Grant Roberts Mayor Attest: Albert Olson City Clerk Special Meeting Feb. 18, 191.1 ' Council Chambers City Hall City Council met in special session at 9:00 o'clock a.m. as per the call of the Mayor for the purpose of a hearing on a charge that Raymond J. Uher, Licensee, selling alcoholic liquor to a minor on January 31, 1961 and to deter mine what aclidn is to be taken by the City Council with respect to said license. The following' were present: Mayor Grant Roberts, Councilmen L. W. Moore, Wm. G. High field, C. W. Rhylander, City Attorney Har old R. Lebens, City Clerk Albeit Olson. Absent: Councilman A. W. Hncbncr. Testimonies were given by Ronald Lee Mount, Chief of Po lice Tesch, Mrs. Paul Baburek, and Raymond J. Ulver. After discussion a resolution was pass ed suspending the off sale pack age liquor license of Raymond J. Uher for a period of 25 days commencing at 6:00 o'clock a.'i. on Feb. 27, 1961 and ending at 1:00 o'clock a.m. on March 24, 1961. No further business motion carried meeting adjourn. Rosen crans with Mrs. Seward as hos tess, on Feb. 21. The table was beautifully dec orated with cherries and hatch ets in keeping with Washington's birthday, as also was the cherry dessert. At 8 p.m. the Regent Mrs. Mollie Gobelman called the meetiing to order. Patriotic, chairman, Mrs. Johnston, led the members in giving the pled ge of Allegiance to the Flag and the American Creed. Mrs. Philpot gave the devo--tionals, Mathew 7-9. The main thought was "Feed my sheep -r If the sheep go astray the lambs will follow." Mrs. Johnston reported the ' DAR had placed a new book in ' the city library, "Wild .Life of America" This book was com- I Pil(1d by the National Geograph- ic Magazine and beautifully ill ustrated. Mrs. Mann reported the Citi-' ?en Essay Contest had been given in the Plattsmouth High School. She also reported 34 DAR citizenship Manuals had been mailed to residents of Cass Coun-' ly who had registered applica tions for American Citizrnshr.i at the Plattsmouth Post office. Mrs. Rosencrans read the Pre- j sidc"t Generals letter Mrs. Reilly conducted thp Ips son. The members brought a number of pieces of old glass heirlooms. She brought, with her some of her collection and show ed how to distinguish original old from the present day imita tions. j Red Cross Meeting A meeting of the Cass County Chapter of the American Red Cross was held at the home of Mrs. Vance Balfour in Nehawka Feb. 16. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Orval Kahler, chairman, with only six mem bers present. County Fund Drive Chairman is to be Mrs. Vance Balfour. The Goal for 1961 drive is $5,i81. In !be past five years the County has fallen far short of its intend ed goal. Last year only 61 per cent of its funds goal was reach ed. Robert Delaney, Field Rep resentative from Offutt, related many of his experiences in the Red Cross, in his travels from different parts of the world to Offutt.
