Journal Want Ads Pay Plattsmouth "Psycho" Hailed Creatcst Shocker By Hitchcock A new motion picture produc tion from the master of suspense films, Alfred Hitchcock, is al ways an event of major import ance in the world of theatre entertainment, but judging by the talk already generated by his latest Paramount release, "Psycho," Hitchcock has out done even himself with his new est entry for the shiver-and-shock of Hall of Fame. "Psycho," which opens Sun., Mon., Tues, Dec. 4-5-6 at Cass Theatre, is based on an Inner Sarcfv.m mystery novel and staio Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin and Janet Leigh as Mnrion Crane. Co starred are stage and film star Martin balsam and John Mc Intire. An outstanding support ing cast includes Frank Albert sen, Pat Hitchcock (the pro-duceo-director's daughter), Vaughn Taylor, Lurene Tuttle, John Anderson and Mort Mills. To the universal appeal of every Hitchcock film he added another ingredient an intriglng secrecy which kept even Holly wood agog with interest during production. The original novel by Robert Bloch hit Hitchcock with such impact that he im mediately purchased the screen rights, then embarked cn a cam paign of secrecy and silence surpassing any mystery he has ever put on film. The barest story outline, sup plied by Hitchcock himself, de scribes "Psycho" as the story of a young woman who steals a fortune and encounters a young man too long under the domina tion of his mother. The -mother, to quote Hitchcock, is a "homi cidal maniac." With typical Hitchcock aptness, the electri fying story is laid against the eerie background of an isolated motel and a brooding Victorian mansion. Time: the present. For months, Hitchcock kept even the title secret. If he could have his way he would permit no one to be seated in the thear tre during the last thirty min utes of the film in order not to ruin the effect of the sensational climax. For their full enjoyment of the unusual suspense drama, patrons are urged to see it from the beginning.
