Cass County held their 47th Re union at Bethany Park In Lin coln August 13 with 59 attend ing from Missouri, Iowa and many towns in Nebraska. Four of the original children are living. They are Chris Span ker of Edgar, Nebr., Charles Spangler of Callaway, Nebr., Mrs. Elizabeth Kites of Malvern, la., but were unable to attend. Mrs. Cyrus Livingston of Weep ing Water was present. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Spangler of St. Joseph, Mo., came the longest distance; Mrs. Cyrus Livingston of Weeping Water was the eldest present and Ma linda Wulf of Fremont, Nebr., was the youngest. Five marriages, that of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Spangler, Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Spangler, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gobelman and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Phillips, went clown on record. Five births were recorded. Convalescent cards were sent to those who were unable to at tend. The following officers were elected: Reuel Sack of Murray, president; Mrs. Royal Smith, Plattsmouth, vice president; Mrs. Howard Miller of Unadllla, secretary; Roy Hltes of Hast ings, la., treasurer and Mrs. George Mumm, news reporter. Guests at the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beals.and family of Lincoln who had re turned from service in Spain. Mrs. Beals is a granddaughter of the late John Spangler of Mo bile, la., a cousin of the Char les Spangler family. Plans for the reunion next year are to be at Bethany Park in Lincoln. - BIRTHS - Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Larry Adkins are the parents of a 6 pound 5 ounce daughter, Terrl Ann, born Aug. 15 at St. Mary's Hospital in Ne braska City. Mrs. Adkins Is the former Judy Wiater. Grandpar ents are Mrs. Helen Wiater, Council Bluffs, la., and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Austin of Plattsmouth. Fashioned of luxurious materials, enchantingly colored. 2.59 - '2.98 - Ladies 1 st Door East Of RLDS Meeting At Burcham Home The Women's Department of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints held their August meeting at the home of Mrs. Howard Burcham. Marilyn Buffalow gave the de votions ;.nd Alyce Green pre sented the lesson. A food sale was held at the close of the meetiing with the proceeds to go toward the build ing fund. September meeting will be at the home of Eleanor Coolman. Local Residents Fly To Hawaii Attorney Florence A. Fouchek and Lorls B. Long, local realtor, together with Miss Fouchek's mother, Mrs. S. A. Fouchek of Creston, Iowa, have returned home from a two weeks trip to the fiftieth state, Hawaii. They flew both ways in less than 16 hours flight time from Omaha. Their tour took them to both the Island of Oahu and the island of Hawaii. While in Honolulu they enjoyed visiting with Dr. and Mrs. R. P. Westover, former residents of Plattsmouth. St. Paul's Circle 1 Circle one of the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church met in the church par lors with a 12:30 o'clock picnic dinner. Each brought a covered dish. There were 13 members and four visitors present. Devotions were given by Mrs. P. A. Meisinger, assisted by Mrs. Orval Muller. Chairman Mrs. Richard Wohl farth called the meeting to order. There will be a coffee so cial Aug. 24 with first half of Circle Three serving. Next meeting will be Sept. 19 with Miss Amelia Martens, Mrs. Robert Brookhouser and Mrs. Ferd Nolte as hostesses. Travelers Bingo was played for entertainment. Mrs. Thomas Linhart return ed home Sunday from St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha where she was a patient for two weeks. '3.98 - Toggery Plattsmouth State Bank Vernon Creers Mark Silver Anniversary GREENWOOD (Special) The silver wedding anniversary open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Greer held at the Meth odist church Sunday afternoon was attended by more than 200 persons. The tables were decorated with pink roses and pink carna tions. Those who poured coffee were Mrs. Roy Tennant, Mrs. Ivan Althouse, Mrs. Stanley McGill, Mrs. Elmer Schlaphoff, Mrs. Gerald Barger, Mrs. Mabel Lambert and Mrs. Walter Mar olf. Serving cake were Mrs. Harry Schmidt, Mrs. George McKay, Mrs. Harold McOill, Mrs. Russell Brown, Mrs. John Downing, Mrs. Walter Witzel and Mrs. Glen Marolf. Pouring punch were Marilyn Munn, Mary Schmidt and Janet Adams. At the guest book were Mary Louise Jeffery, Linda Sutton, Carol Leadabrand and Anna Marolf. Taking care of gifts and cards were Joyce Spader, Virgene Schuelke, Patsy Brown and Janet Schlaphoff. Helping with service were Jan McGill, Jennie S. Jeffery, Kathy McGill, Kathy Hammer and Vicki Voehl. The Grace Circle served In the kitchen. Descendants Of J. A. Wilson Reunion at Wahoo .. ,. The 4th Wilson reunion was held Aug. 13 in Wahoo. Relatives came from Wash., Colo., Kan sas, Mo., Nebr., and New York. There are ten living children of the late J. A. and Elizabeth Wilson of the Plattsmouth and Murray communities. Six broth ers and three sisters were there. Albert from Wahoo; Fount of Fremont; H. Kie from Bremer ton, Wash.; Wayne from Blairs town, Mo.; Dave from Kansas and Levi from Avoca, Nebr.; Emily (now Mrs. Russell Wil son), Omaha; Mary (now Mrs. Herb Beins) Bentley, Kansas and Anna Pearl (now Mrs. Roy Belns), Plattsmouth. Rena (now Mrs. John Crump) the eldest sister was unable to attend. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson, Plattsmouth. A good time was enjoyed by all looking forward to the 1962 reunion to be held in Oklahoma at the home of Mrs. John Crump. There were 114 descendants of J. A. Taenzler and daughters Mary and Julie returned home Tuesday from a weeks visit with the oldest daughter Mrs. Richard Harold In Palatine, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green of Fremont, former Plattsmouth residents, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Rihn Sunday, and the group enjoyed a trip to Glenwood, la. The Green's son John is now an MD in the serv ice, and another son, Gordon is chief inspector for a packing company in Omaha. John and Gordon attended school in Plattsmouth during their par ents residence here. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hendricks, Miss Marilyn Hendricks and Mrs. Edward Donat were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Fern Hendricks in Omaha Sunday. The dinner was in honor of the birthdays of Mrs. Vern Hen dricks and Marilyn which occur in this month. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Petrasek and family from Grand Island have been visiting several days here with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grad oville. On their return home they will stop in Friend to visit his folks. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Andrew and Tamara Jo of Nemaha vis ited Sunday evening at the LeRoy Wilson home. Mrs. An drew and Mrs. Wilson are cous ins. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harms and Sharon were evening guests of his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Harms of Omaha on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. R.' R. Furse have returned home after spending the summer months at their cot tage on Sandas Beach, Minne sota. Captain A. E. Chovanec and family, Plattsmouth residents, now on duty in Spain, have been on leave in Germany. They ex pect to return to the States in another year. Mrs. Marian A. Taylor, Sr.. entered Lutheran Hospital in Omaha Tuesday night and is in room 303. She is undergoing ob servation. Mr. and Mrs. Ravmond -Ad r. aid kins of Denver, Colo., and son Ray, Jr. were here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Redd. They were enroute and left here Monday for a ten day visit at Huntington, West Virginia, old home town of Mr. Adkins. Henry Herold of San Marino, Calif., was here for the 98th birthday of his mother, Mrs. Henry Herold. He visited here from Sunday to Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ruback returned Tuesday from a two weeks vacation in the Black Hills, Yellowstone National Park and Colorado. Jeff Tincher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tincher, 1604 Valley St., was admitted to Children's Hospital Tuesday afternoon. Jeff was to have major surg ery. He is in room 203. Thursday, Aug. 17 The Eagles Auxiliary will meet Thursday, Aug. 17, at 8 p.m. for their regular meeting at the Eagles Hall; officers meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 The Gleaners Circle of the Methodist Church will meet with Mrs. Lloyd Fitch at 8 p.m. There will be a silent auction. Monday, Aug. 21 Bud of Promise of Rebekah Lodge will meet at the hall at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 Plattsmouth Garden Club will meet with Mrs. Frank Llnder at 2 p.m. Roll call will be vines. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hild, Rol land and Richard returned Fri day from vacationing in Ariz ona. They also visited the Hilds' daughter Betty, Mrs. Clyle Gray at Flagstaff. Mrs. Arthur Mohr is home now after having undergone surgery at St. Catherine's Hospital in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Don Akeson of Lincoln were hosts to their three children Jim, Leslie and Lynn, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ake son at The Bohemian Cafe in Omaha on Sunday. They later returned to the Akeson home where they enjoyed visiting and lunch in the evening. Mrs. Jean Reafleng is a pa tient at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, room 240. She has had surgery. New officers are: Chairman, Sharon Schalk; vice chairman, Cathy Long; secretary, Judith Ohnoutka; treasurer, Connie Richards; chaplain, Patty Bis hop; historian, Linda Ballinger; flag bearer, Barbara Loper and courtesy chairman, Leone Oh noutka. Mrs. Donald Warga, Auxiliary President, installed the officers. The new president selected a committee to make plans for a tour before school starts. Leone and Judith Ohnoutka and Cathy Long will act on this committee. Serving on the Telephone committee are Suzanne Solomon and Judith Ohnoutka. The year books are to be com pleted and ready for the covers by the September meeting. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served by Judith and Leone Ohnoutka. Sunbonnet Garden Club Members Hold Annual Picnic Mrs. Lee Eastridge was host ess to tiie annual picnic of the Sunbonnet Garden Club at her home Aug. 10. The sumptuous picnic dinner was served at one o'clock on the spacious lawn with 12 members and two guests present. Later all retired to the house where a short business meeting was held; afterwhich games were played. Winning prizes were given Mrs. LeRoy Covert, Mrs. Stella Coffelt, Mrs. Earl Shanholtz. Flowers were brought by members and again were taken to Riverview Rest Home. Sep tember meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Earl Shanholtz. Roll call to be an item on labor. Later the young folks enjoyed swimming in the pool at the park. Oldest member present w.s Mrs. Rachel Strough; youngest member to go on record was Kevin Lee Scheltel, 6 days old, great grandson of Mrs. Strough. Officers elected were Presi dent, Frank D.
