Dr. and Mrs. Robert Yekel and daughter, Shelley of Seattle, Washington, arrived in Louis ville last week for a visit with Mrs. Yekel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Wright and Janet. They had visited relatives in Bayard before coming to Louis ville. Dr. Yekel left Sunday to return to his home but Mrs. Yekel and Shelley remained for a longer visit. They will leave this Sunday and will be accom panied by Mrs. Yekel's sister, Miss Janet Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Heard and Kathy visited Sunday after noon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allyn Meyer and Kerri Sue in Omaha. Her guests were Mrs. James Doyle, Sr., Mrs. John Cannon, Mrs. Rayl Burke, Mrs. William Jar rett and Mrs. Leo Ryan all of Omaha and Mrs. John Bogard of Louisville. Bridge was played following the breakfast. Relatives from Lincoln, Papil licn, Walthill, Omaha, Fremont, South Bend and Louisville gath ered at the Legion Hall Sunday with well filled basket dinners to honor the 80th birthday of Gene Dunn. A nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stutzman of Chi cago, flew here for the celebra tion. There were 70 in attend ance. Douglas Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bigelow of Denver, Colo., arrived Sunday and will spend the rest of the summer with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Burmelster. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Robbins, Carol and Judy arrived home Saturday from Pueblo, Colorado where they had gone to attend the funeral of Joe Robbins, an uncle of Tom's. The Louisville Explorer Post No. 451 met Monday evening, June 26. It was announced by Post Advisor Roger Scholting that instructions on the use of the acetylene torch will start on the July 10 meeting. Sunday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Yanak were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Golda of Springfield. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schmader were Sunday evening supper guests at the Herbert Stander home. Mrs. Clarence Sjogren and children were Thursday after noon callers at the home of Mrs. Zelma Sutton. The Louisville Fire Depart ment was called to the Herbert Schleuter farm south of Manley Thursday morning about 11 o'clock. The barn burned but the rest of the buildings were saved. Mrs. Jack Lemon and son Scott of Rushville were visitors last week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Beadle. Sharon Workman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Davidson of Des Moines, Iowa is visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pingree and children. Hinkle and sons, Roy and Roger. Vacation Bible School at South Eend ended last Sunday with a program and a picnic at the Hall. Mrs. Mike Marks and son left Sunday for their home at Wor land, Wyo. after spending five weeks with Mrs. Tillie Swartz and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Tanner and Johnny. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stone received word that Jim Sturm of Sioux City, Iowa is in the hospital there. He had two toes cut with a lawn mower. His foot slipped and the mower rolled over his foot. The big toe and the next were the ones injured. The second toe was cut off and doctors were trying to save the big toe. It will be three mon ths before he can drive a car. The Sturm family were former Nehawka residents. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cornell, Avoca, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pike, Union were guests Sunday of the Frank Wardens. Byron Warlick, Mike and Dan of McCook, Nebr. were weekend guests of the I. A. Warlick fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Warlick and family of Falls City were weekend guests of the Alfred Warlicks.
