June 19, the Dixie Oals Club met at the Park in Elm wood, demonstrations were given by Krista Eveland and Ruth Ann F ischer and by the leader, Mrs. Hernadine Hawk. This was our last meeting. He was pastor here at the EUB Church many years ago. They visited important places and enjoyed the scenery. Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Totman spent the weekend with their son Ned who is in the ROTC and is now at Ft. Riley, Kan., as part of his training. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seiker were dinner guests last Sunday at York at the home of her sis ter, the Aaron Rauths. The Rauths reoort the birth of a granddaughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rauth July 17 at At chinson, Kan. Mrs. Richard Trent of Tuc son. Ariz., and Rosemary' John of Lincoln called on relatives here. Mrs. Trent was on her way to Massachusetts to visit her son Jim and family who announce birth of a daughter July 11. A party was held last Sunday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Buell of Syracuse to observe all the July birth days in the family. Honored were Mrs. Frank Cook of Weep ing Water, Merle Buell, Ronald Lindgren, Chicago, Carolyn Bu ell and Mrs. George Buell. A buffet supper was served. Ronald Lindgren is spending the summer at the home of his uncle and aunt, the George Bornemeiers. He is working at the Farmers Union Elevator here during harvest. His folks, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Lind gren and sister Terry will come for him Aug. 15 and be pre sent to help Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook observe their 50th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Albert E. Norton and three children and Miss Cor dova of El Paso, Tex., arrived July 13 at the home of her par ents for a 10-day visit. They left July 22, going to Falls City from here to visit her brother, Jim Hill and family A picnic supper was held July 21 in honor of Mary Nor ton and family, Margaret Cline and family of Peoria, 111. Jeffrey Joe Habel, 3, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Habel, had the misfortune to get his hand and arm almost to the elbow caught in the washing machine wringer while his mother was washing. His arm is swollen and bruised but no bones were brofc en. Monday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Gakemeier were Mrs. Gake meier's grandsons, Charles and Bill Pankonin of Plattsmouth. Herman Roeber was an evening caller and enjoy ed home made ice cream with the group. Dale Steinkamp entered the Methodist Hospital in Omaha Monday and underwent surgery Tuesday morning. Lillian Stander of Omaha was a caller Monday at the home of Mrs. Anna Rauth. Carol Boxdorfer of Salina, Kans. spent the past ten days visiting Mrs. Martha Neumann and other relatives in Manley. Several spirea bushes at the Earl Puis home are blooming again.' They had bloomed ear lier this year and were recently trimmed. Sunday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pingree were Mrs. Charles Sva jgel and children of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dobbs and children returned home Wednesday from a ten-day vaca tion visiting relatives in Moun tain Grove, Mo., and Buffalo, Iowa. Juanita Wilson of Lincoln spent from Tuesday until Friday with her aunt, Mrs. Olive Wool hiser. On Wednesday the ladies to Omaha and stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Woolhiser. Miss Wilson return ed to her home in Lincoln on Friday and Mrs. Woolhiser re turned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. David W. Webb j left Wednesday for their trip I around the world. They went to j New York where they will takei boat for Europe. The Webbs j have planned their entire route j and will go on their own. Mr. Webb recently retired from Asl Grove Cement Co. Pastor G. O. Kebschull of Chester, Nebraska, who served Immanuel 1930-36, reminded the congregation of the "abun dance of God's Blessings these 60 years, both material and tpiritual," and encouraged it to "continue being a blessing by proclaiming the Unchanging Gospel." A number of friends and for mer members had come from a distance to join in the service. The children of the Sunday School provided' special music. Most of the people remained to share a basket dinner at noon, and to visit and re minisce afterwards. Besides Pastor and Mrs. Kebschull also Pastor and Mrs. R. Staehr, Mc Cook, and Pastor and Mrs. D. F. Luebke, Walton, were present as former pastors of the congrega tion Letters were read also from former pastors: Albert Chol cher, Persia, Iowa; A. L. Kohtz, St. Paul, Nebr., and A. G. Ahl mann, Milwaukee. Of the eight men who founded the congre gation in July 1900, two attend ed the service: Mr. R.C. Wenzel and Mr. Fred Wuli, both of Eagle; Mrs. Fred Wulf also at tended. Another veteran couple, still active in all congregational af fairs, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sch wegmann, transferred to this congregation nearly 55 years ago. The Anniversary Committee in charge of arrangements con sisted of Mr. and Mrs. George Rockenbach; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwegmann, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Wulf. The oldest member of the congregation, Mrs. Anna Head ley of Eagle, 94 July 20, was not quite equal to attending on such a hot day. She did attend the previous Sunday. Mrs. Meese re mained to attend the Methodist i Youth Camp being held there ' this week. Mrs. Livers was an I overnight guest with the Keith Livers family. Bill Rosencrans attended a 40 and 8 Club meeting at Schuyler Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kelly visited Mrs. Harold Petersen of Plattsmouth at the St. Cather ines hospital at Omaha Satur day. Mrs. Petersen is making a good recovery and is expected home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Rusrcll Camp bell and Charles visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Linus Massoth and family in Manley. Mrs. Rolland Hostetter, Karen and Ronnie of Murray and Mrs. . Larry Carnlcle spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. S. F.
