Juli- 2B. 1960 Tractor Savers' Terrace Building Set for Saturday The Tractor Savers 4-H Club will have Its achievement day Saturday, July 30, and built about 7,500 feet of new terraces on the Otto Petereit farm west and north of here. Annually, the club winds up its year's work with a practical demonstration of soil conserva tion. Besides the terrace-building, the all-day event will include a tractor demonstration by area implement dealers. Terracing will be started early in the morning and last most of the clay. The public is invited. The Petereit farm is six miles west and 2'a north of Highway W. Enjoy delicious top grade meat sizzling with juicy goodness extra flavorful . . . extra tender. Hi ..n1 III f 1111 IJ XI Plattsmouth PTA Representatives At Lincoln Clinic "W h i t e House Conference Proposals was the theme of a clinic held in Lincoln under the joint sponsership of the Univer sity of Nebraska Teachers Col lege and the Nebraska Congress of Parents and Teacher. Following a luncheon Dr. Paul Hanna, Professor of Education at Stanford University spoke on the need for a national com mission on curriculum. A panel made up of seven delegates to the 1960 White House Conference discussed pro posals made by this conference. Included in these delegates were three teenagers who pre sented the recomendatlons of youth concerning problems that should receive attention In the coming decade. Representing Plattsmouth PTA units at the meeting were Mrs. Tom Solomon, Mrs. Carl Tiekot ter, Mrs. Harvey Bruns, Mrs. John Adkins, Mrs. Wayne Green, Mrs. George Toothaker and Capt. George Sarver. John Fauquet To Enter Reserve Training at Wood John. Fauquet, son of Attorney and Mrs. Paul E. Fauquet, and graduate of the class of 1959 of the Plattsmouth high school, is completing his summer school work at the University of Nebr aska today. John is a member of the band of the Nebraska National guard at Lincoln and with the close of the summer school is preparing to attend the reserve army training camp at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where he will re ceive his eight weeks of basic military training. On comple tion of the eight weeks he ex pects to be sent to Fort Ord, Calif., to complete the remaind er of the six months course. John expects to complete his military training in time to re sume his studies at the Univer sity, of Nebraska at the second semester. 2 Land Parcels Are Sold Here Two parcels of land were sold at the Courthouse by Shenti Tom Solomon on a sheriff's sale order. Orval Kahler of Plattsmouth was high bidder on the Platts mouth lots with his bid of $525. The Plattsmouth Building and Loan Association was high bid der on the Nehawka property with their bid of $2,664. Billy Stoehr, 12, Badly Injured in Fall from Horse Billy Stoehr, 12 year old son of Mrs. Lucille Stoehr, was thrown off a horse Wednesday and was severely injured. The lad was riding the horse when he dropped the reins, the horse stepping on the reins which frightened the animal, throwing the boy to the ground. He was taken to Children's Memorial Hospital in Omaha room 201 where he is undergo ing x-rays. He lay unconscious until this morning. It is learned he is suffering from severe head, neck and back injuries. Sheri Cooper Honored Sunday Sheri Cooper celebrat ed her 4th birthday with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cooper.
