Bell, 76, who was critically Injured In a fall down a flight of stairs at the Henry Thlele homP here 10 days ago, was taken Thursday by ambu lance to Hilltop Rest Home in Weeping Water where he will receive morp specialized care. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hennings celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Dec. 27. Monday evening guests' In the homp of Mr. and Mrs. Victor J. Stoehr and Dorothy Ann were Loren Duever, fiance of Miss Stoehr, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Duever of Marys ville, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Herman L. Mctasen spent the Christmas Holidays in Lincoln visiting their daughter and family, M Sgt. and Mrs. William B. Mayle, Ronald and Douglas. Returning home Monday, they were ac companied by their grandsons, Ronald and Douglas, who will fpend their Christmas school vacation here with their grandparents. Mrs. R. B. Keller went to Kansas City Monday and was a guest of her sister-in-law, Miss Melitta Keller. While there she saw a K-State basketball game. Her nephew is on the team. She returned Tuesday evening. Nancy Hirz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Hirz, is spend ing part of her Christmas vaca tion in Colorado as a guest of Cadet Brett Dula of Bellevue who Is attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She left Monday and will return Jan. 1 to return to the University of Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Egenber gcr spent Christmas day at the home of Mr. Egenberger's sis ter, Mrs. Helen Carter in Omaha. .Fred Miles of York, was a holiday visitor in the city, guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oerald Taylor. Mr. Miles is father of Mrs. Taylor. ' Mrs. James Bulin broke her left wrist Saturday and is a patient at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Edith Vander voort of Burbank, Calif., a dau ghter, has been visiting in the Bulin home since November. Ar riving Friday is another daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Schaefer and son Kurt of Ames. Ia to visit the mother and Mr. Bulin and to snend the holidays with the families here. Rotarians Hear Of Hawaii Trip Ray Herald told fellow Rotary Club members about a trip to Hawaii last fall during the reg ular club meeting Tuesday at the Lions Community Building. Mr. and Mrs. Herald and Mr. and Mrs. John Btrgmann won the trip in a dealer drawing at a trade fair. They flew by jetliner from Des Moines to Honolulu in about seven hours with a stopover at San Francisco. Bergmann showed color slides taken by the two couples. 11 The Staff Of f fOlj I SOENNICHSEN'J Join In Wishing You A ij Happy New Year! ij Sharing the room with Mrs. Buliri at St. Joseph Hospital is Mrs. Harvey Meisinger who fell on her way home from work last week and broke her leg Just above the ankle. , Mr. and Mrs. Ted Akeson of Lincoln were Christmas day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jameson and Mrs. Nettie Hubbard. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gilliam and Vicki were Christmas day guests at Clayton, Iowa, with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cole were hostesses at a Christmas dinner at their home on Christmas Day. Their children and grandchil dren were all present. They are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Chapman and four children of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. George Jacobs and three children and Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Cole and three children of Plattsmouth. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Samuelson and son Charles of Milford. Mrs. Mary Rea who has been a patient at a Falls City Hospital since breaking her hip, was moved today to St. Joseph Hos pital in Omaha. Mrs. Rea will undergo surgery at the Omaha hospital. Rev. and Mrs. A. L. Embree went to Hastings Sunday after noon, where they spent a couple of days in the home of Mr. Em bree's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Bonham. Mrs. Esther Marler, 88, fell and broke her hip and leg and was taken to St. Mary's Hospital In Nebraska City last Friday. She is reported as being in fair condition. Mrs. Marler is the mother of Earl Marler of Platts mouth and Frank Marler of Murray. Christmas Day guests at the Clarence Akeson home were Mr. Russell Menges and Mitchell of Omaha. Monday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Piper, Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Don Akeson and fam ily of Lincoln. Christmas Eve Mr. and Mrs. Lee Piper entertained Mr. and Mrs. Russell Menges and Mit chell, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Todd and children Danny and Amy Lou, all of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Akeson of Plattsmouth. Christmas dinner guests at thP home of Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Miller were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sowards of Valley, Mrs. Mary Buell and H. A. Miller of Ashland and M-Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Gamerdinger. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Boyer of Mason City, la., arrived Satur day night to spend Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fahrlander. Christmas Day the Fahrlanders entertained at dinner. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Fahrlander of Diller, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mougey of Union, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer of Sabetha, Kans., and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Waldrop and Tammie of Plattsmouth. Lynn Fitzgerald, who suffered an injured leg while at his work in the sand pits near thls city, Wednesday morning underwent surgery for the second time at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. The injured leg was not heal ing satisfactory and made necessary the second operation. Sattler Ambulance took Mrs. Walter Sikora to St. Joseph Hos pital Thursday also Marvin Peteriet to St. Catherine's Hos pital Thursday night. Mrs. Jon Black who has been vacationing in California re turned home in time for the holidays and to receive her guests for the holidays. Here visiting are Mrs. Jack Kling and son and George McClana han of Chappaqua, N. Y., and a granddaughter Linda Mc Clanahan of Denver, Colo. The visitors will also spend the holi days with the Robert and Al McClanahan families. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steube and four sons of Grand Island were Christmas Day guests of Mrs. Lucille Gains and Marie Horn here. Mrs. Steube, Mrs. Gaines's daughter, and the children are still visiting here. Mrs. Gaines's son, Robert left Tuesday for his post at Jamesville, Wis., after Christmas here. He is a gunnery sergeant. Caroline Garrison, daughter of Captain and Mrs. G. S. Gar rison, former Plattsmouth resi dents, arrived from Fort Worth, Texas to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fischer and family. 35 SPECIAL!! Featured at the meeting was a closed-circuit broadcast of a speech by Adlai H. Rust, chair man of the board of directors of the State Farm Insurance Com panies. Rust predicted a growing economy for the decade and forecast continued growth in both human and automobile populations and a resulting increase in need for insurance coverages. Included in the audience, esti mated at over 20,000, were agents, managers and other per sonnel of the State Farm Com panies. Production goals for 1961 and the remainder of the 60's were outlined and a special con test for agents was announced. Central Sells S.D. Electric Property Central Electric & Gas Com pany of Lincoln, Nebraska; Northern States Power Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Northwestern Public Service Company of Huron, South Dako ta, have entered into an agree ment for the sale, to Northwes tern and Northern States, all of Central's electrical properties in South Dakota east of the Mis souri River at an undisclosed price. Central will retain its natural gas properties in this area. This sale will include all dis tribution systems, transmission lines, and the generating plants at Chamberlain, Woonsocket, and Salem, South Dakota. Northwestern Public Service will purchase all Central electri cal property west of a line south of Wonnsocket, and Northern States will purchase all Central's electrical properties east of the line. The sale of these properties in South Dakota is in line , with Central's policy of consolidating its holdings into efficient and economically feasible operation al units. Christmas Program At Avoca Church AVOCA (Special) A program was given at the Congregation al Church Christmas Eve. j . The choir sang carols and read the scripture which told the Christmas story and was acted out by members of the Sunday School. Mrs. Henry Smith was at the organ. Program committee was Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Laurence Wulf, Mrs. Lester Heebner. Helping with the little folks, was Kristry Kep ler. Mr. and Mrs. George Allen had their daughter Michelle Renee christened by Rev. Aeschbacker. Jolly Feeders Have Christmas Party The Mynard Jolly Feeders 4-H Club held its Christmas party at Consumers Hall Dec. 17. The families enjoyed a supper together and gabies were led by Rolland Hild and David Kraeger. There was a gift exchange. Stamp Books, Tire Stolen Near Murdock Unknown persons removed a number of green stamp books and tire from a farm residence west of Murdock Sunday, Dec. 18. The residents of the farm, the Dan Nebens, were away for the day when the theft occurred according to the sheriff's office. Car 'Stripped' Members of the 'Inferno Club' of Plattsmouth, a youths auto club, reported to authorities the stripping of one of their cars which was parked near the Cady's Machine Shop in Platts mouth the night of Dec. 23.
