The furniture sales of Mrs. Harbara Sehwegman'.s and Carl Oberle's were held at their re spretive residences Monday af ternoon, with a large crowd at tending. Robert Walker and son-in-law Richard Weyers of Chicago fished up near Niobrara last weekend. Dick is on a two-week vacation. Steven Markhani, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Markham of Fairbury visited his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Halvorsen and family, last week. Vicki Halvorsen visited at the Markham home during the week. Steven also visited his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Schwarz at Lincoln, re turning to his home with the lr'ter on Saturday. Vicki re turned home Sunday. Mrs. Clinton Westlake, Lee and Clinola attended funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ers kine in Lincoln, Friday after noon. The Clinton Westlake family also attended funeral .services for Robert Reed in Lin coln on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Fred Muenchau was re ported slowly improving at the hospital where she has been for several days. They hoped she would be able to return home the last of the week. The "Barber Shop Quartette" sang at the Cornhusker Hotel for the Nebraska School Cooks Association banquet Wednesday evening. Messers Harold Wall and his father, Ray Wall, visited the later's brother, Voyal Wall, at Le Mars, Iowa and Mrs. Voyal Wall at the Winterset Madison County Memorial Hospital near Lt Mars. She was critically ill. She is a former Eagle graduate and the Voyal Wall family re- I sided near Eagle before moving ! out-of-state. The basement has been com pleted for the construction of the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Root on their lots in northeast section of Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Muen chau and 2 daughters, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Her man Meyers near Staplehurst last Sunday. Mines Hazel Porter and Eva Scattergood visited their aunt, Berth Miller at the Rest Haven Nursing home at Weeping Water on Thursday. Mrs. Lutjmeier, mother of Mrs. Anna Folken and her daughter have been making regular visits to a doctor at Lin coln clinic for Mrs. Lutjmeier's foot treatment and at this time it is much improved. Capt. and Mrs. Chas Nuschkt and three sons returned home last Sunday after a three weeks trip to the East Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rocken bach called at the home of his uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hod twalker at Bennet last Monday evening. Several Eagie persons attend ed funeral services for Mrs. Sop hia Burge, 80, at Trinity Luth eran church near Walton Wed nesday. Mrs. Burge was a sister of Messers Fred and August Sch wegman. She had been a resi dent of Lancaster County all her life. Friends of Mrs. Mary Kaatz, 77, Lincoln, formerly of Eagle, were sorry to hear of her death Sunday at Lincoln. Funeral was Wednesday. She was born in Culver. Kansas, in 1893. While living at Eagle, the late Mr. Kaatz was the Missouri Pacific Depot Agent and their daugh ter married an Eagle man, Lloyd Oberle (the latter now resides in Lincoln,) Mrs. Kaatz had been employed at University of Nebr aska Student Union for 10 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Lincoln. Mmes. Reinhart wasj custodian for more than 30' years. He saw many old friends, i Women's Fellowship Women's Fellowship of the Congregational Church met with Mrs. J. E. Aeschbacher and Mrs. Ella Wulf- After a short business meeting, all were in vited to the birthday table spon sored by the Missionary Com mittee. Mrs. Brendel led the devotions. The table was dec orated with vases of roses and miniature vases of flowers and swans. A cup cake and candle was at each plate and a sail boat. Favors were plastic doi lies. Guests were Mrs. Merton Norris and Cathy and Mrs. Jerry Pointer. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Rippe and children of McPherson, Kan., were guests at the John Rippe and John Lingle Sr. hom es over the weekend. Mrs. Louis Ruhge and Mrs. Mickle attended a lunch work shop at the Cornhusker Hotel, Lincoln, two days last week. They were present at demon strations at Consumers Public Power Co. and Peglers Food. Allen Hennings who visited here several weeks went home to Fremont Sunday. There, he fell out of a swing and broke a bone in the wrist. It was plac ed in a cast.
