William Partridge, father of Mark Partridge of Louisville, passed away Tuesday at his home in Denver, Colorado. Serv ices will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Weeping Water. Burial will be in the cemetery near Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs! Edward Grell and Mrs. William McKinstry were Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beck. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Finlay and Howard were Saturday din net guests at the home of Mr. Firemen See Color Slides Of Hotel Fire Members of the Plattsmouth Fire Department and their guests from Bellevue, Offutt Air Force Base and Eastern Sarpy County relived last summer's Plattsmouth Hotel fire Tuesday evening as they viewed color sildes taken the- fateful night by Howard Ruback and Vic Schrel ner. Movie films were shown of grain elevator fires by Bill Be hrns, State Fire Instructor. In the film the fires had been set to destroy the buildings but were controlled so that all debris would fall into the center of the fires. Pictures were also shown of practice control of oil tanker fires. The Chief of the Offutt AFB Fire Dept. talked on plane fires and how to handle them and what to do should one crash In the area. He stressed the Import ance of keeping onlookers away from the scene for their own safety, according to members of the local unit who were present. Services for Roy Cogdill UNION Funeral was Satur day at Union Baptist Church for Roy Clifton Cogdill, 74, who died here from a heart attack. The Rev. David Bloomquist of ficiated. Pallbearers were Paul Picker ing, Carl Lindsey, Thornton Lee, Howard Snodgrass, Roy Dye and Pete Everett.' Burial was in Ran dolph Cemetery with Lett Fu neral Home of Nehawka in charge. Mr. Cogdill was born Sept. 22, 1887, at Maysville, Mo. He was married to Ollie Whit field of Maysville. She died in 1928. Surviving are daughters Lor ean Clark of Lincoln and Thelma Cooper of Norfolk; two grand children and two great-grandchildren; brothers Charles of Union and Fred of Washington state. A son, Kenneth, preceded him in death in 1948. Mr. Cogdill had retired from farming about 1935 and moved to Union. f . Mijsj Pankonin presented the program which was a book review of "The Listener" by Taylor Caldwell. Kathy Campbell, Bob Kah land, Nancy Johnson, James Brown and Joyce Barnes, seniors, took the Nebraska Regents Sch olarship examinations at tjie Louisville High School on Nov ember. The tests were gvleQ to them by Supt. Jack Welch. Win ners of the Regents contest will be announced after the first of the year. Jim Woolhiser, 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Woolhis er, was taken to the Clarkson hospital in Omaha Tuesday and was released on Wednesday. O-KI-HI The O-Ki-Hi Camp Fire group held Its Fire Makers Tea, honoring their mothers, at St. John's Hall recently. The pro gram included piano selections, dance numbers and baton twirl ing. Christ ine Uher is also a member of the group. iXi SOUTH Mrs. Ivan Earl Mansfield suffered a heart attack last week and was taken by ambulance to Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln. He was un der oxygen for a time, Mrs. Mansfield has been with him constantly. We are glad to say h is Improving but he will be at the hospital for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zink of Sioux City spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keller, together they spent Saturday in Omaha and attended an antique show in the Paxton Hotel. Little Julia Coffman is much improved and was brought home from Childrens Hospital in Om aha Friday evening. Mildred Lindsay of Oakland, Calif, spent from Wednesday until Thursday morning with her aunt Mrs. Margaret Lehman antf uncle Wallace McClelland. She had been on a trip to the east coast and to New York. While In the east she purchased a new car and was driving it home. After supper they went bowl ing in Millard. . Sutton called at the Elmer Sprieck home Monday evenng. Obituary Erna lies Erna Rakow, daughter of Aug ust and Albertina Rakow, was born March 30, 1897, in Germ any. She came with her parents to Cass County at the age of two. She was maried to Berl Biggs in April, 1917. They lived in Plattsmouth and had a son and daughter. Feb. 10, 1923, she was married to Earl lies of Plattsmouth. They had a son and daughter and Mr. lies raised the two step-children also. Mrs. lies was in poor health since 1956, suffering from dia betes Last summer she suffered a stroke. She died Nov. 2 at 64. Survivors are her husband, sons, Manford Biggs in the Army in Korea and Dwight lies of Pacific Junction, Iowa; daugh ters Mrs. Eleanor Clark and Mrs. Rhoda Wolfe, both of Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchilrren; and three v brothers, William, Fred and Arnold Rakow, all of Calif ornia. Funeral services were held at Caldwell-Linder Funeral Home here with the Rev. J. W. Taenz lcr of First Christian Church of ficiating. Cremation was at For est Lawn Memorial' Park, Omaha.
