Goering An evening wedding was held July 30 at the Bethel Church of Auburn, Nebraska uniting In niarrhiBa Miss Oda Jayne Schoe makcr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kail Shoemaker of Auburn, and William P. Goering son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goering of Louis ville. The bride, given In marriage by her father, was attired in a white imported dotted swlss dress of street length. It was fashioned with a full skirt with sabrina neckline, edged in mini ature daisies centered with rhincstonenj With it she wore a short jacket with bracelet length sleeves and peter pan collar. It was also trimmed with miniature daisies centered with rhlnestones. Her dress was fashioned and made by her mother. Her only Jewelry was white button pearl earrings, a gift of the groom. The bride carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations centered with three pink ones. It was encircled with white net and tied with a huge bow of white satin ribbon. Her lace and linen handkerchief was tied in the bow and was carried by her great-grandmother at her wed ding 118 years ago. Mrs. Jack Conners of Elm wood, aunt of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Her dress was a baby blue jersey with net over velvet head band. She car ried a pink colonial bouquet fashioned like the bride's. Jack Conners of Elmwood, uncle of the bridegroom, was best man. The men wore dark business suits with white carnation bou onnieres. Cecil Gerdes Jr. of Plattsmouth and Edwin Stuben deck of Unadilla were ushers. For her daughters wedding, Mrs. Schoemaker chose black crepe with black and white ac cessories. The mother of the bridegroom wore beige. Roth mothers wore pink and white carnation corsages. Miss Elaine Rogge played a prelude of bridal music while the guests were being seated, also the traditional wedding march. She also accompanied Karen Blount wha-ssmg. - A reception followed the cere mony at the church. The bride's table was covered with pink net over pink taffeta. It was flanked by 2 pink topers in bone glass holders. A bone glass vase with garden flowers completed the table. Miss Elaine Rogge and Miss Karen Blount waited on the bride's table. Miss Phyllis Oroff, Mrs. James Furnace of Auburn and Miss Darlene Hilton of Sabetha. Kans., helped with the gifts. Miss Ethel Zubler of Sabetha, Kans., had charge of the guest book. Mrs. Jean Gerdes of Platts mouth, Mrs. Ernest Schoemaker of Omaha, Mrs. Charles Wagner of Falls City and Mrs. Richard Schoemaker of Des Moines, sis ters and sister-in-law of the bride, served. Mrs. Goering graduated with the class of 1960 from Auburn High School, has since been em ployed In Omaha, Plattsmouth and more recently in Elmwood. Mr. Goering received his edu cation in the Elmwood school. He served two years in the Army, 11 months of which were spent in Korea. Since his return he has been engaged In farming. After a wedding trip to Colo rado Mr. and Mrs. Goering are at home on a farm west of Elm wood. Louisville Schools To Open Aug. 28 LOUISVILLE (Special) The Louisville Public Schools will open Monday, Aug. 28. Registration dates are Tues day, Aug. 22, for Juniors and Seniors and Wednesday, Aug. 23, for Sophomores and Freshmen. Donald Boiler Serving in Spain ROTA, Spain A Greenwood, Nebr., bluejacket is serving in Europe with Fleet Air Recon naissance Squadron Two at the Naval Station, Rota, Spain. Donald D. Boiler, aviation electrician's mate airman ap prentice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Boiler of Greenwood, reported to the reconnaissance squadron from the Naval Air Technical Training Unit, Jack sonville, Fla. Before entering the Navy in October 1960, Boiler was grad uated from Ashland High School, Ashland, Nebr. A Classified Ad in The Journal cost as little as 50 cents. SATTLER Funeral Home Dial 3123 To School! Ladies Aid of Immanuel Meets LOUISVILLE (Special) The Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid met with 37 present. Mrs. Frank Koterzlna, Sr., called the meet ing to order. Mrs. George Vogler Jr., dele gate to the international conven tion at Pittsburgh, gave a report on the highlights of the conven tion and their trip. She showed many interesting articles which she had brought home with her. The church parlors have re cently been redecorated by the aid. Hostesses Iola Wendt and Elsie Wendt served refreshments. Birthday Party For Eight-Year-Old Patricia Lee Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Morris was honored on her 8th birth day Saturday afternoon with a party at the home of her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Weight. Games were played and prizes were awarded. After the honoree opened her many gifts, refreshments were served to the guests which in cluded: Barbara Loper, Kathy Hol man, Kathy Karros, Ruth Kay Moranz, Cheryl Wilson, Cheryl Pohlmeler, Leone Ohnoutka, Emily Fees, Cathy Berlett and the guest of honors brother, Carl Morris. Lewiston Social Circle Meets Lewiston Social Circle Club met Aug. 8 with Minnie Schrlber with Beulah Albin as co-hostess. There were 15 members present. Meeting was opened by giving the flag salute. Several songs were sung. Devotions given by Clara Campbell. Birthday song was sung for members. After the business meeting, Esther Lewis and Esther Thompson gave the lesson on the "Care of House Plants." The hostess served lunch. Next meeting will be Sept. 8 at Mrs. Pike's at Union, with Eva Becker as co-hostess. There will be election of of ficers also drawing for new cap sule friends and telling who were capsule friends for 1960. Esther Thompson, reporter. Bridal Shower Honors Miss Zajic A bridal shower was given for Jackie Zajic at the home of Con nie Diggs Friday night. Those assisting at the shower were Mary Wohlfarth, Sharon Haecko, and Shirley Gunsolley. Thirty guests attended, which included most of her classmates graduating in 1960. Bingo was played and several prizes were won. The gift table was decorated with aqua and white streamers and a large white wedding bell hung from the ceiling. Miss Connie Diggs and Miss Sharon Haecke assisted Miss Zajic as she opened her gifts. Refreshments were served. Lutheran Ladies Guild Meets The First Lutheran Ladies Guild held its monthly meeting Aug. 9 at the church. Pastor Nenow led the topic "Money and its Connection with the Church." A temporary treasurer, Louise Huebner, was appointed, as the regular treasurer, Kathleen Smutz, has moved to Fremont. The Guild is preparing lay ettes to be sent over-seas. Roll call and the Lord's Prayer closed the meeting. Refreshments were served by Helen Tiekotter and Helen Shropshire. CALENDAR Tuesday, Aug. 15 Regular meeting of the Odd Fellows at 8 p.m. in the IOOF Hall. Heitzhausen were wed July 29 at Portland, Ore. She is the former Raydene Chisum of Medford, Ore. After a wedding trip to British Columbia, they are at home at Tigard, Ore. He is auditor for the United States Na tional Bank of Portland; she, secretary for the staff of doctors at Good Samaritan Hospital. He is the son of Mrs. F. II. Heitzhausen of Portland, the former Grace Nolting of Plattsmouth. Mrs. Meisinger's Students Win Honors Students of Mrs. Arnold Meis incer from Meisinger Studio, Plattsmouth and Hospe's Studio, Omaha, took part in the fifth annual M.A.M.A. Festival held at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum Omaha Aug. 12. In the Orkette division the "4 Lads and A Lass" local group, Linda D. Herre, John Aschen brenner, Angelo Holman, Larry Jones and Ken Meisinger won a Superior rating and received individual ribbons and certifi cates and a trophy goes to the studio. Linda Herre received a super ior rating on her solo in Class B and received a Trophy. Excel lent ratings on solos were re ceived by John Aschenbrenner, Angelo Holman, Larry Jones and Linda Snell all of Platts mouth. The "Happy Harmony Band'' from Hospe Studio Omaha con ducted by Mrs. Meisinger re ceived a superior rating also with a score of 98.8 . The studio receives a Trophy, the teacher a certificate and each member a superior blue and gold ribbon. Anthony Galli Rini was one of the judges in the arena where the band played. Other Superior's were John Sothmann, Marikay Policello, Patty Lewis and Susan Bremer of Omaha. Excellent ratings went to Sandra Goodman, Linda Hayes, Class AAA; Don Noble, Judy Tisthammer, Frankie Kastelic, Jack Lawless and John Ham mon, Class A; Carol Peterson, Linda Watters, Linda Johnson, Class B; Ken Bremer, Class C; Christine Countryman, Class E; and Terry Lawless and Jo Ann Watters, Class F. All students of Mrs. Meisinger played in the evening perform ance of the massed band, con ducted by Mr. Galli Rini. More than 800 accordionists took part in the Festival. Members of the Happy Har mony Band presented Mrs. Meis inger a corsage of Sweetheart Roses. This is the first year member ship and participation in the Mid America Music Association of Mrs. Meisinger's group. Service Sons Return LOUISVILLE (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Arnot Cushman re ceived word last week from their son, Sgt. Earl Cushman that they had arrived safely in the United States and were at Tra vis Air Force Base In California. The Earl Cushmans have four children. They are returning from a three year tour of duty in the Phillipines. Sgt. Cushman will be stationed at Reno, Nev. The Arnot Cushman's also re ceived word from their other son Cpl. Richard Cushman. He will leave Japan Aug. 23 after a 13-month tour of the Orient. Richard is in the Marines and will visit his parents while on leave. XAll.Your News And. The program was presented by Mrs. Calvin Grell with the as sistance of Mrs. Earl Beck and Mrs. Ernest Gruber. The next meeting will be Sept. 5. Couple In Lincoln For Celebration Mr. and Mrs. Herman L. Maa sen spent ihe past weekend at Lincoln visiting with their dau ghter and family, M-Sgt. and Mrs. William B. Mayle, Ronald and Douglas. The Maasen's accompanied their grandson, Ronald, to his home after his recent two weeks vacation with his grandparents. While at Lincoln the Maasen's were feted with a dinner for the celebration of Mrs. Maasen's birthday and also the Maasen's 37th wedding anniversary which both occurred August 12. Mary Heil Honored At Bridal Shower LOUISVILLE (Special) A miscellaneous shower was held Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Doty, honor ing Miss Mary Heil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Heil of Louisville. Miss Heil will be wed Aug. 25 to Demiis Siekman of Waverly. Hostesses for the shower were Miss Sandra Doty, Mrs. Mary Mansfield, Mrs. Larry Board man of Louisville and Mrs. Mar vin Manske of Lincoln. There were about 20 guests in attendance. TO GET DEGREE James Albert Kraeger will be one of 29 August graduates re ceiving Bachelor of Arts degrees at the Aug. 18 commencement exercises at Westmar College, Le Mars, Iowa. This is the larg est summer graduating class in the history of the college. Kraeger, a natural science di visional major, is from Platts mouth and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kraeger.
