Next meeting is Tuesday evening, May 10, in stead of the 17th due to Eagle's Commencement scheduled for the 17th. At the last meeting the demonstration lesson on "Hats", was given by Dorothy Sybrandt. Several members brought old hats. Joanne Anderson was a visitor. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Williams of Broken Bow, Nebraska, call ed at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Anna Fifer, on last Monday evening enroute to . Nebraska City for over night and a busi ness appointment. Mr. Williams is campaigning for the nominee for Nebraska Governor. The Education Committee of the Eagle Methodist Church, will meet Tuesday evening, May 10th at 8 o'clock. All officers and teachers of the Church school, are urged to be present. Mr. George Althouse has been bedfast for several days suf fering with Arthritis and his many friends are hoping he will feel much better soon. Mr. Phillip Schaffer of Ne hawka, Nebr., called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Althouse and son, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Althouse last Friday. The Keith Althouses' of Lin coln and Albert Munn and fam ily of near Wayerly have made frequent calls at the home of his parents, George Althouse's dur ing Mr. Althouse's illness. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ame lang, returned home Saturday from the Methodist Hospital in Omaha where he has been for the last two months following a stroke. He is feeling good and is up and around. Myrna Reichart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reichart, has been selected by her in structors at the Methodist hos pital and School of Nursing to be a candidate for Sweetheart for the college series. Guests this past week at the home of Mr. und Mrs. R. L. Whaley were their sons and families, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Whaley and family of Em poria, Kansas, Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Whaley and family of Los Angeles, California and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Whaley and family of Spencer, Iowa. Dr. R. L. Whaley attended the Creighton dental seminar while here. An other son and family, William Whaley, who teaches English for the American Embassy iin Morocco was unable to be here. He made a tape recording of the voices of his family for the folks back here and sent it to them. He and his family plan to visit here this fall.
