Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Henrik scn near Eagle. H. D. Fischer returned home from the hospital several days ago and is recovering from his several weeks illness and sur gery. James Gump, son of a former Coach and Mrs. Dayle Gump, of Eagle, now of Lincoln, was an overnite guest at the home of Marc and Warren Embree, sons of Supt' and Mrs. Paul Em bree, last Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith of Lincoln and their daughter, Mrs. Sidney Birenberg, of New York City, who is visiting her par ents, were dinner guests, at the home of Mrs. Smith's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Ketelhut, last Sunday. Christ! Ketelhut, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Ketelhut and her cousin Karen Ketelhut, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Ketelhut of Lincoln and Walton. respectively, spent a tew days visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ketelhut, last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Rocken- bach, are grandparents, a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Rockenbach of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. James Nuttle Jr. are new Plattsmouth Journ al subscribers this week. Mr. Nuttle is the Voc. Agr. Instruc tor, elected for the Eagle Schools, this fall and will move to Eagle soon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rudolph of near Malcolm, visited his sis ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Umland Monday after noon. Mr. Rudolph has recov ered from his heart illness very well and able to do some of the tractor work on his farm since returning from the hospital, a few weeks ago. Eagle friends are glad to hear of his recovery. Mrs. Robert Walker under went surgery on Tuesday morn ing and it is hoped, she will soon be on the road to recovery. At this writing is doing very well and hopes to be home in a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hen riksen have sold their property in Lincoln and moved to Water loo, Iowa on last Thursday, where he is employed with the Natural Gas Co. His family re mained in Lincoln, until the property was settled and the children completed their school term. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. sorr yto hear of her death, at the son's home on Wednesday evening at Lincoln. Eagle friends of the Amanda Snavely family of Alvo, were sorry to hear o fher death, at the Nursing home in Ashland. Mrs. Snavely was well known by the Eagle Community. Mrs. Keith Muenchau and 3 sons, returned home Tuesday noon, after enjoying a 5 weeks visit in New Hampshire with her aunt and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Scatter good attended a family "get-together" Tuesday evening, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Irene Christensen, honoring a niece Miss Barbara Scattergood of Denver, Colorado, who is visit ing her relatives a few days. She will return home Saturday with her 2 aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. Harry West. The Mor risons plan to continue on to Oregon to visit their daughter Ruth and family all are lorm erly of Eagle. Mrs. Ruth Hansen, two sons and two daughters of Loomis, Nebr. visited her mother Mrs. Bertha Caddy on Sunday. Mrs. Housen and family also visited other rel atives at Lincoln and Palmyra during the weekend visit. She is an Eagle graduate. The OST Homemakcrs Club members met at Mrs. Robert Browne's home on last Tuesday afternoon. The meeting was call ed to order by the president with seven members present. The lesson pamphlet did not come; thereby, the members visited during the usual lesson period. Following the social hour, de licious refreshments were serv ed by the hostess. Mr. Fred Manners of Lincoln formerly of Eagle was the vic tim of a fall Iran his porch vhi?A u-nrl.-imr nn it in juring his head. On Wednesday, he was much improved. Mrs. Francis Hollordt and Mrs. Ro bert Schlichtemeier drove the group to visit the 4-II garden of Stuart Holfordt, Jesse Jam es, Roger Hay and David Mor ris. Mrs. Robert James served refreshments when members stopped at her home. On July 18 the club took a tour to Omaha with 14 mem bers and four mothers, Mrs. Joe Richter, Mrs. Howard Youn ker, Mrs. Ed Howard and Mrs. Charles Spangler. All had a pic nic at Hanscom Park in Omaha. Thursday, Mrs. Spangler took four of the 4-H members to Weeping Water where they prac ticed judging vegetables. At tending the judging were Den nis Meisinger, Bill and Chris Spangler and Ralph Richter. Larry Rea is in Arkansas for a vlst with his aunt, Mrs. John Burk. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schmadeke and children of Bay City, Ore., were visiting in this vicinity last week. Mrs. Lloyd Lewis was hostess to the Lewiston Women's Club Tuesday. Sunday, Henry Spangler cele brated his birthday by taking a train ride to Omaha. He had dinner there with his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Spangler at their home. Onion Items Mr. L. C. They also atten ded the Sunday dinner at the Rev. and Mrs. Charles Shank lin, pastor of the church. The WSCS met at the church last Thursday afternoon with 16 members and two visitors, Mrs. Jessie Hestir and Mrs. Os car Smith present. Mrs. Carl Cross conducted the prayer service and devotions. Mrs. Martha Exline had the lesson on Leisure in which sev eral of the members had a part in a dialogue on Leisure Time. Mrs. Ivan Balfour, secretary of Soical Relations, read sever1; al facts about the work, taken from The Methodist Woman. Mrs. Cross and Iva Mougey, hostesses, served cooling refreshments-Mrs. Ivan Balfour and Mrs. Todd attended a WCTU meet ing at the Methodist Church in Plattsmouth last Tuesday at ternoon. A special service for White Ribbon Recruits was con ducted by Mrs. Flora Dunning for 10 little boys and girls. Special music by the Water man twins and small sister was enjoyed. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Man ners and family attended the Twin Club picnic dinner at the Capitol Beach Playground at Lincoln Sunday afternoon. The twin daughters, Terry and Jer ry are five years old and are attractive and much alike in appearance and size, as are the twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Halvorsen and family, who also attended the club din ner with daughters Fawn and Dawn, 9 months. The granddau ghters of Mr. Fred Neeman of Eagle were present, 7 month old daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Neeman of Lincoln- Richard Wcyers received his transfer with the airlines from Chicago to Omaha and will re sume his dutcs there Friday. Mrs. Weyers is at Eagle and they plan to reside near O maha. Rudolph Obcrle of Lincoln was honored on his 80th birth day with a dinner at his son's home, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Obcrle and daughter Judy, in Eagle. His grandsons. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Obcrle and family and Mr. and Mrs Dale Oberle and fam ily of Lincoln were also present and he enjoyed the day verj much. He lives at a nursing home in East Lincoln. 1
