Jeanne Zimmerman of Springfield was elected the ntw Bi-County Or acle. following the school of in structions led by the Supreme and Slate Officers, the meeting was adjourned until 7:30 p.m. The banquet at six o'clock was served by the ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary. The evening session was called to order, followed by the class adoption by Springfield. A memorial service was con ducted by Murdock and Alvo. The retiring march was ex emplified by Louisville. Gets Carrier Job It Is announced at Nebraska City that Jerry Konfrst of this city has been awarded a two year contract as mail carrier on the route between Payne Junc tion, la., and Plattsmouth. Leo Osterholm was a visitor in Glenwood Friday evening to attend a reunion of his high school class. He was a graduate of the class of 1945 and many of the classmates were present to enjoy the reunion held at the Glenwood Legion club. Last Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Schade were Mr. and Mrs. Kapeller and son of Kansas Cty, Kans. They came on a boat to Omaha to starts em ployment there. They stopped here for dinner at the Schade home. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kelly of South Bend were here Fri day to enjoy the day visiting with friends and Mrs. Kelly as sisting at the St. Luke's rum mage sale. Donald Engene Jr. eight week old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. D i e 1 1 is a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha. The infant underwent major surgery Thursday morning and is recovering satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Schade en tertained Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schade and family of Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Giles at dinner at Steinhart Lodge in Nebraska City Sunday. The oc casion was in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schade who were celebrating their, 14th wedding anniversary. BLUEBIRD CLUB NEHAWKA (Special) The Bluebird club voted to contribute to the new entrance gate, which is under construction, at the St. John Cemetery northwest of Ne hawka. Mrs. Art Hansen presided. A new hostess list was made. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Harry Knabe with Mrs. John Dietl co-hostess. Next meeting is with Mrs. Art Hansen with Miss Frances Han sen co-hostess. The latter were obtained by the two Scouts at National Jamboree this year. TOUCH Dean Patton patient at the U. S. Veterans hospital in Oma ha is showing improvement and hopes he will soon be able to be released. He has been at the hospital for several weeks treat ment following his attack by a heart condition while at his work in the BREX shops. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Puis of west of Murray were in the city Thursday to look after some business matters and while here Mr. Puis was a caller at the Journal to renew for the paper. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Speck spent Friday to Sunday at Creighton, Nebr., visiting their daughter and family, the Earl Berglands. 'Dinner guests Sunday at the Art Uhe home were Mrs. Wil liam Koenig and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Nathan of Papillion and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pritchard of Omaha. "Butch" Meisinger of Murray was a Plattsmouth call er Friday. Mr. Meisinger recent ly underwent surgery, and is getting along fine, but will not be able to return to his work for a couple of weeks. Lyle Lee Struble, Jr., two months old, is in critical condi tion at Childrens' Memorial Hospital in Omaha. The little one the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Lee Stmble of this city is ill with pneumonia and is in an oxygen tank at the hospital. A number of Plattsmouth friends are joining in a birth day card shower to C. C. Wes cott, who today is observing his 87 birthday. Mr. Wescott who; was a leading figure in this city for many years, is now a resident of Towsen, Md., with his daughter, Miss Alice Louise Wescott. He retains his recollec tion of life in Plattsmouth with pride and joy.. Mr. and Mrs. Les Sickler and Mrs. Sickler's mother, Mrs. Helen Wallick, from California, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jameson Satur day.
