1 Merry Workers Club Gives To Drives Merrv Workers Extortion Club mot Tuosdnv afternoon at the home of Mrs. Fred Reins. Club members voted to send SI to the "Heart Fund" $2 to the "Red Cross and $2 to the "Cancer Fund." The meeting was railed to order hv the president Mrs John Hild. Fourteen memrjers and one visitor answered roll rail by eomnleting th.- statement "the business center in my homo is." The hosnital pewing project was completed and the garments are being sent to the hospital. Mrs. Joe Loohman and Mrs. Henrv Vinduska were appointed as chairman and co-chairman to plan a club tour for this spring. Business meeting was conclud ed with the committee leaders reports. Mrs. Henry Vinduska piving devotions Mrs. Robert Kiser leading in a song game "Guess the sonu title;" and Mrs. Willis Colp giving a safety re port. The club president gave a citizenship report. Mrs. Qole and Mrs. Kiser pre-I sented a demonstration lesson I on "Create Your Own Business Center." The group gained many new ideas to improve their household organization. The afternoon was concluded with the "Silent Auction." Refreshments centered around a "George Washington" theme was yerved by the hostess Mrs. Fred Reins. Next meeting will be held Tuesday afternoon March 14 at the home of Mrs. Ralph Parken ing. Mrs. Larry Vallery and Mrs. Henry Vinduska will present the demonstration lesson on "Line And Design In Clothing." Mmes. Anna Helmlnk and Ula Westlake presented the lesson, "Creating Your Own Business Center." Mrs. John Fischer was a visitor. During the business meeting conducted by Mrs. Orris Lannin1; the members voted to contribute to the Heart Fund. They alsol contributed to the Cancer and Polio Drives recently. Next meeting will be at Mrs. Hollie Stewart's home March 21. Kenosha Club Meets With Mrs. Sack The February meeting of the Kenosha Extension Club was held at the Murray home of Mrs. Louis Sack. Roll call by seven members and a guest was "Where is Your Birth Certifi cate?" Mrs. Sack presented a lesson on "Create Your Own Business Center." She stressed easy ac cess to business and family pa pers and farm and personal af fairs by separate filing. Gwen Spangler provided additional pointers. Members gave personally to the Murray Heart Fund. Mrs. Sack read the poem Is Your House in Order?" The March lesson will be at Mrs. Forest Beil's. Lunch was served by the hos tess. Scouters To Be Honored Here Plattsmouth Boy Scout troops Tuesday night will honor local old time Scouters at a ceremony at a special meeting at the Lions Community Building. Ray Story will make the flag presentation. Ted Hanley of Omaha, Scout training commissioner for the Covered Wagon Council will make "Century Awards" and speak briefly. Eagle MYF Croups At Youth Meeting EAGLE (Sepcialt Several carloads of young folks from the Senior and Intermediate MYF of Eagle Methodist Church attend ed the three-district All Youth Meeting Wednesday evening at the St. Paul Methodist Church, Lincoln. The meetings were held Sun day to Friday in observance of Nebraska Methodism. Bishop Copeland, Nebr. Bis hop was the Evangelist Speaker and Dr. Glenn Johnson of Dal las, Texas, the Choral Director. The Eagle Choir could not at tend Monday night and was in cluded with the MYF Groups Wednesday. Adults accompanying the young folks were Rev. and Mrs. Robert Bowne, Mmes. Clinton Westlake, Eldee McKay and John Fischer. Drivers were Har lan Johnson, Jerry Ronhovde Olive Westlake, Kathy Einfeldt and Rev. and Mrs. Bowne. John Retelsdorf Is 92 Years Old John Retelsdorf celebrated his 92nd birthday Feb. 22 at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Payne, where he makes his home. Guests calling were Mr. and Mrs. Glen McClure, Mrs C J. White, Mrs. Lee Glenn and Jean ne, Mrs. Gene Swim, Mrs. Bruce Gold, Martha Thimgan. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Smalley, Jr., and family. Also Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burns and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smalley and family. Grandson, Dr. C. Lee Retels dorf and family of Omaha called and wished the celebrant a hap py birthday; Mrs. Neva Hen dricks, a daughter of Mr. Retels dorf, was also a guest at the Payne home, as was a great great granddaughter, Pearl Ann Hrmmers. Col. Frederick II. Marsh is one of the three Strategic Air Command representatives who will speak at a public meeting in Elmwood, Wednesday, .March 1. They will describe how the Atlas launch site will be operated by the Lincoln Air Force Base launch crews. KEEP IN Friends of Mrs. Helen Snod grass and Mrs. Nellie Jackson who happened in at Feldhousen Drug Store at the right time Fri day morning were invited to share a birthday cake baked by Mrs. Fred Feldhousen for the occasion. Both of the ladies share birthdates, and according to them, with Bill Wetenkamp. Bill, however didn't show up for the cake and coffee. Leaving the city soon to make their home in California il plans materialize are Mrs. Elizabeth Solomon and daughter Vera. They plan their departure Sat urday. Dennis Haecke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Haecke, is home now from the hospital where he was taken by ambulance this past week following a sleigh rid ing accident. Dennis is doing fine. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Born returned home Thursday after a five weeks vacation in the west. They spent two weeks in Arizona and the remainder of the time on the road and visit ing in California. Mrs. Reuel Sack of Murray re turned home Thursday evening from St. Mary's Hospital in Ne braska City where she had sur gery. Don't forget the Caucuses Febr. 28! Gidley of Fremont, not Mrs. Ann Gigley as erroneously stated in Monday's Journal. Stolen Car Found South of Here A 1951 Plymouth stolen here last Wednesday was reported found last weekend south of here, three of its wheels missing. Police Chief Fred Tesch said the car was taken from a park ing place at Shown's Standard Station on Chicago Avenue but the theft not noted or reported until the weekend because it was thought the car had been legally moved. The car belongs to Chauncey George, an Air Force man. Mr. Niel is undergoing treatment and is getting along fine. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heil were in Louisville Sunday to attend the golden wedding anniversary of their cousins, Mr. and jfMrs. Frank Salsberg. The affair was held at the Methodist Church. Louie Naeve eniered the Meth odist Hospital Friday and is un dergoing observation and treat ment. He is in room 976. Frank Topliff went to St. Mary's Hospital for major sur gery this past week. He was able to return home Sunday, and Is getting along fine and enjoys company. Stuart Williams, one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Williams, has been a patient at Childrens Memorial Hospital in Omaha. He was able to return home Saturday. The little one celebrated his first birthday at the weekend. His father is the band instructor at Plattsmouth High School. Sixty-four were present. The theme was "Home Is Where The Heart Is." Thelma Ketelhut, president, was toastm'.stress. The welcome was given by Nancy Ehlers and the response by her mother, Mrs. Ray Ehlers. A clarinet quartet of Susan Balfour, Nancy Ehlers, Julia Johnson and Glenda Jones play ed. Skits were given using the letters of the word Heart, Hon esty was given by Evelyn Hen derson; Equality by Thelma Ketelhut; Ancestors, Nancy Ehlers; Recreation, Jackie Dod son; Tolerance, Barbara Chand ler. A piano duet was played by Thelma Ketelhut and Mary Lindsey and a song sung by the triple trio. Connie Cook, Bar bara Behrns, Barbara Chandler, Susan Balfour, Nancy Ehlers Jackie Dodson, Carol Oliver and Sandra Stapert, Nancy Switzer. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Duane Everrett, Reverend C. W. Severn, Mrs. James Gilley. Mr. Everrett spoke on Home and School; Rev. Severn on Home and Christianity. The daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter of the home ec teacher, Mrs. Helen Friedll were present as her guests. The banquet was served by the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Helen Friedi, the home ec teacher, broke her right wrist Saturday when she fell on the ice at her home in Lincoln. Sandra Turner, reporter.
