NFO Studies New Promotion "For the first time in the history of the organization, the mail to the Corning, Iowa, NFO National office was so great, that it could not be delivered! by the mailman, but a mailj truck had to deliver it," Orville' Lentz, Elmwood, state NFO Chairman, said at a meeting of! the NFO Publicity and Promo - tional leaders, at Lincoln, Sat- unlay. Guest speakers for the morn ing session were Glenn Khru scher. Farm Editor of the Lin coln Star, and Marvin Russel, Editor of the Nebraska Farmer, who gave tips on what news papers and farm magazines want. This meeting of publicity and promotional leaders of the state of Nebraska was an experimen tal meeting, to create a better understanding of how to get the facts of NFO before the public through the different news media. Virgil Miller, National Public Relations Director, pointed out, "Our most important cold war weapon against Russia is our ability to produce food, and yet because of economic pressures more and more qualified people will be leaving the farm for greener pastures. Last year alone 90,000 farmers sought em ployment elsewhere." "Farmers have been led to be lieve that we are all in competi tion with each other, but we of NFO say, 'we farmers must work together as a team,' to pro vide food for the nation, and solve our own problems," Butch Swain, national activities direc tor, said.
