Mrs. Harry Porter; chap lain, Mrs. Lucille Gaines; ser-geant-at-arms, Mrs. James Pitt man; color bearer, Mrs. Jam es Drennen. Executive committee: Mrs. Lloyd Fitch, 2 years; and Mrs. Eugene Vroman and Mrs. John Schutz, each one year. The newly elected officers were Installed by Mrs. Sophia Wolever who also presented the past president's pin to Mrs. Fitch. Mrs. Fitch presented Mrs. Wolever a gift as installing of ficer in behalf of the Auxiliary. Mrs. Fitch presented all her of ficers and chairmen with a gift. She expressed her thanks to all the members for their co operation and help in the past year and said she had enjoyed being president. New president Mildred Hall asked for cooperation of all the members and thanked them for electing her president The chaplain read the Pray er for Peace and the colors were retired. Mrs. Harry Porter won the door prize. Refreshments were served by the committee, Mines. Glen Mc Clure, Oliver Schiber, A. C. Mc Lean, Raymond Larson, Clar ence Fulton, Arnold Buechler and Roy Cavender. The American Legion Auxil iary to the Hush J. Kearns Post No. 56 held its regular meeting June 23 in the 40 and 8 Club Rooms. President Mrs. Lloyd Fitch presided. Membership report showed Hit members enrolled for I960. This exceeds the quota by 19 members and is the largest membership enrolled for sever al years. The president introduced and welcomed Mrs. Max Penna baker as a new member and Mrs. Grace Deles Dernier as a guest. Mrs. Oliver Schiber gave the annual rehabilitation report, it being announced that the Platts mouth unit would sponsor a party at the Veterans Hospital Aug. 24. This will be a birthday party for all the veterans in the hospital having a birthday that month. Communications were read and acted upon. A request was read asking for a representative of the Auxiliary to attend a meeting of the Cloodmobile rep resentatives June 24. Mrs. So phia Wolever volunteered to at tend . Thank-you notes were read frptn Mary Nelson, Sophia Wol ever and Mrs. Ethel Strabel. Sandra Spangler, who was chosen by the Auxiliary to at tend Girls State, sent a note of thanks for the opportunity the Auxiliary had given her to at tend. She will report on her experiences at a later Auxiliary meeting. Mrs Fitch thanked the mem bers for helping prepare the crosses for the veterans graves for Memorial Day, also lor their assistance at the services at the cemetery. Members voted to buy a book to be used for the "Book of Prayers." .The picture of Mollie Gobel man presenting the Books of Auxiliary Star papers will be sent to the Department to be printed in the Department Star. An impressive ''Draping of the Charter" ceremony was giv en by Mrs. Fitch and Mrs. Har ry Porter, chaplain, for Flor ence Pcrsifiger, an Auxiliary member who died recently. An Auxiliary marker will be placed on her grave. ZThc nominating committee submitted the following names for election of officers, and they were elected: "President, Miss Mildred Hall; 1st vice president, Mrs. Clar ence Akeson: 2nd vice president, Airs. John Kalasek; secretary, Mrs. Charles E. Ault; treasur- Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nave Entertain The home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Naeve in this city has been the scene of a pleasant gathering o f relatives and friends for the past few days Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Naeve and Freddie and Lisa Ann from Cincinnati, Ohio, were here to enjoy the class of 1940 reunion and remained for a visit with the parents and old friends. Later, Mrs. Van Gundy and Mrs. Joe Reyes of Oakland. Calif., arrived for a visit- Mrs Reyes is the former Ruth Wright of this city. Carlsons Are Hosts To Out Of Town Relatives Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Carlson of the Plattsmouth Hotel en joyed a visit with relatives over the weekend. j Here were Mrs. Ida Matley, of McAllen, Tex; Mrs. Ella1 Wyatt, Mrs. Flora Cummins and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black-: burn, all of Sarcoxie, Mo. ' Mrs. Matley took a plane from San Antonio, Tex., and joined the three sisters and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blackburn at Sarcoxie. Mr. Blackburn then motored them to Plattsmouth. Mrs. Carlson is still some what disabled from her acci dent. The four sisters prepared lovely meals and after an en joyable weekend the visitors left for their homes Monday morning. Janice McGraw Is Bride Of Robert J. Pohlmeier Church Croup Enjoy Lawn Party The young people .of the First Baptist Church .enjoyed a lawn party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen McClure' Friday evening. Chuck Edwards from the Om aha Baptist Bible College was in charge of the group and en tertainment. Homemade ice cream and cookies were served by the committee. Students of Mrs. Meisinger Present Recital A recital presented Saturday night, June 18 at the Lions Building by students of Mrs. Arnold Meisinger was well at tended. Piano solos were played by Vicki Lynn Molck, Stephen and Joyce Fornoff, Mary Ann Lock man and Linda Jones. Accordion solos and group numbers by the "Five Lads and a Lass", "Melody Makers", the Happy Harmony Band" and a tuba solo by Kenny Meising er made up the remainder of the entertainment. Local accordion students were Dennis Meisinger, Ralph Rich ter, John Aschenbrenner, Angelo Holman, John Carneal, Larry Jones, Linda Herre, Judy Cur tis, Sandra Stapert, Patty and Sandy Toman. Omaha students were Mari kay Policello, Sandra Goodman, Linda Watters, Carol Peterson, Linda Hayes, Linda Johnson, Benny Wollberg, Bobby Ulip, Donald Noble, John Sothmann, Ken Bremer and Deldon Ham ann. Ladies Toggery 1st Door East Of Plattsmouth State Bank Janice Geneva McGraw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff ord McGraw of Plattsmouth, and Robert Joseph Pohlmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pohlmeier of Plattsmouth, were wed in a double-ring ceremony June 4 at Holy Rosary Ca tholic Church. ", The Rev. Fr. Walter Banach performed the nuptial mass. , The altar was decorated with baskets of white gladioli and carnations. Mrs. Dale Jackson was organ ist and Mrs. Robert Schryne makers, soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her lather, wore"" a floor length gown of misty nylon tuile over taifeta and chantilly lace. The fitted bodice was finished with a round scalloped neck line and long tapered and point ed lace sleeves. Intricate draping finished the back of the full skirt which fell into an aisle wide train. Her tiered illusion fingertip veil was caught with a crown of pearls and sequins and she wore pearl earrings, a gift of the groom. She carried a star burst bouquet of pink delight roses and white stephanotis. The maid of honor, Miss Una Eraas, Plattsmouth, wore a ! sapphire blue sheath of chiffon 1 with a cummerbund of satin trimmed with self fabric roses accenting the back streamers and a sapphire blue headpiece i with matching veil. She carried ' a cascade of pink carnations. Mrs. Connie Anderson, ma 1 tron of honor, and Miss Shirlee Gerbeling and Miss Sharon Mil ler, bridesmaids, all of Platts mouth, were gowned like the maid of honor. They carried , cascades of white carnations. Ronald Pohlmeier, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. I Groomsmen were Gary Morris, Plattsmouth, Gary Horan, Om aha, and Van Dudley, Omaha. ' Ushers were Darrell Yenney and David Anderson of Platts - mouth. 1 The bride's mother chose a rose lace dress with white ac cessories and wore a white car nation corsage. Riverview Club Plans Picnic A July picnic was planned by members of the Riverview Club. This was a main item of business at the home of Velma Kuhns during the June meet ing. The meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer. Each member answered roll call by telling her birth place. The July family picnic Is to be at Mrs Georgia Creamer's home the evening of July 17. Members are to bring a cov ered dish and hot dogs enough for her family to roast. Ice cream and drinks are to be furnished by the club. June business meeting was adjourned by reminding mem bers next business meeting will be in August. After afternoon entertain -ment, lunch was served by Velma Kuhns and co-hostess Rose Hull reporter, Mrs. Ed Morris. Elaine Brockhoff, Kenneth Hild Wed at Avoca Lutheran Church Supper In Country Honors Visitor Mr. and Mrs. William T. Starkjohn entertained at a cook out supper at their country home on Sunday evening. The occasion honored Mrs. S. W. Stefan from Denver who was a weekend guest at their home. Present for the supper were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weiss and Jimmy of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Starkjohn, Karen and Bill, Irene Meisinger and the guest of honor. The Denver guest is a sister of Mrs. Henry Starkjohn. She departed Sunday evening to visit her son, Commander Karl Stefan and family in Rosemount, Minn. AVOCA tSpecial) The mar-. riage of Miss Elaine BrocKnon and Kenneth Hild was solom nized at First Lutheran Church June 16 In a double-ring cere mony. Rev. Luther Sherer offic iated. Mrs. Maynard Kuening was at the organ and Miss Paula Ludwlg was soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of hand clipped chantilly lace and tulle. Natural scallops of the gown traced with iridescent se quins and pearls framed the lace basque waist. The gown was designed with long sleeves. The bouffant skirt of lace featured an inset of tulle with pearl and sequin-emobroideried lace applique and a brief scal loped back peplum above the cascade of alternating ruffles of lace and tulle. A plateau of pearl trimmed lace held her veil of silk illusion and she carried a cascade bouquet of white roses. Mrs. Harvey Brockhoff, sister-in-law of the bride, was ma tron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Marie Hespen and Mar ilyn Kressely. Harvey Brockhoff, brother of the bride was best man and Leo Bradford, Lincoln, Wesley Bradford and Wesley Damme of Cook were groomsmen. Linda Fallers, Kay Bassett were candlelighters. Ricky Lynn Brockhoff, ringbearer and Joni Bradford, flowergirl. Seating the guests were Ralph Brockhoff, Elmwood, Henry Kirchhoff Jr. of Otoe, Glenn Floerke of Lincoln and Roger Weber of Cook. Mrs. Merle Sorensen had the guest book. The reception was held in the church. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brockhoff of Avoca and parents of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs.lLirry Hild, Cook. The bride is a iaduate of Avoca High School and has been employed in the State Depart ment of Health, Lincoln. The groom is a graduate of Cook High School and is farming. The couple is at home on a farm near Cook. Visitors Honored At Card Party Mr- and Mrs. Clarence Cuth rell were hosts Tuesday eve ning at their home honoring out-of-town friends who are visiting in the city with relatives. The party honored Mr. and Mrs. Ben McCarty of Redding, Calif., who with their daughter Sally are here visiting; as well as Mrs. J. C. Miller of Highland, Ind., visiting in. the city with her two children Jack and Gloria at the home of the ladies' par ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. John son. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs- Don Cotner and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rhylander of Plattsmouth. The evening was spent play ing bridge and visiting. Later refreshments were served. Mrs. Miller and children left Wednesday morning by train for their home and the McCartys are to make their departure this week for their home. Members of the Cadwell family gathered to honor Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kerns and Patricia Ann of San Diego, Calif. Those attending were Mrs. Ida Cadwell, Larry Cadwell, Mr. and Mrs. DeForest Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Don Warga of Plattsmouth and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Cadwell and family of Bellevue. Also, Mrs. Robert James, Mrs. Betty Scharp, Bernie Zamm, Mrs. J. R. Eaton and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert James Jr. and family, all of Nebraska City and Mr. and Mrs Kerns and Patricia. The Kerns family departed for San Diego Monday noon. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a blue lace dress with white accessories and wore a pink carnation corsage. Blue and white peonies dec orated the bridal table for the reception immediately follow ing the ceremony. Miss Judy McGraw, sister of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Those assisting at the recep tion were Mrs. Barbara Mc Graw, Plattsmouth who cut and served the cake; Linda McGraw and Judy Belvin, Plattsmouth, who poured punch;" and Mrs. Joe Eraas, Mrs. Violet Mc Graw and Mrs. Clara Price. Miss Marilyn Hendricks .Pia'tts mouth, and Cheryl McGraw, Plattsmouth, had charge of the gifts. The bride is a graduate of the Class of 1958 at Plattsmouth High and the bridegroom is a 1957 graduate of Plattsmouth High and is employed with Western Electric at Millard. After a trip to the Ozarks and the Gulf of Mexico, the couple has made their home in Platts mouth at 109-8th Ave. Cass County Canners Have Annual Luncheon The annual 4-H Luncheon of the Cass County Canners was held at the Nehawka home of Evelyn Wolph June 25. Honored guests were the Meadow Grove and Sheldon Store Award Committee, Mrs. Martha West, the County Ex tension Home Agent, and Rev. C. F. Weideman. Sandra Stapert presented the opening devotions. Joyce Fornoff announced the program. Cheryl Pollard led the Flag Salute and Sandra Stapert led the 4-H Pledge. After the luncheon, the fol lowing musical numbers were presented: piano duet by Thel ma Ketelhut and Mary Lindsey and individual piano numbers by Cheryl Pollard, Julie Mitch ell, Bernice Garrett and Joyce Fornoff. Various interesting reports were given by the members. Jacqueline Dodson and Thel ma Ketelhut reported on 4-H Club Week. Junior Leader Train ing Camp was described by Sandra Stapert and Thelma Ket elhut. Sandra Stapert told about Conservation Camp. Jacqueline Dodson gave a report on FHA Officers Workshop.
