Modern Teens 4-H WEEPING WATER (Special) The Modern Teens 4-H Club met on Wednesday evening at the home of James Bender. Pat rlcla Cox and Patricia Sears of Oakford, 111. were guests. The girls answered roll call by naming a flavoring and the boys by naming a hardwood tree. Mary Alice Wood, president, presided at the meeting. Betty Wade gave a talk on child care. The girls made plans for their achievement program, held Aug. 2 at the home of the leader, Mrs. Clarence Norris. Three of the girls, Carol Nic kels, Mary Alice Wood and Suz anne Seeger will represent the Club at the Song contest. Mrs. S. H. Harmon will be the accom panist. Carrie Shafer and Sheral Kirchhoff were guests. Roll call was answered by tell ing middle names. The hostess song was "Ere You Left Your Room," followed by the club prayer. Mrs. Grady and daughter will make their home in Lincoln now as Vernon will leave this fall for a year of service in Korea. Mrs. Harold Mason and Jerry left Thursday evening to re turn to their home at Cupertino, Calif, after spending a month visiting with Mrs. Mason's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kyles and other relatives. Mrs. Olive suffered a heart attack a week ago and is in Bryan hospital. She expepts to be there for 3 or 4 weeks yet. Inez Jardine spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jardine after leaving the hospital where she had un dergone surgery for gallstones. Mr. and Mrs. John Aschbacker of Omaha are the parents of a daughter born, Monday, July 24 at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. She weighed six pounds and 15 ounces and has been named Christine Marie. Mrs. Aschbacher is the former Florlne Hell of Louisville. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Hans Aschbacher and Mrs. Hen ry E. Heil all of Louisville. Achievement Day NEHAWKA (Special) The Early Bird Poultry 4-H Club Achievement Day was held at Stelnhart Park Sunday with a picnic and swimming party. Mrs. Malcolm Pollard Is the leader. Mrs. Pollard and Clarence Schmadeke, County Acnt, Weeping Water, took the mem bers of the club to a county judging contest at Springfield recently. They judged chickens and eggs. Nell Balfour, reporter. Mrs. Earl Hurlbut entered the Clarkson hospital in Omaha Tuesday morning and under went major surgery Friday morning. She is getting alons; as well as can be expected.
