. A poem by Rodney Faris and two songs by Roger and Alan Schmidt completed the program. The guest of honor received many lovely gifts. Assisting her were Linnea Ingwerson, Jean Roth and Laurael Ann Stoehr. Cake, ice cream, mints and coffee were served. Hostesses were Mrs. Otto Petereit, Mrs. Marvin Petereit, Mrs. John Parkenir.g, Mrs. Art Sprieck, Mrs. Emil Schmidt, Mrs. Walter Weiss and Mrs. Jack Faris. Despite inclement weather, many attended aid the pastor's wife received some nice gifts.' of New Jersey served as best man. A reception was held immedi ately following the wedding serv ice. The couple lives in Omaha, 115 North 35th Street, after their re turn from a short honeymoon. Eagle Methodist Church Notes EAGLE (Special) The Sen ior and Intermediate MYF meet ings are held Sunday evening and Wednesday evening, respec tively. Choir practice is Wednes day evening, following MYF at 8 o'clock. Saturday, Feb. 24, the ESCS will have a food and bake sale and coffee break at Eagle Fire house, beginning at 2 p.m. j The Society plans to attend j the World Day of Prayer service at St. Paul Methodist, Lincoln, I March 9. Bishop Copeland has urged prayers for peace. Sunday, March 11, Commun ion Sunday, Dr. Cascini of Lin coln will preside. He served as vacancy pastor here several Sundays after Rev. Bowne's departure. SHYING SUSIES Margaret Ann Mohr enter tained the Sewing Susies 4-H group at her home Saturday at 1:30. Meeting opened with the 4-H Pledge. The hostess and Carla Zwiers demonstrated how to make cornbread: Mary Peterson dem onstrated how to make biscuits. Vicki Moore and Linda Lepert told of different ways of serving cornbread and Bonnie Zwiers told of various ways of serving biscuits. Ice cream and cake were served to the members and mothers by Marilyn Mohr. Next meeting will be March 3 at the home of Sandra Toman. Linda Lepert, news reporter. Kenneth B.
