Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid Meets Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid So ciety met at the church Jan. 31, with 20 members answering roll call. Meeting opened with prayer by Dr. A. B. Lentz and was called to order by President Mrs. Ver ner Friedrich. A thank you note was read from Plattsmouth Fairvlew Club, for donation of church parlor fa cilities, also for food donations and help at the time of the "Husking Bee", for the Verner Friedrich family in December. Motion was made and sec onded to donate to the Polio Fund. Birthday song was sung for Mrs. Walter Weiss and Mrs. Wayne Meisinger having Jan. birthdays. Devotions, "The Truth of Christian Faith," also, "A New Year's Prayer," and poem, "Are You Willing," were given by Mrs. Herbert Franke. A program followed consisting of: poems, "Snow Storm," audi "A Life Lesson." read by Mrs. Joe Puis; several vocal duets by Dr. and Mrs. Lentz, with Mrs. Glen Kraeger at the piano. A number of visitors were wel comed by the President. Hostesses were, Mrs. Ed Meis ir.ger and Mrs. Glen Kraeger. Laughing Lassies 4-H Club Has Meeting The Laughing Lassies 4-H Club met Jan. 27 at the home of Shiela and Lana Baker. There were seven members present. The meeting was opened with the flag salute. Roll call was "A Person I'd Like To Be". Mrs. Parson's class continued the discussion of breads and the making of rolls. Mrs. Piner's clas learned how to thread a needle and tie knots properly. Games were played and re freshments served by the host ess. Next meeting will be Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Laura Parson. Rogene Coulter, reporter. Murray People Attend County Christian Service School MURRAY (Special) The Cass County School of Christian Service met Thursday evening at the Congregational Church in Weeping Water. Those attending from the Murray Christian Church were Rev. and Mrs. Victor Schwarz, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rogers, Mr. Richard Sack, Mrs. Drucker, and Mrs. Clarence Jacobson. Those attending from the Murray Presbyterian Church were Rev. Joe Barr, Mildred Livingston, and Mary Ellen Liv ingston. The school will continue for 2 weeks. John Boetel Marks 89th Birthday John Boetel of Ebeler Nurs ing Home, Elmwood, today marked his 89th birthday. To celebrate Sunday, he was visited by his three daughters Mrs. Nellie Moore of Platts mouth, Mrs. Dealia Freel of Ne braska City and Mrs. Dorothy Raebourn of Caldwell. Louisville WSCS LOUISVILLE (Special) The WSCS held their meeting Jan. 25 at the Methodist church with Mrs. Henry Doermann, Mrs. Earl Beck and Mrs. Calvin Grell as hostesses. Mrs. Joseph Hon presided at the meeting. A tea will be held at the Springfield Methodist church Febr. 8. Mrs. Doris Hirsch led the wor ship using the theme, "The Art of Living". Mrs. Mary Amelang gave a report on Missions. Mrs. William McCord presented a program on "Alcohol" in drama form and was assisted by Mmes. Stiffler, Connie Grell, Alletha Uhley, Jean Isaac, Hazel Hon, Doris Hirsch and Alvin Meyer. Area NFO Family Meeting Set Feb. 8 A third in a series of large area NFO meetings is planned for Feb. 8, 1962, at the Catholic Church basement in Wahoo. At the last two such meetings the crowds attending exceeded 300. The affair is a "Pot Luck" supper with serving from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Members should bring enough for themselves and one other family. 1,1 Speakers will be Heasty Rees raan, former member of Na tional Board of Directors of the State of Nebraska and now Di rector of Nebraska FHA, Pat Boyle, Mayor of the city of Lin coln, Mrs. Ed Mowinkle, Sarpy County housewife, Bob Casper, National vice President of NFO. Lucky 9 4-Her's Make Cookies Lucky 9 4-H Club members held their Jan. 14 meeting at 2:30 at the home of Linda Dasher. Three members were absent. An interesting lesson was held in baking. Linda Dasher dem onstrated the art of creaming the shortening and sugar: Elaine Tlustos showed how to measure liquid and dry ingre dients; Virginia Molarino and Janet Gold stirred the ingre dients. Elaine Sharp cut in the fat with the dry ingredients as in pie crust. The results of the demonstrations were delicious cookies, which were later served with hot chocolate by hostesses Linda Dasher and Elaine Sharp. The leaders Mrs. Molarino, Mrs. Tlustos and Mrs. Dasher were present. Other mothers are invited to attend any of the meetings. Kenneth Price in Drama at College Kenneth Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keener I. Price of Platts mouth, is cast as "Cal" in the college production of the play, "The Little Foxes," at Northwest Missouri State College, Mary ville. The play will be given March 1-2. Price is a graduate of Platts mouth High School and is a freshman in speech and Eng lish. He previously appeared in "Tall Story" and "The Wonder Hat," plays produced at the col lege. Doughter Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meisinger of Louisville are parents of an 8 pound daughter, Sharon Kay, born Sunday at Clarkson Hos pital, Omaha. They also have two sons, Alan and Roger. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Irven Meisinger, Springfield, and Mr. and Mrs. John L. Hild. Plattsmouth. Great -grandmother is Mrs. P. A. Hild, Plattsmouth. FBiKTHS Friendly Fourteen LOUISVILLE (Special) The Friendly Fourteen Club met Jan. 30 at the home of Ruth Woolhiser in Omaha. The business meeting was opened by the president, Fern Johnson. It was voted to give $2 to the March of Dimes. Members celebrated the birth day of Nora Larson by playing bingo. Emma Stratton won high prize. The remainder of the evening was spent playing pinochle. ILgh prize was won by Velma Young quist, second high ar.d traveling I was won bv Alice Shyrock, and low by Beverly Sell. Alice Shyrock was a guest. Cars used to take the ladies to Omaha were driven by Dolly Mason and Beverly Sell. A deli cious lunch was served. Next meeting will be Feb. 20 at the home of Marge Herbie and they will celebrate the birthday of Ruth Woolhiser. Masons Install At Springfield LOUISVILLE (Special) The Masons held their installation of officers Jan. 30 at the Mason ic Temple, Lodge No. 112. at Springfield. Installing Officer was Edward F. Wehrbein of Plattsmouth; Installing Marshall, Herman Schnack; Installing Chaplain and Secretary was Francis Price and Installing Musician, A. H. Snider. Officers for 1962 are: Wor shipful Master, John W. Fussel man; Senior Warden, John R. Fleck; Junior Warden, Leonard J. Vaughn; Treasurer, Otto Niel sen; Secretary, Harry N. Ahl;: Chaplain, Dewey Callaway; Sen ior Deacon, Gordon Grell; Jun ior Deacon, Donald Buskirk; Senior Steward, Jack Latham; Junior Steward, Wilford White and Tiler, Wilbur Hubbell. A program followed the in stallation during which Wilbur Hubbell sang two songs, "Sud denly There's a Valley" and "Bless This House." There were 72 in attendance from the Plattsmouth, Weep ing Water, Greenwood, Ashland, Wisner, Valley, Fremont, Water loo and Springfield Lodges. Re freshments were served follow ing the program. Year books were distributed and goals for 1962 were discuss ed. It was voted to change the club date to every th'.rd Thurs day of each month. Mrs. Harold Ahl gave the devotions after which the study lesson on "Meat Cookery" was conducted by Mrs. Fred Cordes and Mrs. Elmer John:on. They prepared braised lamb chop; and cubed beef stew.
