Nehawka Swine Club The Nehawka Swine Club met at Lee Roy Ahrens' Dec. 29, to re-crganize. Elected were: president, Eddie Fitch; vice president, Ronnie Warden; secretary, Gary Fitch; news reporter, Don Ahrens. John Knabe is leader and Harry Knabe is assistant leader. Mrs. Lee Roy Ahrens served j unch Visitors were Jimmy and Penny Ahrens. Next meeting will be held at Richard Stones', Jan. 27. Ronnie Warden will give a disscussion on care of sow and litter from farrowing to weaning, reporter, Don Ahrens. Laughing Lassies j The Laughing Lassies 4-11 Club met Dec. 2S at Mrs. Par-1 sens with Pamela Baker as hostess. There were nine mem bers present. . The meeting was opened with! the flag salute. Roll call was! "What I Received for Christ mas." Laura Parson lead the group ; in two songs. I ramcla Baker baked muffins which were judged and enjoyed; by the group. j Use of the sewing machine , and sewing boxes was discussed,! by Mrs. Finer. Mrs. Parson's group had a quiz on fabrics and discussed yiast and quick bread. Gaines suggested by L a n a Baker and Janet Funkhouser were played. Refreshments were served and Christmas gifts were exchanged. Next meeting will be Jan. 27 j at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Sheila and Lana Baker. Johnny Oliver-Haith Wedding In Syracuse, N. Y. Miss Patricia A. Oliver, daugh ter of Captain Charles A. Oliver and Mrs Lillian E. Oliver was married Saturday. Dec. 30 to S-Sgt. Johr.ny R. Haith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Haifh of Platfsmouth, in the Church of St. Andrew the Aposfe in Syracuse, New Ycrk. Rev. Frank Harrison officiated at the double-ring cere mony and offered a Nuptial Mass. The altar was flanked with white chrysanthemums and glad ioli. The bride was escorted to the altar by Mr. Harold J. Mahaney. Organ selections were played by Willard Powell. The bride wore a long formal gown of wmite taffeta in princess silhouette with "Alencon lace neckline and three-quarter sleeves. The bouffant skirt fell in petals over a wide border of jewelled Alencon lace, and a chapel train was a'tached at the back waistline with a rose and bow. A crown of crystals and pearls held a fingertip veil of imported silk illusion. She car ried a crescent bouquet of white carnations and pink sensation roses. The bride's attendants wore short bouffant gowns of Venetian Blue chiffen taffeta designed with a scoon neckline, elbow sieeves and crushed velvet cum berbund in midnight blue caught with a back rose. The headpieces were matching velvet rose clips with a circle veil. The maid of honor carried a nosegay of pink delight roses with ivy. The bridesmaid's flow ers were of similar design with pink sensation roses and ivy. Miss Karen Flaherty was maid K. Ilaidi Catholic Church of honor. Other bridal attendants were Lynda M. Oliver, sister of the bride, Mrs. Robeit Brown Miss Barbara Welch, Miss Claire !ason. Richard Haith of Plattsmouth, brother of the bridegroom was best man. The ushers were Rob ert Brown, Charles Shull, Robert Kirkpatrick, and James Kearns. A breakfast was served at En rico's Restaurant for the bridal party followed by a reception in the afternoon. The bride, an alumna of Not tingham High School, is pres ently employed at General Elec tric. The bridegroom, a graduate of The Passionist Preparatory Sem inary in St. Louis, Mo., now serv ing in the US Air Force, also at tends Syracuse University. After a short wedding trip to Chicago and Nebraska, the bride groom will return to overseas duties. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Oliver wore a gold brocaded suit with brown accessories and an orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a green brocaded satin dress with off-white accessories. She also wore an orchid corsage. Attending the wedding from Plattsmouth was the bride groom's mother and brother and his aunt, Mrs. W. Earl Dyer.
