M. Muncie accompanied by Mrs. Fred Bourck spent two weeks fishing and vacationiing at the North west Trading Post near Inter national Falls, Canada. They re turned home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Don Warga and Mr. and Mrs. DeForrest Perry are on vacation in Minnesota and Canada. They left Satur day in the Perry's new car. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Welshimer are leaving the city July 27 to make their future home at Mesa, Ariz. They sold their home here to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stoehr. The Welshimers have made Plattsmouth their home for nearly 40 years where they have been in business, and now have leased their business interest here and will retire to live at Mesa. Rickie Rutt of Hastings is visiting . his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Zastera. Seybold at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Plattsmouth, Saturday evening at 8 o'clock with some 40 relatives and friends present. Mrs Wayne Hill of Omaha sister of the groom, was matron of honor and John Furlong of Plattsmouth, a friend of the couple, was best man. A reception was held in the church basement following the wedding. Earlyne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rakes of Nebraska City. She Is a gradu ate of the class of 1960 of Ne braska City High School and is employed with Tidy House Pro ducts Co., Omaha. Bernard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuhns and is a 1958 graduate of Plattsmouth HiQh School. He is employed with Lyman Richie Sand and Gravel Co. The young couple have mov ed to their new home in Omaha. VFW Juniors To 'March In Parades The Junior Unit to the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW held their meeting Wednesday evening at the club rooms. President Karen Porter presided with 18 mem bers present. It was voted to march in the Cass County Fair at Weeping Water and the KKK Carnival. It was also deicded to wear navy blue skirts and white blouses- We are beginning to make joke scrapbooks for children in the hospital. The meeting closed according to ritual with games and re freshments by Donna Porter and Betty Wohlfarth. Juanita Davidson, news reporter. Enjoys Pleasant Outing in Southwest Miss Minnie Guthmann has returned from a very pleasant summer vacation that covered from the lakes and farms of Wisconsin to one of the United States' oldest settlements, Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was accompanied by Mrs. Henry Guthmann of Boise, Ida., on the outing and joined by Frank Guthmann, of the Valley National bank of Tucson, Ariz., I nephew of the ladies, who has been attending banker's meet ing at Chicago. They drove I through to Santa Fe, where Henry Guthmann. is one of the prominent attorney's of north ern New Mexico. They found Santa Fe a won derful and historic spot, many of the business houses having signs of their establishment hundreds of years ago in Span ish and Mexican control. One stated it was established in 1607, long before the Pilgrims came to New England. Another business place was established in 1740. After a visit in Santa Fe Frank Guthmann continued on to Tucson and the ladies re turned by train to Nebraska, finding travel very heavy. They were met at Omaha by Mrs. Louis Ward Egenberger and Miss Laura Meisinger. Circle Meetings In Church Parlors Circles 2 and 3 of St. Paul's Church met Tuesday evening, July 19, at the church. Devotions were held jointly under the leadership of Mrs. Mike Kaffenberger. Mrs- Fred Kaffenberger, chairman, con ducted the business for Circle 2. The August meeting will be a covered dish 6:30 supper Aug. 16 at the church. Mrs. Victor Meisinger drew the door prize. There were eight members and Rev. Sey bold present. Mrs. Earl Marler, chairman, conducted Circle 3 business. The August meeting will be in the form of a. picnic for mem bers and their families at the church basement on Wednes day, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p. m. Circle 3 will be hostess to a Coffee Social at the church on Thursday, July 28, with the fol lowing hostesses: Miss Emma Hirz, Miss Elizabeth Hirz, Mrs. Mabel Engelkemier, Mrs Joe Loper, Mrs. George Kaffenber ger, Mrs. Earl Marler and Mrs. Edgar Meisinger. Mrs. Edgar Meisinger drew the door prize. There were 16 members present Traveling bingo was played and prizes awarded. Refreshments were served by Circle 2 ho;;tesses Mrs. Ben Speck, Mrs. Donald Beins and Mrs. Harry Knabe and Circle 3 hostesses Mrs. Don Born, Mrs. George Born and Mrs. Jon Schuetz. Mrs. Leonard Hermann Wedding in Manley WEEPING WATER (Special) Miss Janice Sheehan, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shee nan became the bride of Leo nard Hermann, son ot Mrs. Ethel Hermann of Weeping Water, July 2 at 10 a.m. at the St. Patricks Catholic Cnurch in Manley. Father Garient officiat ed at the double ring ceremony. Tne bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a white oallerina length gown of white nylon lace over taffeta with fall eibow length sleeves and roun ded neckline. Her douule tiered illusion veil was held by a crown ol seed pearls and Irridescent sequins. She carried an arrange ment of white carnations, cen tered on a prayerbook. Mrs. William Sheehan, sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor. She chose a pink ballerina length gown and wore a white carnation corsage. U. G. Stoner, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, ot Columbia, Mo. was best man. Danny Sheehan and Larry Knott of Weeping Water were ushers. Mrs. Reginald Colbert played the wedding music. Mrs. Kussell Campbell an aunt of the bride, sang. The bride's mother wore a light pink dress with white acc essories. Both wore white car nation corsages. Immediately following the wedding a reception was held'in, the Manley Parish Hall. Mrs. I James Wade and Betty Hermann cut the wedding cake. Mrs U. G. Stoner of Columbia, Mo. served the ice cream; Shirley Sheehan served th coffee and Mrs. Vern Harter served the punch Mr. and Mrs. Hermann are graduates of the Weeping Water high school. He is employed at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Program in Weeping Water. They are making their home in Weeping Water at the Willis Lorensen rental house. Christian Church Missionary Meets The WCF Missionary of the Christian Church met at the church Tuesday for the July meeting. Nine ladies were pres ent. Mrs. Taenzler, chairman, con ducted the business of the meeting. Mrs. Thomason had devotions and also was in charge of the program. The Missionary welcomes new members. Mrs. Thomason was hostess and served salad and ice tea for refreshments. Camp Fire News Mrs. June Young's Camp Fire Group with their mothers met July 15 at the Young home. Officers were elected as fol lows: President, Jeanie Young; vice president, Linda South; secretary, Vicki Cole; trea surer, Karen Eaton and scribe, Ginny Lebens. Ne-Top-plu is the Camp Fire name selected by the group. Son Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor of Englewood, Calif., are parents of a son born June 7, weighing 7'2 lbs. He has been named Douglas Kent. Grandmother is Mrs. Iva Hosfill of Inglewood, Calif. Son Steven Ronald arrived at 2:47 p.m. July 13 to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Duane R. Kaffenberger of 5918 Graywood St., Lakewood, Calif. Weight 7 lbs. 10 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Oliver DeRum of 2923 Candlewood St. and Mr. and Mrs. John B. Kaffenberger of 2834 Candlewood St., Lake wood, Calif. Duane and his parents are former residents of Plattsmouth community. FBI RMS St. Paul's Guild Circle One Meets Circle One of St. Paul's Ev angelical and Reformed Church Guild met at the church July 19 with 20 members and one visitor present. Hostesses were Mrs Hulda Weidman, Mrs. Paula Barker, Mrs. Louis Naeve and Mrs. El la Halmes. The meeting was presided ov er by the co-chairman, Mrs. Ot to Pitz, In the absence of Mrs. Wm. Ofe. Mrs. P. A. Meisinger gave the devotional with Mrs. Leonard Born reading the scrip ture. Door prize was won by Mrs. Clara Fornoff. First prize went to Mrs. Carl Kraeger and se cond to Mrs. Orville Mullcr. The August meeting will be a covered dish picnic dinner at the church at 1 o'clock with no hostesses. Story Hour Readers for the 2:30 to 3:30 Story Hour next week at the Library will be: Monday, Mrs. Ben Albin; Wednesday, Mrs. Claude Crace; Friday, Mrs. George Sarver.
