The County Superintendent filed the certificate for Free High School Tuition Fund Levy for 265 qualified pupils and cer tified that $127,312.00 Is need ed to pay the high school tui tion. The County Attorney's quar terly report to the Board of County Commissioners was fil ed with the County Clerk. The Sheriff filed his report on Delinquent Distress War rants showing the following results: Collected & remitted to Treasurer $ 13,234.04 Warrants on which pymts. are being made 288.82 Uncollectable 6,111.65 Motion was made by Borne meier and seconded by Nolte that the Bond of William D. City Council Minutes SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL JULY 11, 1960 City Council met in an ad journed session at 7:00 o'clock P.M. having been adjourned from the meeting of June 30tn. Present: Mayor Grant Roberts, Councilmen L. W. Moore, A. W. Huebner, C. W. Rhylander, City Clerk Albert Olson. Absent: Councilman Wm. G. Highfield. Kenneth TIekotter was pre sent as representative of the protestors or the creation or S. S. Dist. No. 19 and submitted figures of the front footage of the property of the objectors, since the figures submitted var ied considerable, with those sub mitted at the June 30th meet ing, motion carried that C. E. Markham be hired to make mea surements and submit these at the next regular meeting. Motion carried meeting ad journ. city council met in special Session as per the call of the Mayor and published notice on July 11, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. with the roiiowing present: Mayor Grant Roberts, Councilmen L. W. Moore, A. W. Huebner, C. W. Rhylander, City Clerk Albert Ol son, Absent: Councilman Wm. G. Highfield. Purpose of the meeting was for opening of bids and tabulat ing of bids, awarding contract and approving contract and bond for the furnishing or labor, tools. material and equipment in con nection with the construction of in S. S. Dist. No. 18 and same for the construction of a sanitary outlet sewer and sewage dis posal plant for the City of Plattsmouth. The following 2 bids were sub mitted for the construction of the sanitary outlet sewer and sewage disposal plant: Anchor construction company of Omaha, Nebr. bidding $103,681.00 Section 1 and Purtzer Si Dutton of Norton, Kansas bidding $181,- 850 on section 2. Motion car ried that the above bids be sub mitted to the Engineer's for re view and recommendation to the Bd. of Public Works. The following bids were re ceived from A-l Plumbing Co. of Lincoln, Nebr., for $936.75 and Paulson Construction Co. of Co. Bluffs, la. for $950.00 for the construction of Sanitary Sewer Dist. No. 18. Motion carried adopting the resolution to ac cept the low bid of A-l Plumb ing Co. Motion carried that the fol lowing Final Estimates for the respective Paving Dists. be paid to the Cornhusker Paving Co. of Omaha, Nebr.: P.D. No. 136 $ 796.95 P.D. No. 137 2,484.94 P.D. Nos. 136, 137, 138, 140, 142, 143, 144 & 145 as completed by Cornhusker Pav ing Co., Omaha, Nebr. Motion carried be approved and accept ed as submitted. Motion carried that the City Council meet in Special Session Aug. 16, 1960 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. as a Board of Adjusting and equalization and notice of same be published for the purpose of adjusting and equal izing of the special assess ments for benefits on ac count of the construction of St. Imp. Dists. Nos. 136, 137, 138. 140, 142, 144 & 145 and for the levying of such assessments. Motion carried that notice be published and date of hear ing be set for Class C liquor license application of Keener Price as July-18, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. Motion carried to accept the recommendation of the Board of Public Works that the City Council accept the low bid of the A-l Plumbing Co. of Lin coln, Nebr. on Part I and Part II of the Water Works Improve ments and Water Main Dist. No. l as per the plans and speci fications of their Engineers. Motion carried that the letter received from Henningson. Special Meeting City Council July 18, 1960 Special meeting of the City Council was held at 7:30 o'clock P.M. as per the call of the Mayor and published notice for the purpose of hearing objections to the application of Keener Price for a Class C liquor license and to transact any other business that may come before the meet ing. The following answered pre sent: Mayor Grant Roberts, Councilmen L. W. Moore, A. W. Huebner, Wm. G. Highfield, C. W. Rhylander, City Clerk Albert Olson. Absent: none. A petition signed by 56, pre viously filed opposing the issu ance of a Class C liquor license to Keener Price was presented. Three objectors were present and spoke in objection to anymore liquor licenses being issued. After discussion it was the re commendation of the License Committee that a resolution be adopted denying the Class C li quor license. Motion carried. Motion carried that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance to amend the present Ordinance to delete one ON & OFF sale beer license therefrom, as there be ing now only one ON & OFF sale beer license.
