The program consisted of local talent. 1 Dorcas Society of Christian church met Friday with Mrs. Norma McNurlin as hostess. Mrs. Alice Osburn gave devotions. The society is to have a auction sale Friday June 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fred Etlradge house. Public Invited. Mrs. Frank Hurlbut Is spend ing a few days visiting relatives in Kansas City. Kenny Stewart underwent an emergency appendicitis opera tion Thursday evening at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lin coln. He returned home Mon day. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bollen of Lincoln spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Radenslaben and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Boiler. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Barber and family visited me David Barber family of Lincoln Sun day evening. mrs. oeuige Carter went to Lincoln Thursday and spent the night with her daughter Miram Carter. Methodist seventh and eighth graders are washing cars this week and next for the purpose of sending their members to summer camps. Mrs. George Rouse and Mrs. Mildred Comstock attended commencement at Ceresco high school Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bus bloom of Lincoln were Memorial day guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and family. The Rev. and Mrs. B. F. Par nell, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Steven Stander spent Monday afternoon with Marvin Sowards. Marvin and Joanne Sowards are enrolled in the Bible school at the Congregational church, beginning this week. Evelyn Jones graduated , from the Murdock high school in the class of 1960, at that school Monday evening May 23. After the commencement services a little family gathering was held in her honor at the home of her erandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. C. McCrorv in Murdock. Those present with the honored one were Mrs. Clinton Jones, Dick aid Mariorie. Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward McCrory and family also Mr. and Mrs. ftofman Yardley of Stapelton. Ice cream and cpke was served. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Odell be came great grandparents May ?6. A daughter Lori Linde was born to their grandson, Mr, and Mrs. James Odell of Omaha. The little Miss weighed 7 lbs. and 1 oz. Mrs. Ben Sandy and daugh ters and Mrs. Jerry Hoeft of David City, and Orville Sandy of Greenwood were Memorial Day iruests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson. Eighth grade graduation ex ercises were held at the Mur dock school Monday evening in conjunction with the high school commencement, those from South Ashland complet ing the eighth grade were Bob by Long, Ronnie Schmidt and Carl Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Long were hosts to a group that eve nine; honoring their son Bobby and Carl Jones, others there were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schol Mng and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Sturzenegeer of Gretna and Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and family. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stock, Douglas and Bruce and The Rev. and Mrs. Matzke were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stock in Murdock. Bruce Stock enrolled at Bible school at the EUB church in Murdock Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John B. Peter son were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parkes and family. Mrs. Dewey Moore and Dewey W. attended a covered dish din ner at the Fred Rueter home in Alvo Sunday, held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brannan and family and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Brannan of Lincoln. The two families will soon be sent to a new Air Base near Deroit, Michigan.
