Kepple Missionary To Mexico To Talk at Murray Paul Kepple, a missionary to Mexico for 30 years, will tell of his work at a special service at Murray Christian Church Sept 19. He will be entertained at a 6 p.m. supper and his address will follow. Sister churches are being in vited to join Murray's group for this evening. Mr. Kepple, a missionary for the Christian Churches (Dis ciples of Christ), was engaged In administrative and evangelis tic work and was stationed at San Luis Potosi during his last term of service in Mexico. Before that the Kepples lived at Mountain of Light Farm at Pabellon, which has as its pur pose the training of boys from ranch towns where schooling goes only as far as the third or fourth grade. The dream of such an institu tion originated with the Kep ples and they were its first di rectors. As a missionary, Mr. Kepple serves with The United Christ ian Missionary Society, an in ternational board of the Christ Ian Churches. The Kepples first went to Mexico in 1930, when they were assigned to the boys boarding school at San Luis Potosi. They both taught in Colegio Ingles, a primary school which enrolls about 350 children of Catholic, Protestant and Jewish parents. Their next assignment was at Aguascalienties, where they worked with the church and the social center. At this time Mr. Kepple began to do extension work among the ranch towns. Here he saw the need of boys for education beyond the three or four years given in their local communities. He urged the pur chase of a farm near a good pri mary school where the boys could live, learn farming and complete their education. In 1950, this dream came true in Mountain of Light Farm, which has approximately 14 boys every year. A few years later a conference grounds with its own buildings was established at the farm. For the past few years a group of girls has been studying at the farm. In 1955, the Kepples were as signed to San Luis Potosi, the only missionary couple living there, giving help and counsel to the two churches located in this city of approximately 170, 000 persons. Mr. Kepple was chosen by the Union of Christ ian workers, administrative of the mission churches, as secre tary of evangelism. He spent the major portion of this time during his last term of service giving oversight to rural congregations. In 1960, a special evangelistic campaign was launched by the churches to which Mr. Kepple gave guid ance. Mr. Kepple is a graduate of Taylor University and Hartford Seminary Foundation, Hartford, Conn. He retired in June and the Kepples live at Indianapolis.
