1 1 V HIE PLATTSMOUTH JOURNAL PAOG TWO Thursday, May 18, 1901 Tim's Bar Wins 6th S-Ball Game Tim's Bar of Plattsmouth ran its Glenwood Soltball League record to 2-0 and its season mark to 6-0 Thursday. Tim's beat Razor Straps of Glenwood, 6-2. Ron Buethe pitched a two-hitter and struck out 13. Merle Dasher led the hitting with three for four. Ken Schroeder's double was the longest hit. Sunday, Tim's defeated Top Spot Bar, leader of the Omaha American League, 4-3, in Oma ha. Doyle LeRoy held the Oma ha team hit-less through four innings. In trouble in the sev enth, a double play pulled him out. Two runs were in with one out and runners on first and second. Bill McCormick came up with . a good fielding play to start the double play. Dasher led the hitting with two doubles. John Porter also had a double. Hitting incentive has been offered Tim's by a local barber who said he will give a free hail cut for each home run and a cafe promised a steak dinner for each homer. Tim's piayers are Dasher, shortstop; McCormick, 2b; Por ter, lb; Al Dietrich, 3b; Ken Schioeder, c; John Blotzer, in field or outfield; Hodge Eaton, c or outfield; Cliff Tunnell, out field; Bill Buck, outfield; Hal Gobelman, infield or outfield; Don Woods, outfield; Ron Bue the, p; Doyle LeRoy, p; and Don Eaton, manager. Hurst 3rd in State College 100 Jim Hurst of Plattsmouth fin ished third at :10.3 in the 100 yard dash at last weekend's State Teachers College Track Meet at Kearsey. Hurst also ran the third leg of Peru State's third place fin ish in the 880-yard relay, turned in 1:34.6; and was fifth in the 220 at :23.1. Phil Rhodes of Weeping Wa ter placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 165 feet, inch and tied for fifth in the high jump with 5 feet, 8 Inches.
