Mrs. Niles Coleman entertain ed a pinochle party at her home Thursday. Mrs. Oliver Boiler entered Bryan Memorial Hospital Tues day. Mrs. George Rouse spent Mon day and Tuesday in Providence Hospital for ex-rays and obser vation. Marilyn Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hall under went tonsilectomy Monday, May 1, at Bryan Memorial Hospital. Her grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Martin and her aunt Miss Alice Boucher called on Marilyn the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Woitzel called on Robert Graham. Mrs. Ben Howard and Mrs. Oliver Boiler at the Bryan Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon. Af ter visiting the hospital pa tients the Woitzels drove to Syracuse and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lewi" Wiles. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Marvin re turned home recently after spending the winter in Florida. They spent a few days this past week with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Knolle and family of Souix City, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weltoh were Friday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Huston Welton In honor of Ronnie Welton's 21 birthday. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Haertel and family attended a wedding of Mrs. Haertel's cousin in Oma ha Saturday evening. They invited their mothers and presented them with flowers for Mother's Day. The Cubs received awards they had earned. Coffee and cookies were served. Den Mothers are Mrs. Lorraine Hostetter and Mrs. Norma Macrander. Manager, Umpires Meeting Wednesday A meeting of managers and umpires for the Summer Rec reation Baseball Program here will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Eagles Hall, Ray Simons, program director announced to day. Simons asked that anyone wishing to umpire attend the meeting. To Nebraskans . . WEEPING WATER (Special) The Junior Circle of the Chris tian Women's Fellowship met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jack Howard Mrs. Henry Irons opened the meeting with group singing and prayer. Roll call was answered by each member telling what they would like to do for Moth er's Day. Mrs. William Klemme pre sented the devotions. She used as her topic, "A Way of Hope Mrs. Edward Van Horn read the Scripture. Mrs. Howard gave the mis' slonary lesson on "Providing Tools for the Task. Mrs. Lynn Rothe gave a mis sionary article, "Christian Women's Fellowship, Congo Fashion." The June meeting will be with Mrs. Irons The Senior Circle of the Chris tian Women's Fellowship was held on Thursday afternoon in the church parlors. Mrs. Leo Christensen, group chairman, presided at the meeting Mrs. Ed Freeman presented the devotions, using as her topic, "Light in the Evening." Mrs. Christensen gave the missionary lesson on "Providing Tools for the Task." Mrs. Charles Freeman read a thank you note from the Mis sionary Society for the gowns and shirts sent for overseas. The June meeting will be with Mrs. John Rieke. The Welfare Society met on Monday afternoon in the I.O.O.F. Hall with twenty mem bers present and four guest, Mrs. Ai Bickford, Mrs. Dave Durst, Carrie Shaffer and Mrs Sam Hughes. Mrs. Durst and Mrs. Bickford became members. Mrs. Ross Kinton, president, presided at the meeting. Mrs. Fred Ward presented the devo tions. Mrs. Theodore Carnes read a "Tribute to Grandma" written by Mrs. Robert Jewell. Mrs. Herbert Petersen gave a reading, "Half Way Doln's Ain't No Count." A Mother's Day program was presented. Ten of the members took part in a Mother s Day Candlelighting service, entitled, "Say It With Flowers." The program closed with the group singing of "My Mother's Bible," followed with prayer. The afternoon was spent sew ing quilt blocks. There were seven quilt tops and two com pleted robes donated to the Society.- ' " Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Petersen, Mrs. Adam Cook, Mrs. Clara Rector and Mrs. H. I. Rookstool. The Weeping Water Woman's Club met Tuesday morning for a May breakfast at the Christian Church. The breakfast was served to 50 members and guests by the Senior Circle of the Chris tian Women's Fellowship. The tables were centered with bouquets of spring flowers and the favors were miniature May poles. Following the breakfast Mrs. Laurence Houseman presided at the business meeting. Mrs. Lawrence Wiseman and Mrs. Neil Munkres gave a re port of the State Convention. Mrs. Murray Mutter installed the new officers. She presented each officer with a spring cor sage. Officers installed were, Mrs. Neil Munkres, president; Mrs. I. C. G. Campbell, vice-presi dent; Mrs. Fred Ward, secre tary and Mrs. Harold Blaikle, treasurer. Margaret Lorensen, Carol Schlueter and Dian Rector each played a piano selection. Brownie Troop 247 met at the home of Mrs. Richard Taylor and Brenda. Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Edgar Mogensen assisted Mrs. Lewis Baker with the meet ing. The girls worked on their Mother's Day gifts and invlta- tions for the Mother's Day tea and Fly-up ceremony which will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 3:30 p.m., at the Congregational church. Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Banning spent several days at Grand Is land this week where they were attending the State Postal Convention and visiting Mr. and Mrs. Earl. Grimminger. L. J. Hutchinson of Platts- mouth delivered the sermon last Sunday morning at the Meth odist Church in the absence of Rev. A. L. Embree who was ill. Mrs. E. M. Rathe of Omaha is spending a couple of days with her mother, Mrs. L. G. Todd and also,, will attend the Mother Daughter banquet at the Meth odist Church. Eagle Seniors Go To Denver EAGLE (Special) The Senior Class, sponsor Pete Karabatsos and Mrs. Calista Nails, Eagle school kindergarten teacher 12 years ago, went on Senior Trip Day to Denver. They left Lincoln by train Fri day night, arrived in Denver Saturday at 7 a.m., breakfasted and had a bus tour of the moun tains, seeing Look Out Mountain and Buffalo Bill's Cabin. They returned Sunday night to Lincoln and were met by some of the parents.
