THE PLATTSMOUTH JOURNAL PAGE THREE Thursday, November 23, 1901 Calendar: Christian Ladies' Council, Nov.. 24; MYF. Nov. 26; Rebekah Lodge, Nov. 28. WSWS of the EUB church met Nov. 15. Program leaders were Mrs. Schroeder and Mrs. Harvey Backemeier. The study topic was "The Church in Larger Dimen tions" also "The Church in Your Community". Mrs. Dale Fliesh man presided. A basket dinner Is planned for the church on Dec. 10, Sunday evening. Em manual members are invited. The hostesses were Mrs. Lester Rosenow and Mrs. Walter Oeh lerking. 24 were present. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Means and two daughters of Omaha came with their baskets of food to observe her mother's birthday, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Armstrong. This was Nov. 17th. A guest at the home of the Dwight Clements' is her mother, Mrs. Horstman of Casper, Wyo. Thanksgiving day they all expect to be with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lorenz of Hickman. Others are Mr. and Mrs. Guy Clements and Mrs. Frank Lorenz. Several quilts and comforters have been .completed by the WSCS at the homes of Emily Gonzales and Mary Halvorsen. Guests at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Ebinger were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fasse of Eustis, Nebr., and afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bornemeier of Murdock. Rev. Ebinger is serving at Julian,, Nebr. at present. The Ed Millers enjoyed the weekend visit of their son and family Mr. and Mrs. John Miller and 2 children from Byers, Colo. He is a banker and was taking his vacation at this time.- Miss Augusta Robb has been quite ill but Is improving now. She Is at the home of her bro ther, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming Robb. Mrs. Mary Williams had the misfortune to fall on the cement and bruised her face and shoulder quite badly. Her daug hters, Cora Reeder of Cambridge, Nebr. and Anna Nicklas of Curtis spent the weekend here return ing to their homes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Rhoden received word that they have another great grand child, born Nov. 16 and named Lisa Diane. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Guilinger of Mount Carroll, 111. and Grand parents are the Richard Rho den's. The Community Kensington will meet Nov. 30 at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Miller. It was post poned from Nov. 23rd. Mrs. Lloyd Miler entertained her extension club, Fairview on Nov. 18. A bulletin on "House Plants" was used for part of the lesson. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Cloppel of Alnsworth have been Visiting his aunt, Mrs. Lulu Kunz and other relatives. Mrs. R. E. Whitford of Albuq uerque N. Mex. spent the week end visiting her mother, Mrs. Upton and sister, Mrs. Whitte more and family. CUvo Mrs. Wilson Howe . m mm mm mm mm m The Mother and Daughter Council met Friday afternoon with Mrs. Ellis Mickle with seven members and one visitor pre sent. Each member told of and displayed their hobby. The busi ness meeting was conducted by the president Mrs. Kendall Dim mitt. The Christmas Party for the club will be at the home of Mrs. Harold Nickel December 15. The Woman's Society of Christ ian Service held their annual Bazaar and supper Thursday evening at the Church. Guests attending from other towns were from Ashland, Waverly and Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bradley of Leabon, Kansas came to visit Mr. Elmer Rosenow at the hosp ital and spent some time In Alvo the first of the week visiting friends. They were lunch guests of Mrs. Edith Braun and visited with Mrs. Grace Copple one day. Mrs. Earl Keller is leaving Wednesday for Omaha where she will spend Thanksgiving with her daughter Gladys, and hus band Mr. and Mrs. Lynch.. From there she will travel to Califor nia where she will spend the winter with her sons. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dimmltt had as their supper guests Sat urday evenine. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Dlmmitt of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Dimmitt and daughters. The occasion was to celebrate Glenn Dlmmitt' birthday.
