TUT PLATTtlWOIJTH, NTBRACKA, tCMI-WrrKLY JOURNAL PAOE EIGHT Thursday, November 17, 1960 Mrs. Emma Lindsey Dies at St. Louis Mrs. Emma Lindsey, 87, for mer resident of Union, died Tuesday at St. Louis, Mo., where she had lived several years. The body was returned from St. Louis to Lett Funeral Home In Nehawka and will lie in state there until time for graveside services at Mt. Pleasant Ceme tery, Nehawka, Friday at 2 p.m. Mrs. Lindsey was born Sept. 1, 1873, at St. Louis. She was married in Plattsmouth to George Lindsey. He preceded her in death at their home near Union in 1940. Survivors include the follow ing; nieces and nephews: Mrs. Ted Brannon, and Delbert and Carl Lindsey of Union, Ralph Lindsey of Avoca, Jack Lindsey of Nehawka, Mrs. Arthur Bark hurst of Weeping Water, Roy and Arthur Lindsey of Califor nia, Julian McNatt of Wash ington State and Emma Buch anan of New- Mexico, Mrs. Lindsey was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul R. Schmidt will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be Arthur Barkhurst, Ted Brannon and Delbert, Ralph, Jack and Carl Lindsey. Plattsmouth Journal 410 Main Street Mrs. Ludwig Miller Dies at Home In Omaha Tuesday Mrs. Ludwig Miller, 66, 2517 So. 60th Street Omaha, died Tuesday, following a long per iod of failing health. Mrs. Mill er was a member of the pioneer Meisinger family, early settlers in Cass County. She was born February 16, 1894 at the farm home of her Darents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Meisinger in Cass County. She spent her childhood on the farm and in later years in Platts mouth where she received her education in the city schools. She was married on April 26, 1919 to Ludwig Miller, the fam ily having made their home in Omaha since that time. Survivors- are the husband, Ludwig, Omaha; one son, Mat thew Miller of Washington, D. C.; sisters, Miss Laura Meising er, Mrs. Anna Meisinger, Platts mouth. Mrs. Emma Hennings, Taylor, Neb.; brothers, J. E. Meisinger, P. A. Meisinger, Plattsmouth; J. Leonard Mei sineer. Sun City, Ariz.; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19th at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Sat tler Funeral Home in this city, Rev. E. J. Dreyer officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Ceme tery in this city. Cecil Curl Of California Dies Mrs. Jesse Adams received the word of the death of her bro ther, Cecil Curl at Auburn, Calif. Friday evening. He bad been ill since August. He had been a resident of California for many years. He has a son Joe E. Curl and one grandson who live at Son oma, Calif. held 2 o'- Funeral of Albert Stokes Held Wednesday Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon at clock at the chapel of the Cald-well-Linder funeral home, for Albert A. Stokes, long time resi dent of the community. Rev. Joe Barr of the Murray Presbyterian church officiated. Music was by Mrs. Twyla Hodge. Burial was at Oak Hill ceme tery with Roy Clark, Ray Creamer, Donald Green, Ray Herring, Dick Miller and Joe Richter serving as casket bearers. An earthling who landed on either of the two tiny moons Of Mars would weigh less than an ounce because of the low sur face gravity. The slightest jump would send him soaring off into space. Mrs. Elizabeth M. Bilger Dies at Masonic Home Mrs. Elizabeth M. Bilger, 76, died this (Thursday) morning at the Nebraska Masonic Home where she has been a resident for the past four years and five months. Mrs. Bilger died of a heart attack following an illness of the past three years. She was born October 16, 1884 at Montrose, la., daughter of Isaac and Diantha Clasford. She j was married in October 1921 to i Warren M. Bilger, who preceded j her in death September 21, 1957! at the Masonic Home. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ed Sprintel, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Ronald Manly, Denver. Mrs. Bilger made her home in Omaha the greater part of her life. She was admited to the Mas onic Home through John J. Mer cer lodge No. 290 of Omaha A F & A M. Funeral will be Saturday morning at Omaha. Visiting hours were Thursday afternoon at the chapel of the Caldwell-Linder funeral home. Caygill Lodge Lambert Caygill was born Sept 10, 1880, on a farm west of Avoca to Wm. and Re becca Caygill. He died in Elmwood, Nov. 12 at the age of 80. Feb, 22, 1903, he was married to Myrtle B. Waltz. They moved to a farm near Weeping Water. In 1915 they moved to Wabash and in 1918 they moved to Elm wood where he was an active member in the Christian church. In 1939 they moved to Long Beach, Calif., where they lived since. They had five children. He was preceeded in death by his father, mother, and his sister, Mrs. A. H. Waltz, of Ft. Morgan, Colo., and two infants who died at birth. Survivors are his wife, Myr tle; three daughters, Mrs. George Coatman of Elmwood, Mrs. Vernon Schewe of Mur- dock and Mrs. James Melvin of Lucerne Valley, Calif.: a foiter daughter, Mrs. Christine Ma- honey of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Elmwood. Pfc. Mullenax in Marine Exercise COAST OF CALIFORNIA Marine Pfc. Larry E. Mullenax, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kaf fenberger of 1712 Valley St., Plattsmouth, Nebr., is serving with the First Marine Division, Camp Pendelton, Calif., which is participating in a huge amp hibious operation, known as Exercise "Pack Mule", off the coast of Calfiornia. Navy and Marine units total ing 41 ships and 15,000 men are involved in the operation being held from Oct. 26 through Nov. 4. Highlights of the involved op eration include an actual landing by a crack Marine battalion a gainst a' mock-missile instal lation on San Clemente Island; laying and use of an underwater wire telephone system; and the installation and use of special system to facilitate the delivery of fuel directly from tankers to the forces on the beach. In addition to the American submarines, aircraft, under water demolition teams, etc., participating, ships of the Can adian Navy Mine Force are also taking part in Exercise "Pack Mule". Mynard Jolly Feeders The Mynard Jolly Feeders met at the home of Rolland and Rich, ard Hild. The meeting was open ed with the'Flag and 4-H Salutes President' Bob Lochman pre sided over the meeting. Leader Joe Lochman passed out last year's record books. Members chose their projects for the year. It was decided to have a Christmas party Dec. 17 at CPPD. It will be a covered dish supper at 6:30.
