Joseph Przudziek, pastor of the church officiated at the 10 a.m. ceremony in the pres ence of the immediate family and a few guests. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother-in-law Merle Dean Meisinger wore a Family Reunion Held at Home Of C. M. Green A Family Reunion was held at the C. M. Green home last Sunday. Ronald Dietl, twin brother of the groom served as best man. Arnold Otte of Omaha was uah er. Mrs. Dietl attended Platts mouth high school. Mr. Dietl is a graduate of Plattsmduth high school and is employed in Ral ston. They are making, their home in Plattsmouth. Volkarts Care for Grandchildren Here , Mr. and Mrs. Victor Volkart, Jr. of Wahoo and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richter and son Randy of Council Bluffs just returned from 2 weeks vacation in Calif. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson at La Punte, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Meeker of Santa Maria. They visited Disneyland, Hol lywood and Tijuana, Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Volkart Sr. of Plattsmouth kept three grandchildren while their par ents were on their 2 weeks vaca tion. H. A. She is the daughter of Mrs. Katherine Baumgart of Plattsmouth. The couple lives here. Women's Editor In Hospital Mrs. Perry (Margaret Ann) Dingman is in Room 132 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Omaha, where she had surgery Wednes day. She is reported doing nicely. Mrs. Dingman is women's ed itor of The Journal. Gamma Chapter Plans for Year Tau Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Society honorary teach ers society, met at Fourteenth Street Schpol at Nebraska City Wednesday to plan for the com ing year. Sara Jane Whitten, president, gave the gavel' to Mrs. Harriett Anville, incoming president. Both are teachers in the Nebr aska City schools. Hild Picnic Dinner Honors Birthdays Sunday, a picnic dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hild honoring the birthdays of Dixie Burk, Sharon Porter, Mrs. Wm. Jolly Feeders Meet At Vinduska Home The Mynard Jolly Feeders met at the home of Marilyn Vindus ka. Marilyn Vinduska gave a demonstration on "The Proper Way of Giving a Formal Demonstration." After the meeting, Mr. Loch man named different demon strations the members could give at the Fair. Carolyn Vinduska showed slides of the trip she won to Cheyenne County. It was spon sored by the Murray State Bank. Marilyn and her mother serv ed lunch. Next meeting will be held at Terry Wiles' June 7, Mary Lochman, reporter. The Robertson family were residents here for many years and where Mr. Rob ertson served as district judge and Mrs. Robertson a leader in social and educational affairs. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sikora and daughter Debbie of Chicago were here over Decoration day, guests at the Philip Hirz and Sikora homes. Mr. and Mrs. George M. Hall and Carl Hall of this city were at Falls City Saturday and gu ests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Groff, formerly Gladys Hall of this city. Lt. Jg. Tom Conis is leaving this week for Bremerton, Wash., where, he reports at the naval station for assignment. He is expecting to be sent on a cruise for several weeks. The family will remain here while Tom is on the cruise. Mr. and Mrs. Harry L, King of St. Louis were here over the Decoration day holiday visiting with relatives and old friends. They are guests of Mrs. Otto Lutz at the Henry Lutz home. Mrs. King is the former Helen Lutz. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Merrigan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Merrigan is a sister of Mrs. Lee. Mr. ,and Mrs. Glen Hewitt of Omaha were here for Decora tion day, guests of Mrs. Minnie Guthmann "as well as old friends. Mrs. L. S. Pucelik and son, Robert, of Lincoln were here Memorial day for a short visit while enroute to Omaha. Rob ert is a recent graduate of Pius X school at Lincoln and while here was a guest of David Cap pell. Mr. and Mrs. George Bates of Weeping Water were here Mon day for the Memorial day ex ercises and visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. Joe Hooper of Omaha was here Tuesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carmack. She is a niece of Mr. Carmack and en joyed the day with Mrs. Car mack, just recently returned home from the hospital. Mrs. Anna Stoll was hostess to a number of relatives and friends over the Memorial week end holiday. From Omaha were Mrs. Leland Briggs, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Creamer and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Stoll. Other callers were Mrs. F. I. Rea of Falls City and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lovell of Greenwood. Mrs. Fred Trilety departed for her home in Cincinnati, O., after spending three weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Wiles at Mynard. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rieke and son Roderick arrived by train Saturday morning from their home in North Platte to visit their parents, brothers and sisters and other relatives: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Albin, Mr. and Mrs. George Rieke, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Albin and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tincher and family. The Riekes recently moved to North Platte from Plattsmouth. They went home Monday. Mrs. August Gall returned home from an Omaha hospital early this week. She had been hospitalized since being injured when her car was struck by ano ther car as she drove toward Plattsmouth from Omaha. Mrs. Thelma Baker of the Style Shop Beauty salon, suf fered an allergic attack to a penicillin shot last evening while at her work. Medical as sistance was called and the pat lent taken by the Caldwell-Lind-er ambulance to the St. Joseph hospital at Omaha. She is now out of danger and will suffer no ill effects from the attack. Mrs. Alice Pollock Perry leav es Friday for Rockford, 111., where she Is attending com mencement exercises of Rock ford college. Mrs. Perry was a member of the class of 1925. She will also visit at Glen Ellyn, 111., guest of her niece, Mrs. Eleanor Minor Wright and family. - I TOUCH Mrs. Florence Turpln of Oma ha ahd Mrs. Mary Harriman of Council Bluffs were here over Memorial day visiting with rel- atives and old friends. Mrs. Katherine Allen and Mrs. Fern .Hendricks of Omaha at tended the Cornerstone cere mony at 'the Historical Museum here Sunday afternoon, then called on Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hendricks and Marilyn before returning to Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pearsley of Leavenworth, Kan., visited Saturday night and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Rihn here and stopped to see relatives and friends at Union on their way home. Mrs. Addie Amen and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Amen of Lincoln were here for Memorial day. Mrs. Amen is the former Addie Grav es, daugher of the late A. J. Graves and wife who are buried at Oak Hill.. Mrs. Stella Quinnett has re turned home from several weeks spent in Illinois, with her son, Captain James Quinnett and family at Park Forest. Captain Quinnett and family met the mother at Joliet and then on to Forest Park. Captain Quinnett is stationed at Fifth Army head quarters at Chicago where he has been the past three years. Mr. and Mrs. Dean French and son, Billy of Burbank, Calif., ar rived here Sunday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ptak, parents of Mrs. French and other relatives. This is the first visit of Dean here since lo cating in California and the fam ily is busy in visiting ' with old school friends. Mr. and Mrs. Clarance Peter sen and family and Miss Laura Slatinsky of Richfield were here over the holiday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Slatinsky. Mrs. R. A. Troop entertained a number of relatives over the Memorial day holiday, among them her brother, Victor Sher wood of Omaha, Jack Sherwood, another brother, and wife of Nebraska City and Dr. and Mrs. Reinhardt and daughter, Jane of Atlantic, la. Miss Jane is a grad uate this week of Creighton University and is entering St. Joseph hospital to take, up her work as technician. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Sch midtmann returned last evening from Columbus, O., where they have been visiting at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Dunn. Mrs. Schmidtmann has spent a month there with the family and new grandson, John Reed Dunn, while Mr. Schmidtmann has been there for the past few days. They found the family in fine shape. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hickman and daughter of Denver, Colo, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ball inger and family of Chapman were here over the weekend visiting at the home of Nellie Moore and relatives. They are Mrs. Moore's daughters; Mrs. Ethel Jensen and daugh ter Mary Lovsted of Omaha were here Decoration Day at the home of Mrs. Nellie Moore. Also visiting was Mrs. Delta Freel, sister of Mrs. Moore of Omaha. Roger Roberts Has Serious Accident On Motor Bike Roger Roberts, 14, son of Mayor and Mrs. Grant Roberts, was victim of an unusual and very painful accident on Satur day. He was riding out to the home of his grandparents near Mynard on his motor bike when suddenly the front wheel of the machine collapsed and threw Roger some fifty feet from the wrecked bike. He was treated by Dr. Austria and taken on to the St. Cather ines hospital at Omaha where he was given treatment for the injuries. It was thought that he might have suffered a broken shoulder but fortunately it was found only badly sprained and bruised. He also suffered a severe laceration under one eye and cuts and bruises on the body and head. He spent two days at the hospital before being able to be returned home. McMakens Return Mr. and Mrs. J. G. McMaken returned this week from an ex tended trip which took them to the east and west coasts. They spent several months in Cali fornia where McMaken had a contract for work on the Colo rado River. Connie Rector, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rector, was salutatorian of the Class of 19G0 at Weeping Water High. Beverly Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee, received the Proctor and Gamble award and engraved trophy at Weeping Water High for "outstanding work in Home Economics." Kuceras Honored By Band, Parents At Annual Picnic A large crowd attended the annual band parents, band per sonel picnic Memorial day at Steinhart Park in Nebraska City. The band parents honored the departing director Richard Kucera and Mrs. Kucera for their "wonderful devotion to the students and fine work that he has done with the band. Mrs. Marion Christenson, out going senior mother, presented the Kuceras a clock, gift of the Band Parents Club. Earlier in the day Kenneth Price, band president for the year 1960-61, presented Kucera an engraved lighter, a gift from the band "for the untiring help that the director had given them." The band and parents joined in wishing the Kucera's much sucess in their new work in Lin coln where Mr. Kucera will teach music in the Lincoln schools. Eighteen members answered roll call. Members were present from Louisville, Weeping Water Elm wood, Union and Plattsmouth. Mrs. Wilbur F'itzpatriek, Chap eau presided over the business meeting. Child Welfare Chairman Mata Amick, read a letter from the National Jewish Hospital, thank ing the Salon for their continued support of the hospital. A report on the Area B. meet ing held in Syracuse was given by those attending. The name of Mary Gobelman was presented for nomination for Area B. Demi Chapeau. Qhapeau, Amette, appointed the following to serve on the nominating committee: Mrs. John Schutz, Mrs. Oliver Schi ber, Mrs. Mary Gobelman. Dis cussion was held on the T. B. Seals Chairmanship, Mrs. Oliver Schiber was endorsed for county seal ch. The name will be pre sented to the County board for their approval. Mrs. John Sch utz will serve as County Chair Christ Lutheran Aid Society Meets Mrs. Clarence Engelkemicr and Mrs. Ernest Hild were host esses to the Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid Society Wednesday. The Society has purchased a Silver Tea Service for the Church Parlors. The 1960 goal has been set to have the church kitchen painted and have the Choir loft enclosed. The spring "love gift" has been set at $3 per member. Following the business meet ing, Mrs. Franz Peteriet read Devotions. Kathryn Engelke meier played piano solos. Linda Martin sang a solo, accompan ied by Norma Martin and Karen and Ellen Engelkemier sang a duet, accompanied by Linda Engelkemier. Ballet Dancing was done by Theresa Engelke mier. Lunch was served by the host esses. The ladies will meet again on June 29 with Mrs. Jake Kraeger and Mrs. Verner Friedrick as hostesses. Miss Pink Honored At Bridal Shower Miss Judy Pink was honored at a bridal shower on Tuesday, May 24 at the home of her .sis ter, Mrs. Merle Dean Meisinger. The evening was spent playini? games after which a luncheon was served. Miss Pink received many lovely gifts. Those attending were Miss Claudia Aldrich, Fay Garring er, June Dietl, Mrs. Tom Ak eson, Mrs. Emma Akcson, Mrs. Joseph Dietl.
